Minecraft exited with code 1.
Minecraft has crashed!
First, go into your "versions" folder in your .minecraft folder. Find the 1.5.1 version folder. Copy that folder, but keep it in the versions folder. Then, rename the copy to something else. For this example, "1.5.1Aether". Rename the copy to that. IF YOU WANT TO NAME IT SOMETHING ELSE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU NAME EVERYTHING ELSE IN THIS TUTORIAL THAT SAYS 1.5.1AETHER TO THE SAME THING.
Then, open up the 1.5.1Aether folder. There should be 2 files: 1.5.1.jar, and 1.5.1.json. Rename these to 1.5.1Aether.jar and 1.5.1Aether.json. Open up the .json file with notepad. There should be a lot of random text, but look at the beginning of the first line. You should see a spot that says "1.5.1". Replace that with "1.5.1Aether". DO NOT REMOVE THE QUOTES AROUND IT. Then save and close the .json.
After that, install Forge, Player API, and Render Player API like you would normally do onto the 1.5.1Aether.jar file. Run the Minecraft Launcher.
In the top right of the launcher, click "New Profile". Set the name to something (it doesn't matter what you name it). Open the "versions" dropdown list and select "1.5.1Aether". Then click save. Run Minecraft on that profile to make sure everything is working. Then close Minecraft.
Go back to your .minecraft folder. You should notice that Forge created a lot more folders, including a "mods" folder. Place the Aether's .zip file in there. Then run Minecraft on the new profile again.
If it works, congratulations! You've installed the Aether correctly. If it fails, you probably missed something in this tutorial.
Two things to note, though:
1. The "mods" folder is shared throughout profiles. A few things that could happen with other versions being used:
WITH FORGE:
If the version is 1.5.1, it will use the Aether.
If the version is NOT 1.5.1, it may crash the game or ignore the mod.
WITHOUT FORGE:
If the version does not have forge installed, it will ignore the "mods" folder completely.
2. If you are not using separate folders for each profile (you can set what folders profiles use when editing the profile), then worlds may have some problems. Make sure that if you're NOT using a 1.5.1 Forge profile that you do NOT open a world with Aether content on it. Doing this could result in the deletion of all of your Aether items, the portal, and the entire Aether dimension itself (in that world).
Well, everytime someone posts a update request it bumps the thread back up to the top of the list, meaning more views and more money if those extra views download.
Ohh yeah, that thought never crossed my mind. Yeah i reckon you are right, but still constructive/positive comments>update pls
bug:if you use the continuum orb... even if you get a non buggy item.... it renders your world unusable unless you know how to get rid of it from you player.dat or something
I'm likely just missing something obvious, but in case I am not. I am having a bit of an issue. I am using 1.5.2, and NOT installing clean. :-P I am running into block id conflicts with my other mods. So I went to the Aether II config file....and it's empty. <.< I've looked around my .minecraft stuff and can not find any other then the one in the config folder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)

delete all your mods in your mods folder (cept the folders with ur mods folder)
dont delete the aether jar, let it run fully and get to menu (prolly should go straight into a new world)
The config file will then have all the stuff in it.
Also how do you fix a ID Name Conflict (as in two mods are aparently using Freezer and even if you change said mods names so they dont conflict it will still crash MC)
need a figgin ID Resolver but the only one that works is only for 1.5.1 which sucks cuse the author still hasn't updated it to 1.5.2 and its been out for awhile now.
I'm using MultiMC, build #88, if that changes anything.

Just read some other posts before you make one yourself, okay?
We've had WAY more than enough people point that out.
We need a crash report to help you.
It should be in roaming\.minecraft\crash=reports.
