Me and my friends have a whole assortment of halo buildings and we would love to help out with a lot of the structures.
If you want to PM me some pictures and such I would love to check them out.
Also, I'm having some major trouble with the guns, and the only tutorials for creating custom arrows for ModLoader are old. Does anyone who is more versed in that area feel like helping? For some reason the arrow is invisible, even though it does damage and such. Also, Some help making the weapons automatic when the button is held down would be appreciated. Once these are nailed down the pre-release will be mostly done.

If you didn't know already, I am glad to inform you that the first release will take place on 1.17.13, exactly one year after work on this mod officially started (though nothing from the original code still exists). Unfortunately, this will not be a full release, but rather a pre-release similar to the weekly snapshots for Vanilla Minecraft. This version will include various blocks and items, and hopefully a weapon or two. I just recently switched from ModLoader in favor of Forge, so I've had to rewrite a lot of stuff, and I am also working more or less alone at the moment (to an active team members reading, PM me and I'll see if I have anything for you to do). The Magnum and the Plasma Pistol are planned to be included, but may not depending on whether or not I can complete the coding for weapons (if anyone with experience making guns could help me with things like recoil, ect. it would be appreciated). At the very least, a slightly unfinished Magnum will be included. This release may not have a lot of content, but it's a release! Other releases should come much more often since a lot of stuff has been started, but is not finished enough to be released.
In other news, every weapon that will be included now has a model! Here's a gallery with them all: http://imgur.com/a/KCIez
Also, I have made Titanium an ore, which will be about as rare as gold. Titanium Ingots will be used in the crafting of every weapon, but will be less relevant in the Covenant weapons, which mostly uses Metal Plates. Titanium Ingots will also make things like Titanium Rods, bullets, and Titanium Blocks. Titanium Blocks can be combined with Obsidian to create Reinforced Titanium, used most often in UNSC ship building. Metal Plates will come in two forms upon release, blue and purple. They will be used in nearly every Covenant weapon recipe, as well as the formation of Metal Blocks used in Covenant ship building. Metal Plates can be crafted using one diamond and either a purple or blue dye.
Bullets will stack to 16, and come in 3 varieties (low-caliber, medium-caliber, and high-caliber). 9 bullets can be crafted into magazines, which also stack to 16, in order to increase carrying capacity. Covenant weapons will not use bullets, but instead will be crafted with Plasma and decrease in durability upon every use. The exception to this in version 1.1 is the Needler, which relies on Needle Shards for ammo. These are crafted using one diamond and two pink dye, and stack to 16. 9 Needle Shards make a Needle Magazine, which also stacks to 16.
We look forward to the first release, and hope that everyone has a happy new year!

Do you plan on keeping the recipes for the Needle Shards and Metal Plates the same as they are in 1.1? Although they should be expensive, is the diamond just a placeholder for another metal/item that isn't added yet?

I plan on keeping them this way. The recipes yield multiple (2 plates and 3 shards). The final version will have weapons uncommonly drop from mobs, and metal blocks spawn in the world as ships; obtaining them won't be extremely difficult in the final version.

Ok, that's good to know. I completely forgot about mobs dropping stuff.
So what is the role of the testers in this scenario?
The testers will receive the mod to be released before everyone else, how long before will depend on how much is being released. In this case the release is rather simple and consists mostly of blocks and items, so testers will get it about a week before everyone else so that they can report any problems that appear.
The testers who have not responded when version 1.1 is released will be replaced for 1.2 and so on. This release is Pre-release 0.1.
Hey, M0aHerder! I took a look at the guns you designed. The assault rifle is a bit too tall in front. maybe make it 1 row shorter! Please don't take any offense. Thanks!
I was curious... will people (such as myself) be allowed to make a mod "Spotlight" of this? I was wondering If you'd be ok with it, M0a, or if you'd rather wait until the full release of 1.1.

Be my guest! This pre-release will actually be as big as some fully developed mods, so I don't think there will be a problem with a few mod spotlights.

As you may know, there are a few Halo mods that are either in development or have already been finished. But none of these mods, in my opinion, really feel like you're in the Halo universe. So I'm setting out to make a mod that does. This mod will mix all the great things about Halo with the blockiness of Minecraft, for the ultimate Halo mod.
Planned Content
Not started
In progress
Completed
Version 1.1
None of the normal mobs will spawn anymore. Covenant mobs will take their place and will spawn at all times in groups.

Will you be planning on have something like Campaign or will just random structures? Also will you add Rebels? Another thing will you add Rebel bases to fight? Plus will it be possible like when you actually start the world you spawn in like a UNSC base but will you be a Spartan,Marine or ODST or something like that. These are just suggestions you don't have to do it.

Right now campaign is not planned, but I can definitely see someone creating a campaign using the mod, I'll do my best to make sure it's possible. Rebels will be added, but they won't be a major faction like the Covenant; they will have bases. You will start out as a recruit on board in UNSC Frigate, you can access different armor after completing certain quests or after killing a certain number of enemies.
I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is I couldn't get the Magnum to work like I wanted to save my life, so it will come later in the same update as a few other guns. The good news is I've chosen to use the time I could've spent on the Magnum to add more blocks and items! But I need your help to come up with more ideas! Here's what I have on my list so far:
Items
-Sandbag
-Combat Knife (weapon)
-Energy Dagger (weapon)
Blocks
-Sandbag wall
-Crate (chest)
-Reinforced Glass
Because the stuff added in this update will be just blocks and items, I've decided that testers will only get this update a day or two early, to maximize the time I have to add new stuff. I do not expect many problems, and I've been constantly testing it myself. Updates featuring more advanced items like guns and structures will be given to the testers much earlier, it's just that this release is rather simple.
You may be wondering what will be included in this mod other than the stuff above. I have shared pictures elsewhere before, but I wanted to wait until today to share them with you guys. Here's everything that will be included (I'd appreciate critique on the textures):
It just occurred to me that I forgot to do an update last week, so to make up for that I'll detail on how the weapons will work, and some other things. (keep in mind these are final versions) The guns in this mod won't be your typical Minecraft gun. Instead of being items, the guns will actually be more similar to blocks, you'll be able to place them in the world and they'll use their actual model both in first person and when placed. This is one of the reasons the Magnum is being delayed (the other major one being arrow/bullet issues), as I have to do some complicated stuff to make it work. When you die your weapons will be placed on the ground, and can be picked up by looking at them and pressing the left mouse button. Armor and possibly weapons can be unlocked by completing missions obtained from various important people around your world. You will start out as a recruit aboard a UNSC Frigate, with basic Marine armor and an Assault Rifle in your inventory. You can find other weapons onboard the Frigate, and equip allies which you can order to follow you. You will then be able to board a Pelican and take off towards the surface. You can either pilot the Pelican yourself or let an AI pilot it, who will fly to the nearest UNSC landing site and drop you off there. You can then kill enemies to earn points, and buy armor and weapons from various bases and other things, as well as find them on the battlefield.
That's all for this week, the first release will be released on Thursday!
We've always been in business! There was just a short delay.
If you want to PM me some pictures and such I would love to check them out.

Along with a release date, as well. Quite a Christmas surprise.

Thanks!
If one is made, do you want them linked to you?
Good luck man. that's all I can say right now.
Just make sure there's a download link, after that I really don't care all that much.
