This mod as a bukkit-only plugin is impossible... ...it needs Client-Modification which is impossible with bukkit!
I could only try to make a bukkit-plugin which makes the radius bigger in which this mod works. But I don't have time at the moment.
Can't seem to get this mod to work when I try joining a server I get kicked for spamming chat
Oh Sorry. In this case my mod is incompatible with this/these server(s) at the moment. I'll add a "disable auto-ask for screen-view"-Option in the next Version...
(Perhaps not using "auto-allow" could help but I'm not sure)
Awesome Mod! I enjoy using this mod on my friends private server!
I have made a review / tutorial for your mod =)
Hope you like it:

Thanks for making this Video... Some Notes: - For some reason Sky looks normal when Sky is OFF in Optifine-Settings... - more screens than 3 are possible... (...but it would lagg probably) - Config-Defaults don't get parsed (yet?) and you should copy/modify them in the screen-setting - Buddycam is in development since MC 1.2.3 - There is a Config-Generator linked here in the first post
This mod will come in handy for my Minecraft channel! And to think, in the last video we made, we were talking about needing a mod did pretty much what this one does. Shame about the range limit though.
Nice...
Yes the range-limit is not a feature of my mod but a feature of Minecraft... ...it will be difficult to change that... (It has low priority on my todo-list.)
But good news about the graphic-glitches: I found the reasons for the white sky and the ghosty Objects when using small/tiny-renderdistance :D. (But I don't think that it has something to do with the flickering terrain...)
And: buddycam should be Forge-Compatible in the next Version...
If this has been answered somewhere else please tell me but...
I want to add more than one persons screen to my screen. Anyway to do that?
Thanks in advance
MrPokeDSDude
Just configure more than one Screen... ...you could use the Config-Generator linked in the installation instructions
Hey guys, a friend and I play on a modded server of ours on his computer (running from minecraft servers, not tekkit or FTB), and we decided to to install this mod. We are able to log in to the server, but whenever one of us enters the magical 140-block radius, minecraft freezes for a few seconds, then crashes.
Here is the crash report (hopefully i have done this right, and I apologise for the length of it, there are 21 mods on the server!)

is it possible to have its where you press a button which opens up a gui for chosing a player in the server and all you do is click on the player you want to view.
also is it possible to have buddycam transparent?
also can you make it possible so the mod opens a new window showing only your freinds screen as i use two monitors and would like to use both for looking at freinds screen and mine as well
one more thing can there be support for seeing my buddies health, food, xp, hotbar, and if he is in his inventory, etc though i assume my buddy will need the mod for such support

As mersumies said: It's on the todo-list... ...and it's the next thing I'd like to do... ...but I'm not sure how difficult it is...
also can you make it possible so the mod opens a new window showing only your freinds screen as i use two monitors and would like to use both for looking at freinds screen and mine as well
Good Idea. It shouldn't be too difficult, but it isn't that important. I'll put it on my todo-list (which I should organize better) but with low priority...
one more thing can there be support for seeing my buddies health, food, xp, hotbar, and if he is in his inventory, etc though i assume my buddy will need the mod for such support
If all the important things are done i'll try to make this happen... ...but I don't know how to do this yet...

