So I've followed many tutorials on how to install mods for minecraft (Specifically on mac) but a lot of them require MCforge and i can NEVER install it. One said completely ignore the net folder, another said replace only the minecraft.class file but that doesn't work either. I tried installing mods other than that like modloader, audiomod, and customspawner but they worked fine. Any help?
Did you, delete the meta-inf folder and used a program like winrar or 7zip to open up Forge mod and drag the files into the jar? All the files in Forge.

Yeah Meta-Inf is deleted and i dragged the .class files into the minecraft.jar
That's all you need to do, which version do you have you do not want the forge higher than 108 because many mods have not upgraded to accommodate that yet. I believe most modders have put any updates on hold until the new system is released.
Oh. Thanks. I messed up because of 2 things
1. I was using a version higher than 109
2. mod_arrows.class (Risugami's Elemental arrows mod) was conflicting with it.
I can install forge on mac but then the sound and music are switched off. When I try to turn on the sound my game crashes. I want Mo'Creatures
Thats easy to fix...... first you pull up the forge class files, and your pull up the minecraft.jar files.. You have to go into the paulscode folder in the forge jar, and open up the sound folder, and then open up the codecs folder. drag that codec class file into the mine craft.jar/paulscode/sound/codec folder. there you will see 2 other codec files.. just drag the forge codec with the other two codec files. Done!!!
