Being able to choose your element without casting would be nice, but over specializing would be a huge problem. Perhaps the other affinity spells could be used at a large disadvantage?
How about getting a new battery and trying again?
If that doesn't work then try removing the battery and placing it again.
If that still doesn't work then try connecting it to a conduit then linking it to the battery.
I once had this bug and one of those three above suggestions seemed to work for me.
Still not working? I am at lost as to what to do. Go into creative and refund your stuff (that's what I would do.)
I already tried the first two before posting, I'll try the third now and cross my fingers - if not I'll probably do what you suggested lol

That could work. I mean, if you want, you can put answers to everything.
You can say that a fire mage can use the create water spell by using their mastery over heat to lower the heat in an area, causing the moisture in the air to condense until it forms water.
You can say that a water mage can use ignite by turning water into it's base elements(hydrogen and oxygen, two extremely flammable gasses), then using their mana as energy in it's purest form to ignite the gasses.
And you can say that a earth mage can use the flight spell by using their mana to 'solidify' the dust and particles in the air and walking on them
There could be disadvantages such as a fire mage's create water spell can only make water 'flow' blocks, a air mage's dig spell needs the 'channel' shape to work properly, etc
I've also heard that setting the staged compendium to false and deleting the compendiumunlocks file for that world has helped some people with it as well. Would be worth a shot?
You know, the original problem about that picture was never addressed; Can the squids be magi? And, if they can, can they have pointy hats?
You realize a yes to this means an add on must be made tto make orespawn attack squids mages and the kraken a grand squizzard with a beard and the biggest hat you've ever seen?
Hey Mith, i fail to see the Explosion component, even though it is posted in the wiki. I guess i could substitute Dig for it, but i was wondering if there is a possible way to make an explosion component perhaps? I miss having explosions in ars magica......

ya I think the boots will be fun to your freinds on the ground in multiplayer and you walk in on the ceiling I can't guess how you would obtain them though maybe an ender guardian?
Hello, I am The Madman, a map maker and a master blood mage. I am currently working on making a "Magic island" map where you are stuck on, well, a desert island. Currently, I am having a bit of a problem: Getting ars magica flowers in the middle of the ocean. I've had a few ideas(Trying to smuggle them out of the spirit world, finding them in the moo moo farm...). I came here to ask if there is some way to artificially grow your magic flowers, seeing how much they are needed for this mod.

Bonemeal works okay for Blue Orchids and Tarma roots, but I don't know how to grow the Novas. Perhaps the grow component will do that. Growing Witchwood trees will cause Aums to grow under them, like those flowers under Silverwood trees, but Witchwood saplings are hard to get.

Yeah chocolate is right, you can use a growth spell. The best way to use it is touch-aoe-growth
I hate to be "that guy" but I was wondering if you've any plans to improve the effects of the spells? I ask because Ars Magica 1 had some pretty cool particle effects on its spells, and some of the spells (like Magelight) just looked alot better then their Ars Magica 2 counterparts. I've seen something about a "beta particle menu" in the controls options but it never did anything... am I missing something?

Sorry if this was already awnsered - I've been having massive computer problems - but, if there are no casting modes in 1.2, then will dig be able to mine obsidian? Will all components just be basically in augmented, all the time?
I think I heard something about modifiers improving the power of the spell, but I'm not sure. I dare say it'll take a lot of mana to mine a block, though, judging by current prices.

The pools spawn rather frequently in "magic" biomes, and since TF is one giant magic biome, yeah, you'll see them there.

However, I believe Malexion is working on an addon that will add that component, and many others.
