Awesome mod, been making a lot of use of the shelves and now tables in my builds.
I tried to create a special puzzle with the redstone book, one where the player has to toss it into a trash receptacle (pit with running water}. The water deposits the book into a hopper which then transports it successfully into the bookshelf set up with redstone to open a secret door. Unfortunately the book only activates the redstone if placed there by player hand and will not work as I'd like it to when transported to the shelf by other means.
I won't beg, but if it is possible to alter this to work when the book it placed via non-player hand it would be awesome.
Hi,
I made a mod called Village Taverns, and I'de like to add support for your wonderful Bibliocraft mod. The idea is If my mod detects your mod during world creation, it will substitute your bookshelf for the default one in the taverns.
But to do that, I'de need a way to create an ItemStack( [yourbookshelf], 1 )
Also, it would be fun if I could populate your bookshelf with a few random books from other mods. To do that would require access to some sort of container put function.
Do you have an API or includable class file that would allow me to do these two things?
I don't know whether this is a bug or intentional but I can't place normal books on anything.
If this isn't a bug please make it so normal books can at least be placed on bookshelves. I don't want to have to waist ink sacks and feathers to make the book and quill just to place the book on the bookshelf.
Isn't a bug, it can be configurable in the config file the issue of allow put normal books in the bookshelves.
Hey, just wanted to stop by and let you know that I love the mod! I love having places to actually display things, and some bookshelves that actually hold books. Keep up the good work!
Got crash with Better storage. Problem with rendering backpack on armor stand
This is related to how I pass an entity to get the armor model. I tried to create a FakePlayer but it still gets detected as null on the other end, so until I find a solution on my end, I basically have to hope that mothers who add 3D armors do a null check on the entity. I talked to copyboy after he alerted me of this problem and he said he added a null check and this should be fixed in the current or next release.
Maybe you should make Wall Clocks, and Phonographs! (If you right click it with a disc it will play it and the disc has a little spinning animation. That would be so cool!
I think wall clocks can already kind of be done with vanilla clocks and frames.
A phonograph would be interesting. I do want to do something with discs, but not sure if I want to do anything that fancy. I'll kept it in mind though and think about this idea more as I work on something disc related when I get around to it.
I love the looks of this mod! Between this and Jammy's furniture mod, some much needed blocks have been added to break the monotony of "same old blocks" for building a home. I had some ideas for some gothic elements that i thought would be neat. i.e. gargoyle blocks, coffin, church bell, pile of bones, engrave-able headstones, and wrought iron fence.
Again. Great work!
I would enjoy the gothic elements, but they almost seem like they need more of a gothic / graveyard themed mod to fit better in so I am not sure I would really want to add any of that to BiblioCraft. They are cool ideas though.
I'd really like to see some sort of disc rack for music discs while we're on the topic. They clog up my storage really quickly.
On the list for sure. I plan to do some sort of disc storage that works well for music discs as well as computer discs and stuff because I do a lot of computercraft stuff as well.

Currently, no, I don't have any sort of API. But you sir just made an excellent case as to why I should considering having one.
I really like this idea. It would be great too if you could generate with some books. Maybe I'll looking into adding an API and adding that stuff then maybe I could also open up other blocks in a similar way so one could generate shelves with stuff on them or armor stands with armor or something, that would be awesome.
I really hadn't thought about anyone doing this kind of stuff so I really hadn't even considered doing an API before now so I think after I get caught up on a few other things I am working on I will see about putting together an API.

