At first my harvester was working fine when shearing leaves getting saplings and leave blocks but after a couple mins it no longer got saplings, if i harvested a tree manually with shears i get tons of saplings but my auto tree farm is dying because im not getting saplings for my planter to plant from my harvester, is this normal with the shears function of the harvester?
Currently the fruit picker will "pick" forestry chestnuts and walnuts (IE: the leaf will go from ripe to not ripe) however nothing drops, and the machine itself does not register that it did anything (IE: it uses up no power).
I've tried placing the fruit picker at different heights and different distances away from the trees, and using different power sources, and placing chests and other storage means (dsu etc) on different sides of the fruit picker, everything ends up with the same result, no nuts, but the appearance of harvesting.

I can't provide enough info for Sky because there is no crash report, it just crashes the game just sits there and then nothing happens. I've tried waiting for around 10 minuets nothing happened so then i have to unplug my comp and plug it back in and thats all.

Something I'd like to suggest for the Planter. Currently it only plants on the first level (above the soil) so if you're using cocoa beans and a fruit picker you can only automate one layer of planting. Would it be possible to add a "Vertical" upgrade that can fit into the planter's slot and extend it's range upwards?
The problem is I'm trying to make very compact automated farms, and while I can farm Mana Beans and Cocoa this way I feel like I'm not using the Fruit Picker to it's fullest potential since it will harvest more than just the first layer if planted, coupled with the fact that the harvester used to work the same way (before the introduction of the fruit picker as the main harvester for tree based plant life) it kind of feels like I'm being forced to replace one machine with a machine that in theory is better for this except that we can't take full advantage of it because we don't have the tools to do so. (in summary it's only as effective as the harvester was, despite being a better option.)
Edit: I read this and felt I was unclear about exactly what I wanted, it kind of struck me as an "Constructive Criticism" with all the criticism and none of the constructive, which was not the point at all. What I want is a way to upgrade the planter so that it can plant upwards along a stack of wood (so if I have three wood pieces on top of eachother it will plant Cocoa on all three pieces of wood rather than just the bottom one). This would allow us to take full advantage of the fruit picker which will pick everything on a stack of logs rather than just what's on the bottom.

Anyways, as I was saying. I had 13 MFR Rubber Tree Saplings. I decided I wanted to start harvesting them using a planter/harvester MFR farm setup. However, none of the rubber tree saplings would bonemeal. I was confused by this, and decided to just leave 'em and see what happened. Over time, each of the 9 planted by the Planter has turned into a Sacred Rubber Tree sapling (and this is why googling for this issue is difficult. The googles have been flooded by "BY THE HOLY BALLS OF ZEUS LOOK AT THIS GIANT TREE". Rightfully so, I'd say. Still, hard to google, it does make this issue).
I am under the impression that SRT saplings are supposed to be relatively rare drops or dungeon loot, and the only thing I can think of that might cause this is some kind of config/ID issue that is only noticed by the game upon a block update / random tick check. They are definitely regular MFR Rubber Tree Saplings before I put them in the planter, after they have been planted by the planter, and only change after an unknown period of time.Anyone able to confirm or deny my suspicions on this? I am willing to provide screenshots for step-by-step proof, I did grab and save a few of the wonky saplings.
I already have that and it performs well. I was actually hoping for something similar to the quantum tank from GregTech with the immense volume it can hold, except without the -- you know -- implicit hardmode it forces on you for every IC2 component not even added by the addon.
Well one crude system I came up with was using two DSU, hoppers, itemducts and pair of fluid transposers, along with an AE system and a bee auto-farm to produce wax capsules. Fluid goes into first transposer, gets put into a wax capsule, gets put into first DSU. Filled wax capsules get hoppered into a second fluid transposer pumping fluid out, empty wax capsules go to second DSU hoppering into the first fluid transposer.

Read up the forum a bit - those are regular sapling with an internal flag issue. They do not generate anything but normal trees. Too small a bug to push a fix.
I am having an issue on a server. When I log off of my server, not shutting it down, when i log back into it, all the Planters I placed and put in certain things to grow in certain spots will be gone. I've tried saving the server while I was on it to see if it would matter and it doesn't. Is there some way to fix the planter to keep my data?

Quick question... I updated from 2.7.5 to 2.7.8 and all of my steam turbines stopped working. I had them next to Aqueous Accumulators and all was well, now they will not accept water as an input. Was this change on purpose or a bug, I didn't see it in the change log.

That would have been a bug, since steam turbines are meant to convert railcraft steam, or any other type of steam, into power.

Edit: just to be clear, we've had multiple people scouring the server for hours. Dynamp has filled 4gb+ of space with our searching. It's not like we're just not looking hard enough. We've scoured swamps, bogs, marshes, rivers, jungles... created multiple single player worlds and scoured them too...
It's messed up because just two weeks ago on our old server we had no trouble finding them.
Update: nevermind, found the issue. Apparently some mod decided to reconfigure MFR. Fixed the config and all is well.

I am under the impression that SRT saplings are supposed to be relatively rare drops or dungeon loot, and the only thing I can think of that might cause this is some kind of config/ID issue that is only noticed by the game upon a block update / random tick check. They are definitely regular MFR Rubber Tree Saplings before I put them in the planter, after they have been planted by the planter, and only change after an unknown period of time.Anyone able to confirm or deny my suspicions on this? I am willing to provide screenshots for step-by-step proof, I did grab and save a few of the wonky saplings.

Well one crude system I came up with was using two DSU, hoppers, itemducts and pair of fluid transposers, along with an AE system and a bee auto-farm to produce wax capsules. Fluid goes into first transposer, gets put into a wax capsule, gets put into first DSU. Filled wax capsules get hoppered into a second fluid transposer pumping fluid out, empty wax capsules go to second DSU hoppering into the first fluid transposer.

Read up the forum a bit - those are regular sapling with an internal flag issue. They do not generate anything but normal trees. Too small a bug to push a fix.

That would have been a bug, since steam turbines are meant to convert railcraft steam, or any other type of steam, into power.
Anyone else having issues with 2.7.8 not generating rubber trees in the worldgen? :\
Edit: just to be clear, we've had multiple people scouring the server for hours. Dynamp has filled 4gb+ of space with our searching. It's not like we're just not looking hard enough. We've scoured swamps, bogs, marshes, rivers, jungles... created multiple single player worlds and scoured them too...
It's messed up because just two weeks ago on our old server we had no trouble finding them.
Update: nevermind, found the issue. Apparently some mod decided to reconfigure MFR. Fixed the config and all is well.
