You need: Clean minecraft.jar and clean mods folder
first download forge from here http://www.minecraft...pic,4804.0.html get the universal then drag the items from the rar/zip you downloaded to minecraft.jar (you need clean minecraft.jar) then go to meta-inf and delete all files from here which contains the word "mojang" and then close and start it up.if it has checking everything close it and drag the simply horses mod rar/zip to mods folder and open and its done.
If you dont know how to get clean minecraft.jar read this:
if you dont have a clean backup then force update the game and its done
if you have packed up your minecraft.jars then find the 1.4.7 one which is CLEAN and then delete/rename the old one and rename the clean one to minecraft.jar
:C No part of owning, riding, training, or otherwise utilizing horses is "girly." There is nothing "girly" about a human of any gender controlling an animal over ten times his or her size in the saddle, or taking care of it out of the saddle. Shutting down suggestions with the reason being "girliness" is bad and you should feel bad.
... Unless it involves fairy horses, or braiding manes, or adding bow, or cutie marks. Then that's kinda girly. But no less valid as a suggestion, so you shouldn't try to shut it down anyway.
Actually, "please add cutie marks" is not a valid suggestion and should be shut down. Even if Fluttershy is best pony.
... And fairy ponies can be manly too. So yeah.

Also, a lot of you guys are posting the "Horses appearing behind vehicles" bug. Like the instructions say in the OP, lasso the vehicle, then attach it to the back of the whippletree. Doing the reverse causes that 'bug'.
Moving on, horse breeds are not getting "the best of both worlds." You ride Mustangs and Arabians, not Clydesdales. Similarly, Clydesdales are for draught; Mustangs and Arabians are not. Minecraft is not about realism, nor is this mod. Thanks, love you!
Lastly, telling me what I 'should' add or change with this mod, or what to 'add in the next update' is really annoying, especially the latter. There are more polite ways to make suggestions. Even assuming I did take heed of a suggestion, there are other features I want and still need to add, and modding isn't as easy as some of you seem to think in the first place.

@Pegacorn5049, as is said in the OP, you need Optifine or MCPatcher to view the additional textures. Also, please edit your posts instead of double- or triple-posting on the forums. If you are having trouble installing Forge, try using MultiMC to do it somewhat automatically. It's pretty great.
@charcharmunro, are you using the correct version of Forge? That error usually comes up if the wrong version is being used D;.
@Arpeggio, love the avatar ;3! SH should get its own sound FX in the near future. I tend to push such things back ^^. As for language packs... I'm not entirely sure how language packs work exactly, but they can be done. You and anyone else wanting to are more than welcome to make language files for Simply Horses. Just tell me what you need from me :3.
As well, vehicle speed is based on how many horses are pulling, so that could be the problem. Though, if the horses are pulling at all, they should be able to pulling at least at a walk and trot. The OP lists how many horses are needed to pull each vehicle at the minimum as well as the number needed to pull at a gallop.
Though you need a train of at least two vehicles, you don't need horses to pull trains if the driver is creative mode :3

@mythoguy, As to the disappearing vardo... I haven't had that bug reported before. What other mods are you using, if any? Are you using a cracked version of minecraft, or a special launcher? Are you getting any errors?

@JokerTM, packhorses will not be added to Simply Horses, though saddlebags may be added.
@Sebastiankit, horses are not getting stats in Simply Horses, but may in Complexly Horses. Also, you can dye horse tack the same way you dye sheep. As for your large post, while your suggestions do seem well thought out, I probably won't be implementing them. I already have a non-Randomobs coat-system planned out and waiting to be implemented. Training and stats will play a role in Complexly horses, but the exact stats and how to improve them has not been decided upon. Some points in your suggestion are interesting, however, so we'll see. Thanks for taking the time to think all this up ^^.
@mineBug, did you download SH from a different site or tamper with the zip file? That error says you're missing the main file of the mod, which should be in the zip.
@CayCay, If possible, I would try installing Forge through the MultiMC program. It's a lot easier .
@dragonrider11191, that seems to be an issue with MCPatcher? I recommend posting it the topic for that program as well... In anycase, try removing Simply Horses (you will you any SH content in any world you enter afterwards), and try entering the world again. If the problem persists, post the crash report here and for MCPatcher and we'll see.
@wildfirefly12, gender will be a thing in Complexly Horses, but not Simply Horses ^^. I'll look in the STFH breeding issue soon Thanks for reporting.

