I understand Kirb is waiting for Chaom, but what does he need to wait for? Shouldn't he just be able to keep working on the littler aspects of the mod? Kirb, we need an update, are your plans still to wait for Chaom? Have you just put this on pause?
I know! = artifact = air
You place the artifacts in this shape:
Level 1:
Level 2:
And then right click the artifact in the centre of the bottom level (level 1) and a chest appears between the two artifacts on the Level 2 with a Staff that kills/destroys anything with one hit and gets drops for everything (glass and glowstone WHOLE BLOCKS) and when you right click, it dowses any nearby flames, replaces lava with water and makes it storm and thunder and lightning!
Too awesome?
Or, it also has unbreakable armor and tools and the sword instakills, pickaxe, axe and shovel instadestroy, pickaxe gets drops for everything (glass and glowstone WHOLE BLOCKS)and the staff just dowses any nearby flames, replaces lava with water and makes it storm and thunder and lightning.
I like second idea more. Oh and the armor makes you not flammable!
And a car!
And an infinite amount of lightning+fire+water+lava resistant blocks!
And a plane!
And an instant tree maker!
And infinite lava and water and milk buckets!
ENJOY INFINITY ENRGYs!
In order to get into the final labyrinth you have to sacrifice two artifacs but is it possible to get them back? like go through the dungeon and when your done re-pick up the artifact(s).

i think you have to place two artifacts for each labyrinth you go into
i dont think he said if you can re-acquire them later
maybe two more spawn in the world?(i mean it subtracts two from the amount already in the world, so the game can spawn two more when you generate new chunks)
For the time being, the plans for Minecrafts end goal, was in Notch's words "Could be like destroy something or kill something big, but to do that you need to find like 5 artifacts spread around the world"
This is what should of been done.
1. Had him give you Copys of all the work that has been done so far ( If he has already continue on. If not then should be done with the next programer person that helps you)
2. Releast The Mod as a treaser. IMO this would Rise the Chance's of people wanting to move on in and help you out.
3 If anyone offers to help out with it. Ask them what it is then they can do on mineCraft Moding. And If they can do alot ( Like make new things and what not. ) Then Lets them help and Sign them to one part of the programing.
This lets you get more work done. Once everyon is done. Put the Work all together and Bam a Fully done Mod.
What you kinda did/Let be done. Is Have only one person work on it and everything. But he too has a life and can't work on the mod everyday and what not. So He maybe taking a break, or something. Hint as to why have more people helping you make this mod. In case one person leaves for a break, or is in trouble or whatever.

Ummm. I understood a few things you typed there, but the rest is wtf? A lot of it didn't make sense...
I've had a very busy month at work, and I was also building my new hexacore computer which turned out to be more of a pain than anticipated.
In regards to the mod, I have not forgotten it, of course. I would like to continue working on it.
However, I would like to hand this into the hands of an already established modder who is interested. I mean no offense to those of you who did contact me, but I'd more assurance than you simply won't take the project and drop off the face of the planet, and leave me hanging, as some have already done.
I'm going to be trying to contact some of the other modders on both this forum and Bukkit to see if they are interested.
This is one of the most interesting ideas for a mod I've seen. I sincerely hope it gets finished and fully implemented in SMP. It would be an amazing building block for an immersive, dynamic, living and breathing world.
This is what should of been done.
1. Had him give you Copies of all the work that has been done so far ( If he has already continue on. If not then should be done with the next programer person that helps you)
[Read: Give the people who decide to help complete copies of everything that has been done.]
[My Comment: I would hope you do otherwise what would they work with]
2. Releast The Mod as a treaser. IMO this would Rise the Chance's of people wanting to move on in and help you out.

[Read: Interview potential modders, and ask them what they can do modding-wise, if they can do alot, then let them help you, and once everything is done, just throw it together, and, BAM! Mod done.]

i think the third one is closer to find someone that is good at lets say mobs and they work on mobs and then someone who is good at generation works on that so it gets done faster then they just put all the parts together to make the finished version
i think the last one is saying that there should be more than one person working on it so if one is taking a break the others can still work.

Hey, remember me? :tongue.gif:
I'm just curious, but do you actually have the source code that Choam was working on before he disappeared?
I'm sure he just disappeared because of real life. Lots of people do that. One day you see them, the next you won't.
You have to remember Choam started on this projecting intending to finish it on his own and never release it. He probably wasn't THAT committed to it... but I'm sure he'll turn up someday. But I'm sad to hear he 'disappeared'. I was looking forward to seeing all that he had done. He was a very good programmer. :smile.gif:
In any case, I may (or may not) be interested in finishing it up, depending on what there is left to do and what-not. Send me a PM.
I don't even know what you're trying to accomplish here.. The Yogcast does not create mods, they use others, if you thought they would help. Also, if you were thinking that they would showcase the mod, it's not even done yet.

well, when they finish this mod, then send it to the yogscast

I believe TroyFm adequately answered your artifact question last page:
I don't think Kirb's intent is to make crafting the primary source of equipment. Instead, I think he wants to leave the option of getting a piece of equipment early but at the cost of late game effectiveness
I see huge potential in this, especially combined with Adventurecraft. Overall, if these two stay compatible for a final product, Minecraft can become a better RPG than most RPGS currently out.

"It is easier to hate than to create."
I like the idea of this because People can explore more.
I give support to this idea.
You see that green button with the plus? You dont have to click it, and I am not gonna force you to do it.