I was testing this and I am thinking its that your transporting the book into an empty shelf? One idea to solve that within your game is to pre-fill the bookcase up to a certain point with book and quills or something. Then the redstone book will go into the next avalible slot. You could effectively set the output strength to any number by pre-filling the bookcase with (desiredStrength - 1) books.
Using a hopper I didn't seem to have any issues with the redstone signal updating (providing there is at least 1 slot on the bookcase pre-filled, the first slot doesn't output redstone by design), so let me know if that is the issue.
Nuchaz, would you consider adding a weapon stand that was more showy? something more similar to http://www.minecraft...d-pedestal-111/? It would be nice to have a better way to show off weapons next to our awesome Armor stands
I might consider doing something like that after 1.6 if he still doesn't update. That was a neat mod, its too bad he hasn't updated. I would do it in a different way a bit. So yeah, I might eventually, but no definite plans at this point.
Hello, maybe someone asked you this question before but I can't find the answer ^^'
Which software did you use for the lamp and the table? I guess it's not techne but I don't know which one is it
Hit'
Correct you are. I used Techne for all but the table/lamps. For the table lamps I used 3Ds Max 2013. That is thanks to Forge adding built in support for .obj models, which are much easier to deal with but from a modeling perspective and from a coding perspective. You can download a free trial or you are a college student you can sign up and get a free student licence. There is other great options though. I used 3DS Max because I've used it off and on for the last 10 years so I am quite familiar with it. For a totally free 3D package that can output obj I would recommend checking out Blender, its quite good.
You still have the core.yml the LWC
for mods like BiblioCraft?
I don't have a copy saved. I guess if the link is broken I need to remove it from my post. Perhaps one of the fine folks who visit this forum may have a copy of the old one or have a new one they wouldn't mind sharing.

I was unaware, I will test it and if I continue to have troubles I will let ya know. Appreciate the info!
Could someone tell me how I can fix this error enchantment duplicate? really wanted to play with these two incredible mods
Hey dude sorry it took a little to respond. If you look in your .minecraft/config folder, you should see the Bibliocraft config file there, just right click and edit it with an appropriate word editor such as wordpad, and you can change the id that is conflicting. Hope that helps!
Love the mod, it makes my buildings seem more full and complete.... however I've found it causes an unusual amount of lag. As in cutting my framerate from 175 down to 40 without shaders enabled. I had a hard time believing it was caused by a dozen shelves and bookcases, but breaking them caused my framerate to skyrocket back up. I wish I had an error log or something to show you, but there is no crash or anything, just massive lag.
It should be mentioned this happens with or without optifine installed, I know optifine cause often cause weird bugs like this so I made sure to isolate it. To illustrate my point:
On the left is the pie chart showing the rendering tasks a safe distance from my home. Its pretty even. On the right shows the rendering tasks once you approach my home. As you can see, entity rendering is through the roof. In particular its tile entities. Is there anything that can be done about this?

I'm sure, if you get around to it, what ever implementation you do will be awesome.
Getting this crash, not all the time, but every third time or so i try to load a map with Bibliocraft stuff in it, then after it happens I can't get in at all.

i love this mod because of its usefulness and also because i can use the desk ( and also the table) in my study to read in front of the fireplace (dont worry i got a mod that adds a fireplace so it wont burn my study down) i also use the desks and tables for the school im making.. i have a book and quill on top of the table and textbooks so they can write notes
could you change the lamps and the table to a more 'blocky' feel?
i just prefer to keep the minecraft feel
thanks for your consideration!
That would be so cool.
for mods like BiblioCraft?
Isn't a bug, it can be configurable in the config file the issue of allow put normal books in the bookshelves.
Sorry for my english. = )

I think wall clocks can already kind of be done with vanilla clocks and frames.
A phonograph would be interesting. I do want to do something with discs, but not sure if I want to do anything that fancy. I'll kept it in mind though and think about this idea more as I work on something disc related when I get around to it.
I would enjoy the gothic elements, but they almost seem like they need more of a gothic / graveyard themed mod to fit better in so I am not sure I would really want to add any of that to BiblioCraft. They are cool ideas though.
I might consider doing something like that after 1.6 if he still doesn't update. That was a neat mod, its too bad he hasn't updated. I would do it in a different way a bit. So yeah, I might eventually, but no definite plans at this point.
That's the entire point behind there being an option in the config file to manually add things to bookshelves, tool racks, and potion shelves.
Just add whatever you want to be placed on the shelves to the config, and you'll be good to go. No real need to add anything to the default.
Hey dude sorry it took a little to respond. If you look in your .minecraft/config folder, you should see the Bibliocraft config file there, just right click and edit it with an appropriate word editor such as wordpad, and you can change the id that is conflicting. Hope that helps!
