Ahh yes and when you go up to the skylands the water goes all the way down, that kinda looks bad. Perhaps you could make it so that it becomes rain, vanishes or errodes the stuff underneath it, so it blends with the surrounding. Looks really ugly if the water hits a Tree. If you get ModLoader to work erosion mod [v2.5] would fix the issue. Dono about the trees though I'll ask.

You need to add the end to this list which obviously you can't do for 1.8.1 but when a stable version of 1.9 comes out you should definatly add The End I am not sure how probably dig under the nether I don't know lol

Brand new fresh copy of minecraft, installed, created a new world, everything works perfectly, but monsters no longer spawn. Neutral mobs (cows, sheep, pigs, etc...) spawn, but zombies, creepers, etc... don't.

I shrinked the update area around the player to +-5 chunks (were +-9 chunks) and changed rendering height to 96 blocks. I will do an optimization and enlarge it again.

That's fire. Are you using optifine? If so, turn on the fire animation.
