Alright so it's Zion here, and me and a friend of mine are pretty much stuck on a mod theme. So basically I am making this ridiculous post so that you guy's; the community can give us some idea's. Impulsive and I will determine which idea's we like the best and then we will see which one's we decide to make.
Could you go into a little more detail of what that would be?
Whoa! Wait, what? I expected this thread to flood with requests, so I just threw mine out there and forgot it. You probably moved on to a more important project (or your life) a long time ago, but in case you're still interested:
When I say mod, I mean something like a texture pack that looks like Vascillia County (the city from Zone Of Enders 2), and armor that allows you to fly, mobs that look like various Orbital Frames (Mummyhead-type, Raptor-type, Cyclops-type, Clod-type, Narita-type, Leopardo-type), mob spawners looking like Cellars.
I once tried to do this myself, but I'm terrible with visual art, as a writer, and gave up on the project. Doing it now seems even less possible due to the mass of new content that has come out...
Regardless, if you are still interested, I will help any way I can... Otherwise, perhaps I'll make a proper request thread and let it sit for a few years...

How about a swordsplay-rpg style mod? Like, swords are more realistic. For example, not just slashing up and down, but stabbing, slashing different ways, and maybe even shield-and-sword. Also more weapons. :tongue.gif:

There is a mod project called combat++ trying to do this, tho honestly its such a large undertaking (to get all weapons with a good range of semi-realistic attack motions) that anyone who contributed to this goal would probably be useful. I think the op meant more along the lines of a setting/theme tho than specific mechanics (they probably already have ideas for how they want to mod the mechanics), not sure though.

Ah, ok. Just checked Combat++ out, and it most likely won't come to 1.0 cause all of it's things are 1.8-stuff. I guess I'll just have to deal with the regular sword if it's such a large project :3

When I say such a large project, I don't just mean complexity. It's complex yes, much more so than adding for instance blocks, but a lot of it is also that there are so many different types of weapons. As it is now every weapon more or less acts the same in all situations but just does different damage. When I say its a huge project I'm more talking about taking mc's basic combat right now and tailoring the attacks, animations, ranges, performance against different armors, w/ different height advantages, so on and so forth for each weapon. To just get a BETTER combat system well obviously there's already combat++ which has made progress on one new attack (mebbe more since last time i checked) and chances are whatever technique he used COULD be used in the current release.
