I agree. Minecraft just wouldn't be right if there were curves and circles.
To each, his own. i personally love the idea. the only reason i dont use this mod is for that reason. i want a curve instead of a big hole where a knee/elbow/rear should go. so this could be a nice alternative for people like me:)
@betterfake123:
The reason that the two mods don't work, and likely never will, is because Smart Movement uses the default player API and model, whereas Animated Player recodes the player model. Either Smart Movement would have to add in coding to use hippomaster's model, or hippomaster would have to have access to the source coding for Smart Movement to be able to add responses to his model for their animation inputs.
@Death_Dealer:
Minecraft is made of blocks because of how it renders things. It places textures on polygon frames, and uses a simple floating position format to determine the placement of models in the world. To have a "curvy" model like the one you have suggested would be obscenely difficult to implement, because it would require an entirely new rendering system to be able to display. This, in turn, would make this an extremely resource-intensive mod to use, and would decrease mod usage appreciably. Perhaps if you were to get into contact with hippomaster, though, he could provide you some pointers as to how you could go about making your own mod for personal use that adds this type of model.
Very awesome mod i must say but i'm growing bored of it because it isn't being updated anymore please update this mod to at least 1.7.2 minectaft. much appreciated!

Loading 3d models is not "resource intensive". i put a the lowest amount of polygons on this model as possible. so much that hippo asked for a higher res model. ive mapped the cylinders to the steve.png that hippo created, the bits he added in particular. and if you dont beleave loading .obj files will NOT stress your computer try 3D-Craft out, its all .obj's. and again to each his own. oh and BTW forge has a .obj importer built in. so implementation is already done.
Well then, if this could be implemented without resource stress, then by all means go to it. While I wouldn't much like it, personally, if this were to replace the current Animated player model, it would likely soar as a separate mod. This does open the doors for the possibility of a grand rewrite of how Minecraft appears that I have been considering though...

seprate mod, what like 3d-craft? what have you been considering?
I never thought I would say this sentence, but it's not working! I'm running Minecraft 1.6.4 with Forge .965. I placed the mod in the client mod folder.. The funny thing is that everything loads up just fine! In the mods-tab it's up and running, but the animation is not showing. I've tried several texture packs as well as vanilla..
