I'm not going to hate. I'm just going to state my honest opinion as constructive feedback and NOT hate.
It's fine that a mod is inspired from another. That's perfectly fine. But that's not my main problem.
My problem has nothing to do with the Aether at all, it's the way the world looks and the mobs. The land doesn't look like a Nether recolour which is awesome. Props for that. The world looks sort of bland though. If there were some unique biomes and more unique ruins and structures, the landscape would look really good. Colour wise, the colours look pretty strange. The purple dirt and green grass just doesn't tile in together and makes the world look really wonky and crazy. That's the same problem I had with the Aether. But I sort of got over it. I would suggest changing the glow stone portal to a quartz frame. It would look better
As far as mob go, they look bland. They don't look unique, with completely different, custom models, they look like recolours of current mobs and textures. A lot of them I find boring and make your mod look like just another crappily done dimension mod, which is usually said about Nether recolours. I don't want that to be thought about this mod. I like that its unique from a lot of dimension mods. And I think if you gave the world a recolour and a bit of generation and mob make over, you could have a very unique, cool dimension in your hands.
I apologize if you take this as flaming or hate, it's not meant to be. Just constructive feedback and advice.
The Aether is being re-released, yes, but they are obviously behind their projected schedule. Go back a few pages and see the "March 25 doom and gloom for this mod" rants the fanboys spat out.
March 25 came and went with no change. Reminds me of the 2012 Mayan apocalypse warning, or that evangelist that claimed "the end of the world" like 3 times in one year when he was wrong... it's quite amusing actually. Anyway, with the new Aether being delayed, this mod gives people a chance to get their fix with a similar mod.
Finally, what's the problem with another modder creating an homage to the original mod? The OP clearly stated this mod was influenced by the Aether (which hasn't had a publicly released update since 1.2.5 or so). The fact that Aether 2 is coming is a non-issue IMO.
The only thing that matters here is if the Aether team feels the Ether is too similar and decides to take legal action. I'm sure by now someone has directed their attention to this thread, and if the OP hasn't seen any issues from them, then I suppose things continue.
Hey never had an "official" release date. They told everyone to take everything with a grain of salt. It's a huge mod with a huge make over. It's coming out this month however. It's close to release but they have no idea when. They say it'll be done when its done.

Then where did March 25 come from? It's even used in a thread title on these forums. If it wasn't from the Aether team, then it further supports the "rabid fanboy" aspect as they somehow got a specific date stuck in their close-minded heads.

I'm trying to take a new path to the mod, I already have plans and even appreciate that wants to help,
but just compare the aether with the ether will not help anyone.

The March 25 was an estimate and the fanboys took it as fact when it most most likely not going to be released by then.
Maybe, but just compare the aether with the ether will not help anyone.
When did I say that? I was referring to the people screaming "March 25" at you and everyone here. I know, I'm not innocent I am at fault but I did change my way of thinking.
Oh yeah damoniy, did you see the post above about my feedback on the mod? I just wanted to make sure so that you knew.
Erm I haven't seen any mobs yet and I have been playing the whole day. Do they rarely spawn? And what about the aquamarine and the gems. How am I supposed to get them? And how am I supposed to craft the Bow of Topaz?
Also, you are ripping off the purple trees from aether.
This would be a really cool mod if you weren't ripping off aether. I just noticed, add an "A" before "Ether". What do you get? Aether. Try and make something different, the portal is the same thing as aether too.
Like the guy above who posted, do not consider this as hate or flaming. Im just giving feedback.
Purple trees are owned by nobody but the Aether? I better go warn DivineRPG for "ripping it off". By this logic, all mods that have a variant of the grass block are ripping off vanilla.
I just noticed, remove the "A" from Aether, add "N". What do you get? Nether. Obviously the Aether is a Nether ripoff, therefore unoriginal.
If you consider this hate or flame, realise I'm using the same arguments you are, just replacing/swapping the involved parties.
That said, I'll give you the portal. I think it should be changed.
The aether team IS updating. Look at their facebook, it's going to be released very soon.
Also, you are ripping off the purple trees from aether. Look in the spoiler to the left.

So the Aether team own purple trees? I think I should go warn DivineRPG then and any other mods that use purple trees. Oh what's that, they made their own dimension too? Let me guess, he copied that too, huh?

I feel like im the only aether fan that doesnt complain
There's a difference between a fan and a fanboy. Fans can actually give constructive criticism and perhaps even enjoy an homage to their object of affection. Fanboys, not so much.

Then again, Aether and Nether are both real words. I dont know if Ether is.
Please explain. I'm not sure I understand your definition of a "real world". Last I checked, Minecraft creates a virtual world, and Aether, Nether, Sky, Ether, etc. are dimensions.
As for these haters, I'm just gonna start reporting posts. I'll say it again - if the Aether team has a problem with Ether, they'll do something about it. Until then, fanboys can "cry moar" QQ.

More angry Aether fanboys? Check.
A reasonably strong defense put up by Damoniy's fans? Check.
And an update?!? Woah, that wasn't on the list, let's check this out...
First off: the new textures are helping a whole lot, the greater visual distinction does start to move this away from the Aether a whole bunch. The thing that I am skeptical about, however, is the purple trees. Not just because the Aether has purple trees now, but because they kind of clash with the landscape. (To be honest, it looks as thought the trees were colored by a kid going ham with a highlighter.)
The colors for the grass and new plants/fruit look natural, but with the trees, they seem like plastic yard ornaments I'm afraid. The wood texture could also be a bit less uniform: from a distance they just look like plain poles instead of real wood. The thing about the Aether's purple trees is the fact that they go with the landscape. Most textures use "cool" colors, so the trees are a more "cool", washed-out purple which fits in with the overall scheme. The tree problem here is that they don't fit your overall scheme right now.
Also, it would be good to have several kinds of tree instead of just all purple. Once you have biomes, I could imagine grasslands with a few sparse trees, colored in a fiery orange, and dense jungles of purple trees. Having ordinary green trees isn't bad either. with the current look, I feel that blue trees would be a better change as the "normal" tree of the ether, with the proposed purple and orange having some special drop either from the wood or leaves.
Another texture quibble: the dirt is a little bit too green to look like dirt, you know what I'm saying? The old aether-esque blue/grey wouldn't work with the current grass, but vanilla dirt would be bad too... I'm thinking maybe a lighter kind of dirt, like a mix between the vanilla sand and dirt textures.
Now, I have another idea for moving your mod away from the Aether: fixing the portal. The original nether portal was a doorway. The Aether mirrored that with glowstone. Ok, cool. Now lets look at other dimension mods: some use doorways of new materials, but the thing that jumps to my mind as unique is the Twilight forest, which instead uses a pool of water transformed by throwing in a diamond.
Now, what can you do, Damoniy? Imagine this: a beacon portal. It could be a little pryamid/altar of glowstone or what have you. (hey, maybe even nether quartz!) You would then craft some kind of "portal focus", maybe out of gold/diamond, and right-click the top block with the focus, placing it on top. A beam of light shoots up to the sky, and when you step in it, you're whisked off to the Ether!
Sorry if the post is a bit long, all kinds of stuff jumped into my head.
Lol, Digimon. x3
Here's another image:
Coming Soon:

Can you name it? Post your suggestion in the comments!
any solution?
Give me the crash file to I can see it.

The name Aether is copied from the Nether.
