well, actually if you watch dire's smp series, youll know that xycraft istn dead, in fact, soaryan has been doing lots of coding, as he's never on the server, just teamspeak (of course, with no mic)
my website- http://pcbuilds.site...orums/index.php -Looking for Admin's, pm for more info
He's already stated, several times in fact that there WILL NOT BE A 1.5.2 VERSION of XYCraft. And if I may presume, I can answer your question about if it would really take so much recoding...Apparently Soaryn felt that it wasn't worth the effort. He's a college student, this is a hobby, this is something he does for free. While it's frustrating to not have the mod, it's even more frustrating to see people come here and then whine because the mod's not updated yet. It's people that whine and complain that drive mod author's away, please stop.
tl:dr: Quityerin, and if you have to preface something with "I really don't want to see impatient" or anything like that phrase, you are being impatient, quit.
in short: No
in long: READ THE *BLEEP*ing THREAD. This has been mentioned many times already.
I've stayed on the sidelines for quite a while now, but feel I must throw my $0.02 into the convo.
Yes, Soaryn has stated many times [I guess] that there will be no 1.5.x version of Xycraft. But there will be a 1.6.x version. This seems a bit...odd. I really can't think of a better word to describe the situation here. Actually, I can think of many words more suited, but they are vulgar and I choose not to use them.
If I'm not mistaken, xycraft is only distributed, in modpack form, through FTB. Soaryn will allow no other modpacks to distribute xycraft. I believe this is stated on the xycraft wiki. So you can use the FTB version of xycraft or install it separately. FTB has progressed in minecraft versions from 1.4.7 to 1.5.2, not 1.4.7 straight to 1.6.x. So if you want to play FTB and have xycraft, you're stuck in 1.4.7 until both FTB and xycraft update to 1.6. Since FTB only recently updated to 1.5.2, I do not expect to see a FTB 1.6.x any time in the immediate future.
The entire situation just seems...odd from an end-users perspective. Aside from tanks and soil blocks, xycraft brought us the fabricator, which IMO, is the only automated crafting table that actually works in the manner one would expect an ACT to function. If Soaryn doesn't wish to take the time to provide an update of xycraft for FTB 1.5.2, that is his right. But in not providing an update for 1.5.2 when FTB updates to 1.5.2 and declaring an update for 1.6.x with FTB having just updated to 1.5.2...if seems like Soaryn is intentionally trying to alienate his current user-base, again from the perspective of an end-user. If Soaryn doesn't wish to update, then allow someone else to perform the 1.5.2 update. I'm sure there would be plenty of volunteers. And if this thread is any indication, there seems to be a high demand for a 1.5.2 update.
In closing, I humbly ask Soaryn to either reconsider a 1.5.2 update or allow another modder to perform a 1.5.2 update for xycraft. Either way, it would be a win-win for Soaryn, xycraft and xycraft's current user-base.
A 1.6.2 version of FTB I have heard is coming sooner than you might think. His reason of course for not updating to 1.5.2 is because honestly there is no reason too. Once a 1.6.2 FTB comes out NOBODY in their right mind will play an older version of minecraft. When was the last time you saw someone play modded 1.2.5? People move on to the most updated version of minecraft. This is how things work, so updating to 1.5.2 is pointless in the long run, and a waste of time.
I can
Essentially 1.6 is when this mod will leave the WIP section of MCF... I distribute XyCraft on my wiki.
The reason I wont update a pubic version for 1.5 has nothing to do with FTB or laziness. 1.5 was done back in the first few weeks of MC updating. The reason I wont update is because XyCraft for 1.5 is not really backwards compat to 1.4 and same with 1.6 however that is , again, when Xy will move to the mods section.
Trying to treat this as a end product with users who are paid users is kinda odd. There is no where that says anyone is entitled to demanding the mod for some version.
I understand the impatience, I used to be a Mod user, before deving. HOWEVER, I ask that everyone refrain from assuming or plugging in their opinions on why or why not I released a version. I have stated the reasons in all forms thus far: Stream, forum, twitter etc.
1.6 is the next version and it IS distributed by me, not soley FTB. This entire thread will be either moved or deleted when the XyCaft 1.6 comes so don't you worry. Check my twitter for updates. This text editor is too tedious to sign on and use
24 hours gone again, wasted in futility, welcome to minecraft modding, that is (unfortunately) our community.
(an ode to minecraft modding)
i keep making the same mistake, i think "oh, i've given them a few months, surely it'll be fixed by now" THAT is why i seem to ALWAYS be angry to some of you, my advice is to get the lead out.
there were nice things here, until the mod author threw a tantrum.
As strange as it sounds, people who get software for free tend to be more demanding than those who pay for it.
Most of us are very understanding, you want to do it right and you have a life.
Thanks for the hard work

@Soaryn: What elements of Minecraft 1.6, either in the vanilla update itself or in Forge, would invalidate any worlds based on 1.5.2 with XyCraft? The move from 1.4.x to 1.5.x was rather extreme as it broke up spritesheets into individual textures among other things. 1.6 added some blocks and mobs, notably nether quartz and horses, but I don't see the breaking changes in the base Minecraft. Did Forge, via MultiPart or some other means, make updating worlds from 1.5.x to 1.6.x impossible in FTB?
The main problem is, all MY code has drastically changed since then.
One reasoning was Liquids (in code) changed to Fluids, and Tanks don't support the old system anymore,
All my blocks metas and the like got rearranged: The Platform blocks are gone, There are more blocks which mean I added new IDs and organized the existing ones.
1.5 was going to be my break all the things update but with 1.6 Id rather only have one of those. So this way existing 1.5 worlds can update without issues from Xy. 1.4.7 worlds will not be updated smoothly, there is no way around that. ( I do have retrogen)
Any more people who decide to comment about a 1.5 update, Just know I wont change mymind, we have far too much work done in 1.6 to allow for the version that Sevadus has to be utilized in mass, he has it since he has access to ForgeCraft.
I know some of you start new worlds every update, however I don't feel comfortable with a mass (the people who don't) coming at me for a world I may have ruined from 1.5 due to their inability to read. (I don't like reading so why should I make others?)
1.6 will be a fun and epic update, but with having to constantly bash down the 1.5 proposals more and more time is wasted. So I ask you all, please be patient.
Thanks,
~Soaryn
That would definitely make a lot more sense. Especially handy since it doesn't seem to be a sure thing that you'll actually get any kernels...

I don't know what it's from, but I suspect it's the Xycraft Tanks. Could this be the case?
It's happening every time I enter the Nether.
I disabled the tanks I had and sure enough, the game DIDN'T crash. What is causing this? Can you fix this?
Life is a Learning Curve....
Unfortunately, you're stuck on the bottom...amongst the bones of the stupid.
