Try to stay within realism with Minecraft. In your ideas, you have TOO much glowing stuff and too many various creature colors. Just one frog (greenish) and so on, no need for 5 different colors. Maybe want differently colored cows too now? Just don't. Also, glowing things are way too unrealistic. Maybe ONE glowing thing could be implented, but it should be REALLY RARE and HARD TO GET, because we already have glowstone.
Everything in Minecraft has a reason so far, many of your ideas lack them. Like what the hell do you get from the frogs, etc. Think them through.
Generally, I disagree with the unrealistic bit, but LOVE the idea of improving cave life. Try to follow the example of real-life caverns, make them interesting like that. Maybe add crystal caves. So, stil, a for you!
Minecraft has skeletons, zombies, giant spiders and green exploding penises.

what about those green guys?
how about piggies with lightning is zombie?
and anyway, lightstone is really hard to get. maybe if glowing stuff was less glowy?

Sticks and stones may break your bones but a diamond sword cuts your head off!

Realistic? Minecraft has a lot of elements that are unrealistic. (i.e. Slimes, no gravity, punching a tree = wood?) and the whole point of this mod wasn't to be ENTIRELY realistic. Frogs come in many different colours, as do other creatures. Glow worms are a part of the ecosystem in certain caves, and all of this is meant to make a cave more fun as well as SLIGHTLY more realistic, but not entirely realistic. Not everyone wants realism in a game.
Also: Not all of the things in Minecraft have a use, such as slimeballs (unless you get a mod for it). Frogs are meant to be like slimes in the way that they follow you.
like a mining helmet...
protects and lights 5 blovks around
That's what the 'glowing armour' was essentially for. :3 I don't know if you noticed, but it actually lights EXACTLY the same amount as your 'mining helmet' idea.
This is a very interesting idea. I was planning on making a mod for more plants/crops and food. The idea topic is here.
I understand you're trying to spread the word of your mod (we all need to) on this thread since it has quite a few views, but I'd appreciate it if you'd make a banner and leave it up to people to click or not there.
Textures and Modding IN PROGRESS? Seriously? Because I would really love this. I would LOVE overgrown caves and underwater caves with new mobs like you suggest. If Im honest I think this is putting the good elements of Terraria into Minecraft, but I love it. Im not suggesting that you stole your ideas out of that game though. Please, get this made :smile.gif:
I'd recommend using a tweaked version of that in your mod.
Good recomendation, but that was in the suggested ideas from other people in the forums, not my idea. x3
Also, a little collaboration could be made, although I think it'd be best if we kept our ideas seperate, for the most part. :3 Don't want two mods that are nearly the same, no?

I actually took no ideas from Terraria, just to clear things up. xD I formulated most of the ideas in this post before Terraria was even released. And, this is getting made. We're still waiting on the modder for the most part (It IS a big mod) but it should be done sometime within the next few months (hopefully). The modder is still working on it, so there's not a solid release date.
I've got another idea, theres cavemen right? How about even deeper underground, theres zombie cavemen.
Possible, but I'm not sure if they'd go well together. :3 As for right now, it's difficult to contact the modder to add new things, anyhow. He's been very nice in just creating the mod in its entirety, so it'd be possible in another update maybe?
I already posted the stalactite idea :sleep.gif:
YES!!!!
And if you cannot tell, I loves me some CAVE STORY!
Call me Quote. Not 'Quoterox', 'Rox', and definitely not 'Roxie'.
Sorry for not paying attention then :smile.gif:

If I get the textures, I'll do this. I can make textures, but... surprizingly I'm too lazy to do that, but not too lazy to do the actual modding...
word of warning- it's not going to be EVERYTHING you wanted, but I can definitely make most of it work lol.
[edit] bah... w/e, lol, if you guys need help since it's fairly large, lemme know what you need done. [edit]
Already have a modder and texturers. Thanks for offering, though. :3
lol no problem. Again, just lemme know if you guys run into any roadblocks, I'll try to fill in any blanks I can.

Good for you. Hope you get lots of publicity.

Also, your "Crawler" idea seems a lot like the Tunnel Mite-
