You need to fill the lava tank with lava to fuel the smeltery. Right-click the tank with a bucket of lava to add the lava to the tank.
Ah! That's what it was... I knew I was missing something stupid, thanks for clearing it up for me .
EDIT: Okay, now I'm pretty solid on how to navigate this mod, although I'd like to know how to make a hammer. I have a iron tool rod and hammer head, but I don't see a hammer slot on the tool station. Anyone got any helpful tips?

You need a tool forge, which is just an upgraded tool station. It is crafted with a tool station in the middle, 3 seared brick blocks along the top of the grid and 4 metal blocks along the sides. The recipe should also be in the books in-game.
Also, a hammer requires a hammer head, tough tool rod and 2 large plates if I remember correctly. This and other 'tier-2' tools require the use of an upgraded 'tool forge' instead of a basic 'tool station' to create.

I cannot craft a pickaxe of metal (Bronze in this case)
I have crafted with stone without a problem.
I have created casts and managed to get all needed parts.
But when I place them in the tool station nothing happens, I tried both the tire 1 and tire 2 stations.
Known bug I guess or have I missed something (again)?

Hexxit / smeltery: Problem: gold stays liquid on casting table....
I cant get out the blank cast.
But I figured out the problem:
I put a gold ingot into the smeltery controller, because I did not had a gold ore at the momemt....
But it stayed liquid.....
So you need to put a gold ore into the controller, to get it hardened....
Hope this helps other players....
In the current stable version at least, it requires two ingots worth of gold to make a cast whereas it only requires one ingot of aluminum brass. Smelting down a single gold ingot will give you only a single ingots worth of molten gold: not enough to make a cast. On the other hand, since the output of raw ores are doubled, a single block of gold ore will give you two ingots worth of molten gold: enough to make a single cast. You just need to make sure you are using enough gold either way; I don't think there is any difference between using gold ore and ingots (just make sure you use 2 ingots to get the required amount for a single cast).

Mdiyo I think that you should add an item called seared piping which should have the seared tanks texture turned on its side and should be 16 pixels long and 8x8 pixels wide placed in the middle of the block area sort of like energy conduits from thermal expansion it should be crafted like a seared drain but with seared glass panes in replace of the empty crafting spots to get 8 of them they should be able to transport any liquid and there should be a tool that requires two tool rods made of seared stone and a seared stone tinker tool head that requires one ingot of seared stone to make all has to be done in the smelter and the tool should look like a mini-hammer if you right click on a side of the seared piping that is connected to something that can hold liquid with a seared tool it should pop open a gui with two sections with options for pump out pump in and active on Redstone signal active without Redstone signal or always active and you should be able to click on seared faucets with the tool and do the same thing and you should be able to make seared filters with seared tool rods in the middle and four corners of the crafting grid with seared ingots filling up the rest for three seared filters you should be able to place these on the seared piping and right click on it with the seared tinker tool and have it open up a gui to allow you to select what liquids can pass through and could you make it where seared tanks connected when touching vertically so it could be easier to pump liquids in to all the tanks and have a liquid ingot storage system. I think all of this should be added for easier moving of liquids in and out of the smelter and making a liquid storage room for ores.(Throughout this post I have called things seared ingots I mean the item version of seared bricks and the tools made using seared bricks should have slightly better than iron speed and durability.)
Stencil table doesn't work. I've see few spotlights, they all say that we need to put the cast into a stencil table, whereas when I put one in this, the only thing I can do is the ingot cast :
Well quoting the OP near the top of his post: "Casts are crafted by pouring Aluminum Brass/Gold on a tool part.", it seems like the stencil table isn't used anymore for those casts.
There's no items corresponding to the name "tool part", or maybe I can't understand this (I'm not english)
You may want to view an updated mod spotlight; most currently are out-of-date. To explain the process, you need to make casts by pouring either liquid aluminum brass or gold over the corresponding tool part. To make a pickaxe head cast for example, you need to make a pickaxe head out of either stone or wood at the part builder. Once you have the part, right-click to place it in a casting table. Then you can drain the liquid metal into the casting table around the part using the seared faucet and it will harden into a pickaxe head cast. Follow the same steps for each individual part. Hopefully that makes more sense.
If yes, it doesn't work though :/
I had molten iron in the smeltery station, I'll try with aluminium brass
That is correct. You can use either aluminum brass or gold, although in the current stable release it will cost twice as much gold per cast (it takes 2 ingots worth of molten gold to make one cast, it only takes 1 ingot worth of molten aluminum brass to make one cast).

It should be crafted like a seared drain, but with seared glass panes instead of the empty crafting spots. This would craft 8 of them. They should be able to transport any liquid, and there should be a tool that requires two tool rods, made of seared stone, and a seared stone tinker tool head that requires one ingot of seared stone.
All that has to be done in the smelter, and the tool should look like a mini-hammer. If you right click on a side of the seared piping (that is connected to something that can hold liquid) with a seared tool, it should open a GUI with two sections with options for 'pump out' and 'pump in,' and a section for 'active on Redstone signal' and 'active without Redstone signal' or 'always active.' You should be able to click on seared faucets with the tool and do the same thing.
An item called 'seared filters' is made with seared tool rods in the middle and four corners of the crafting grid, with seared ingots filling up the rest. This would make 3 seared filters. You should be able to place these on the seared piping and right click on it with the seared tinker tool and have it open up a gui to allow you to select what liquids can pass through.

TheLastAlchemist: I don't agree that this should be added at all. There are already at least one or two mods that do this already. Buildcraft handles liquids very well. Everything you suggest is already done with other mods.
My suggestion to you, is to just get Buildcraft to make your room full of molten metal. That's what I'm going to do. A giant underground corridor, filled with enormous glass tanks, filled with every type of liquid that exists. I can picture it now. It makes me happy.

Sorry I was thinking that it could be added to make it more of self supporting by the transfer of liquids.

Did you smelt the bronze?
Yes, I have all three needed parts made of bronze, made using the casts and the smelter etc.
Then a screenshot is in order!
Are you trying to make it out of metal?

Odd, it's not working for me. Does keepInventory stop it from happening?