@ mythoguy: Liil Avii just said to stop saying that she should add things to the mod so please keep that in mind while posting ideas. Make it a suggestion instead thats much nicer. Also once Simply Horses has been completed to Avii's happiness she will begin work on Complexely horses it will be a compilation of add-ons for simply horses users. Keep in mind if Avii has responded to your idea already posting it again and again will only be annoying.
Awesome job on updating Avii! I have been rather busy and wanted to get a little play time in with the new update before posting. I have been having so much fun its wonderful to have your wonderful horses roaming my minecraftian worlds once more. I can not wait to see this coat system you have coded whenever it comes out. i started to use this mod since 1.2.5, and i love it! but the riding system is dump, i think you must return to the old one again, also decrease the arabians speed a little bit.
and also make clydesdales mountable, also..specializing is dump..horses must spawn by their breed.
the items will have another uses..the yoke will be placed on horses to make them attachable to carts..the bridle is needed to ride horses, or it will be removed (i like the bridle but i have no idea about what it will be if not removed) and the shoes make horses move on sand and dirt and grass better (as if they were walking on stone) as a new feature.
and i have a new vehicle : chariot..it could take 3 players on it (one of them drives).
and the 2 worst glitches for me are when riding a vehicle and while moving in water.
or at least return the old riding system because its the most important feature..and i don't use the mod currently because its useless in this riding system and i tame horses for nothing.
I'd just like to start off with this is a fantastic mod. I love wandering around in a great caravan of vardos and carts, just roaming the wild yonder with me and my horses. Unfortunately, I've found myself in a bit of a predicament...
Due to issues outlined in my narrative, I didn't get an error log and therefore my story is almost useless as far as bug fixing goes, so I spoilered it to spare everyone my stupid. xD Hopefully it'll entertain some of you, though.
I play with the FTB Mindcrack pack, and was looking to add this mod. I add it, wander around on a test world for awhile, everything seems to be working great. Unfortunately, my test world was perfectly flat. When I loaded up my main world (which was not), I created a vardo and some lasso and went out to find some horses. I wandered in a 1 km radius around my home...and didn't find a single one. As far as I can tell, horses don't seem to be spawning in ExtraBiomesXL biomes; the test I ran was in a Mystcraft-generated flat plains (vanilla) world.
Oh, well, no problem. I'll just spawn a few horses with the spawner lasso! Everything goes as planned. I lasso a pair to a tree, plop down the vardo I made, and start filling the vardo with resources while the horses break. I manage to fill the vardo with various items from various mods and all is going well. Eventually the horses break, I turn them into Clydestales, give them draught gear, hook them up to my vardo and all goes well.
Until I hit the first hill. Instead of going up a block as expected, the horses and vardo appear to go up a half block, and start sort of phasing through the ground. They turn black with suffocation periodically, but the suffocation appears to last so short a period that the horses nor the vardo take damage. I'm perturbed, but keep trekking back home.
After running into some nonrelated issues with rivers (I don't know what possessed me to try and drive a vardo through water. It was a bad idea.), I finally make it home and put the Clydestales in their new pens and start sorting out all of the stuff in the vardo. Before I start sorting, though, I pick up a few Henequen seeds. Now, I had put Henequen seeds in the vardo before with no problems. But this time when I put them in the vardo, I crash.
Well, no big deal, it was probably a one-time thing. FTB isn't the most stable thing ever, much less with any mods added to it, so I was used to crashes. I started back up, go to open the Vardo again...and the vardo is empty. Desperately I click at the empty slots, which triggers the same crash as before. At this point, I start typing out this report, before realizing I'd closed the freaking log. No problem, I'll log in, and replicate the crash.
Now I can't replicate the crash and all of my stuff reappeared. x_x
tl;dr Always save the logs before you close the screen, you never know if you'll be able to replicate the bug or not.
Okay... so I started this because I'm partial to champagne and palomino arabians, and, after some research was happy to discover that they and a bunch of other unusual colours were actually considered acceptable and even desirable in purebreds. So I made some, because I really wanted some. XD I also made a bunch of gypsy vanner textures for the clydesdales (If it ends up interfering with future plans for the mod I can exclude these) and painted the vardo red.
I guess you can just put in what you want and leave out what you don't; you should be able to just add them to the textures already in the SimplyHorses mobs folder (but make sure you adjust the numbers if you leave some out).
Love the mod. It's what I've been waiting for since alpha. I think you could add horse armour made out of leather, iron, gold, diamond.. things like that. Great mod!
I am having trouble finding horses. I have even created a new world on superflat and flyed around for about 15mins looking for a group of horses, but there are none! I know the mod is installed right because it is in forge and i can spawn horses. I have not seen a horse that has naturaly spawn yet. Can anyone help me?
P.S. I have lots of mods, is that the problem?: Optfine, Primitive Mobs, improved 1st person, Smart Moving, Rei's minimap, and mybe some others.
Hi Avii! Really like the mod, but i would really like to use Senyazza´s textures. Could you tell me how to make them view able? I don't know how to use MCPatcher :/
I'd suggest Optifine instead, I believe it works better with Forge (unless my information is outdated; haven't used MCPatcher in a while). Installation is pretty straightforward.

Hi Avii! I was curious about something. I remembered the recipe for the spawner lasso, thinking it was the regular lasso, since it's really easy to get four string and a stick, and not as easy for an iron ingot and four string. I guess what I'm trying to ask is, why is it easier to make a spawner lasso rather than a regular lasso? Does that make any sense? I'm not complaining at all, I just thought it was interesting that the "special" lasso was easier to obtain, since I believe in an older version of this mod the spawner lasso had diamonds instead. Just out of curiosity :). I haven't found any bugs as of yet, and I am having loads of fun now
Hey i have an idea, you should add hay and make it able to place in a horse stall and they could take bites of it when they wanted like cake loland i forgot to add this in other post but does anyone know something i could download so i can take videos of minecraft that is free safe and runs fast?
