I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.

i think the defining factor of the worth of an item is the amount of lucrum it has.
you can feed him phials of lucrum, and he will probably start trading with you.
I feel kind of stupid. How do I get Thaumcraft to work with the most recent update of Minecraft? And no super-technical stuff please. Also, does it still have the portal runes?

to answer this question, you would have to give us any information, why its not working for you.
at all.
is it crashing? or are you using the wrong version of forge? what did you do so far to try and get it working?
"super technical stuff" is relative. for some people, who are entirely new to modding, setting up forge and solving id conflicts might already be super technical. while its basic stuff for people who are used to working with mods.

I have pretty much no idea how to set up mods. I read that I had to do something with the bin folder and/or minecraft.jar file but I seem to be missing both of those. I have version 1.7.4 of Minecraft if that helps.

1-block above... Does that solve the pathing issues? I didn't think about raising the logs up.
Yeah, the golem runs around underneath the logs and harvests the beans that are 1 block over his head. The same golem also harvests some crops I planted under the logs (netherwart, melons, pumpkins and potatoes). I did need to build a bridge up to the top of the logs, though, since sometimes the beans land on top of the logs and without a bridge the harvester can't get at them.

There is no mod support for 1.7, and there won't be for months. They need to update the Minecraft Coder Pack, then Forge, then the individual modders need to update their own mods, and the code for 1.6 mods will not translate easily to 1.7.
You want a farm, you grab a hoe. You want a boat, you grab some wood. You want a fireplace, you grab A FLAMING HELL-BOULDER BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MINECRAFTERS ROLL!!!

If that's the case, then is there a way to go back to a previous version of MC so that I can use this mod?

however. the 1.74 launcher allows to play on older versions of minecraft.

what you have to do is the following.
- start the minecraft launcher. set up a new profile for minecraft version 1.6.4 (bottom left corner. "new profile" then "use version:" 1.6.4)
- start minecraft 1.6.4 once. thats it, you can close it again. you dont have to create an actual game, just get into the main menu screen before closing.
- download and install forge 9.11.1.953
forge is the basis for all your mods. you dont need to screw around with the minecraft jar anymore. just download and execute the installer.
- start your launcher again, and edit your profile to "use release: 1.6.4 forge 9.11.1.953"
- start minecraft once. forge is now setting up necessary files and folders. you will see if it worked, when there is a new "mods" button in the main menu, and some information on the bottom left. close minecraft again
- download thaumcraft 4, and open up the minecraft directory. forge has created a new folder "mods". thats where you put thaumcraft.
every other mod you want to install just goes into the mod folder
you can still play vanilla minecraft 1.7.4 if you create a separate profile for it.
just a sidenote in case. make regular backups of your world. sometimes gamebreaking bugs can occur when youre playing with a lot of mods, and youre updating. something like that usually shouldnt happen, but it never hurts to be safe.

Thank you for helping, also what mods would work well with Thaumcraft? Any suggestions?

no problem. there are a ton of different mods out there, that work well with thaumcraft.
thaumic tinkerer 2 is an addon mod, thats really nice.
but i also like to use a lot of utility mods in tandem with thaumcraft. just some off the top of my head are. iron chests, ender storage, project red is generally a nice improvement on the vanilla redstone mechanic, biblio craft adds a lot of aesthetic items and blocks, biomes o plenty, mystcraft, defenitely NEI, and twilight forest is an amazing adventure oriented mod.
im currently trying out mods like better dungeons and ars magica 2.

I play with Highlands (worldgen mod that adds biomes and new trees/wood), and when the 1.6.4 updates for them come out I'm planning to add Algaecraft (deep oceans, coral, kelp, seafood) and Growthcraft (crops, bamboo, booze, compatible with TC harvesters).

One more question, what happened to the Runic Essences for making portals?
thaumcraft 4 doesnt have player teleportation (yet).
its hinted, that there might be a teleportation system in the future with magic mirrors. mystcraft is a good way to get around with portals until then.

Well - MCP was released like a week ago. Forge was finished this morning (Beta) so everyone is attempting to update now, need to get use to this dev environment.... (Gradle...)

Ok, Thaumcraft is asking for Forge 7.8.0.688, however, I have Forge 7.8.0.684, if I download this update to forge, will it negativly affect my 11 other mods, rendering them unplayable? B/C I WANT this Thaumcraft mod, but I'm not sure if the update will force me to redownload the other mods, I am using 1.5.2 ATM.

TC4 is a 1.6.4 mod, so updating to its level will definitely break your other mods unless they have 1.6.4 versions of their own. The current recommended Forge is (I believe) 9.11.1.953. It's probably asking for 7.8.0.688 b/c that's the latest 1.5.2 recognizes, but TC4 will not run on it.
You could try TC3, which is a 1.5.2 mod, but it's not the same mod as TC4 and might leave you with some bad habits when/if you do switch to 1.6.

because the mod has been rewritten from the ground up. and teleportation simply hasnt been added yet.