if it helps i know a mod that gives me my buddies health. its called battle chatter mod, we both need to use it and we both need to be in the same irc channel for this function of the mod to work.
not really sure if if that helps not even sure if it gave you any more ideas?
not exactly sure if you check every once in a while but i have an idea that could change the direction of the mod kinda (in a way)
there should be three different modes
1.admin/OP cam
2. KillCam (sorta complicated)
3. Original BuddyCam
all these modes can be on at the same time and could be toggled on/off with any combinations of them (im pretty sure they would be compatible with each other
1. Admin/OP cam (fairly simple)
this mode if op allows the user to see someones screen instantly without notifying viewed player
2. KillCam (more complicated, not even sure if do-able)
this mode explained simply works as kill cam showing how you died by showing view of player who killed you.
how it would work is the mod looks for moments where the user gets hurt and starts recording the screen (not showing it during battle) of the person who hurt if a player did hurt the user (unless mob/entity support is added ).
if the player who hurt the user is killed then the kill-cam is scrapped, but if the user does die to player/mob a third option in the death menu saying kill-cam can be clicked on to show how you died.by replacing entire minecraft window of the killer's view and once finished the killcam is scrapped . or if the server kicks player on death then add the same button to the disconnected menu as well (if possible).
now one problem i can think is some servers (a lot actually) don't make you go to the death menu when you die but just spawn back in the world so maybe have it so if you or the enemy player is teleported (not sure if the mod can sort out if the user is teleported not the enemy. if yes then just detect when you yourself is teleported) then the mod tells you in chat that to view the the killcam by holding esc or not watch it by double tapping esc (or any other hotkey). if this type of death occurs again then previous killcam is replaced by current one (maybe) just so no gui and such is needed to view. only hotkeys and such
found out one more problem i think. so there are many server that have different ways of killing players. like servers that make snowballs hurt people, gun servers etc. the way this mod detects which player's screen to watch is to see who hurt you. so it will find who shot a bow, snowball, or weapon. for moments when it cant detect player who hurt user then it just record the sourroundings of user and then the user could go back and watch in some sort of ghost cam 3rd person to see what happened (maybe)
3. BuddyCam (same)
this is pretty much how the way is now so i guess that would be default
admin cam would be for staff
KillCam would be for youtubers, curious player, even regular players doing the good deed of catching hackers on tape themselves themselves, etv
buddycam is for freinds, and teamers

[...]
Number 1 will be implemented into the mod as soon as I know a way how to check if the player is OP from client-side...
(I already have something like a "checkForOpRights"-Function which returns at the moment false all the time...) Number 2 is a very nice idea and is now on my (private) Todo-List but with a very low priority... ...will be tricky to implement but not impossible Number 3 will always have top-priority
About this mod, it works for 1.4.7.
And one more thing, either it is a mod glitch or my mods are conflicting, but whenever a person comes in range, it lags EXTREMELY for ~15 seconds.
No, I don't have a slow PC, mine is an ultra-high performance gaming desktop.
This is quite annoying though.
But it could be because of my mods.
I would love to get some support on my new channel and some constructive criticism for how to improve!

At the moment you'll have to restart Minecraft after each change to the config-file... ...I really need to learn how to make Menus...
Thanks

also is it possible to have buddycam transparent?
also can you make it possible so the mod opens a new window showing only your freinds screen as i use two monitors and would like to use both for looking at freinds screen and mine as well
one more thing can there be support for seeing my buddies health, food, xp, hotbar, and if he is in his inventory, etc though i assume my buddy will need the mod for such support
As mersumies said: It's on the todo-list... ...and it's the next thing I'd like to do... ...but I'm not sure how difficult it is... I'm not sure... ...i'll have to try it out one day... Good Idea. It shouldn't be too difficult, but it isn't that important. I'll put it on my todo-list (which I should organize better) but with low priority... If all the important things are done i'll try to make this happen... ...but I don't know how to do this yet...
if it helps i know a mod that gives me my buddies health. its called battle chatter mod, we both need to use it and we both need to be in the same irc channel for this function of the mod to work.
not really sure if if that helps not even sure if it gave you any more ideas?
there should be three different modes
1.admin/OP cam
2. KillCam (sorta complicated)
3. Original BuddyCam
all these modes can be on at the same time and could be toggled on/off with any combinations of them (im pretty sure they would be compatible with each other
1. Admin/OP cam (fairly simple)
KillCam would be for youtubers, curious player, even regular players doing the good deed of catching hackers on tape themselves themselves, etv
buddycam is for freinds, and teamers
Number 1 will be implemented into the mod as soon as I know a way how to check if the player is OP from client-side...
(I already have something like a "checkForOpRights"-Function which returns at the moment false all the time...)
Number 2 is a very nice idea and is now on my (private) Todo-List but with a very low priority... ...will be tricky to implement but not impossible
Number 3 will always have top-priority
And one more thing, either it is a mod glitch or my mods are conflicting, but whenever a person comes in range, it lags EXTREMELY for ~15 seconds.
No, I don't have a slow PC, mine is an ultra-high performance gaming desktop.
This is quite annoying though.
But it could be because of my mods.
