Quick question: I'm attempting a survival in this without ever smelting, or using, any tools besides the ones provided in T-Construct (Armor and things that I can't craft with Tinker's are the only exceptions.) and I was wondering: Is there a way to collect lava for the lava tank, without using a bucket? I can't have iron until I smelt it in the smeltery, and without Iron, I can't make a bucket.
If you don't want to ever smelt ores, then to get a bucket you need to find iron in blacksmith chests, or dungeon chests. Otherwise, I would like to say it's alright to smelt your first few iron ores to make the stuff necessary to move on in the mod. Like the bucket.
FryoKnight: I'd rather not add a thing to disassemble tools. It cheapens them to the point of never making a stable tool. Your old tools are a testament to your progress, not to be reused.
It's a Drying Rack, but I'm sure it will suit your needs. 'tis available in the latest dev version.
OOoo.~♥ Looks nifty. :3
I do want to ask one thing though, mDiyo, could you maybe add something to tell what part is being used for what with the Tier 2 tools? ): I have some issues understanding what pieces are determining what the tool gets when crafted do to some of the pieces repeating or such, like the Hammer's 2 Plates makes me thing that is where the strength is coming from, though it is actually the Hammerhead that does that. @~@
Love to see a new updated spotlight on all your new stuff, so hard keep up with you. Got few request; fix Lava Tank rendering & are still thinking of adding Bow & Arrows, magical jelly beans
Hey mDiyo, great mod only have 1 issue. When I load up single player and go into creative and click the first TC tab(Matrials Tab) my client crashes. Something about integration with build craft transport pipes. I will post the error log. It's weird because the other 2 TC tabs work fine.

Handling it entirely within TConstruct? Awesome. A structure of seared brick with stained glass windows, and the tools that brought you there hanging along the walls... that sounds pretty neat. I wish I had the design sense God gave a flea.
mDiyo, would you abandon 1 yr of hard work and just start over because of new version of Minecraft and your mods aren't updated, some builds I have done are so complex and required so much hard work, I won't let them down.
What lvl does aluminuim spawn in? I have playing for like 3 days and only found like 4 ores and like 10 gravel ores while I have like 40 blocks of iron.

All things end...
Especially in this game, considering the nature of world-gen.
In reply to my own post I have found that the mod Denpipes was missing and that was the cause of my issues. But on a side note, is that listed somewhere? That den pipes is required?

I sure hope that you won't jump onto a 1.6 version before at least finishing the projects you have for the 1.5.2 edition, we saw so many mods that went nuts and finally went to the newest version and only corrected the bugs in the new version of Minecraft without even thinking about fixing bugs and stuff with the previous edition, for people like me that plays with heavily modded Minecraft (I have 138 mods loaded right now), we sometimes have to wait up to a year for the mods to update for the newest version of Minecraft, and we see the improvements and such and fix that would have been awesome but only made in the new edition which makes me angrier every time I see an improvement that would have been awesome in the version I play and I'm stuck on the bugs and problems of the previous edition. I agree that new content could be implemented in newer editions, but leaving stuff behind would just be so bad, the glowstone aggregator comes to my mind right now...

So basically you want mDiyo to spend time working on a version of the mod for a now depreciated version of minecraft instead of moving forward and utilizing the new features and uses with the new version.
To be blunt: it is not any mod authors responsibility to keep your old version up to date because you decided to keep using it after a new version of minecraft was released. If you are being held back because some mod you really liked was abandoned or didn't update, well that is your choice, you don't have to keep using that mod. Don't put it on other mod authors to keep their old versions updated because you can't move forward.

I found very little aluminum digging around. I seemed to find most of it in caves and ravines. Iron is also far more common than aluminum. It could also just be bad luck.

Well, I decided to cheat and get myself a bucket, but I immediately destroyed it. It's not like it was a bad thing, anyways.
I love what this mod adds. It makes a new brand of realism that definitely changes Minecraft for the better.

It's fairly difficult to find. I got lucky and found a ravine with some Aluminumberries hanging from the ceiling, that's my only real source of the stuff.
There are more descriptions in the books. I've been updating them the past couple versions, but they're still somewhat incomplete. It seems people aren't reading them anyway.
Great news! I'm one of the guys that enjoys and reads the books. I had Ars Magica installed for a while, and there's a lot of story books to collect in that game. Had to uninstall it though, because it was messing up the recipes.
I don't care what the problem people are having, how big or minor it is, how new/old it is, how much at fault the mod author is. Read the first post and the last few pages of a thread. Always.
If they didn't read it before you came along, they're not going to read it after you've made your declaration.
I once met a tavern owner who didn't like dinner rush, where a bunch of people come eat dinner at dinner time. He decided that people ought to come into his pub in a steady stream every hour of the day. Guess how that worked out for him.
Behavior modification is rarely effective in an individual, and practically impossible for a population. A better approach is to recognize what the herd does, and decide how you can work with that knowledge.
On the topic of Wikis, they go out of date even faster than a forum thread. I think it's because what motivates people to create a wiki page does not motivate them to maintain it with up-to-date information. In my opinion, wikis are best for stable information, where people can contribute detail instead of maintenance.
I may be missing something obvious but when I try to make blank casts into other casts like a pickaxe head, the only thing I can make it into is an ingot cast. This is using a stencil table. Is there a specific item I need or is my Tinkers Construct just being buggy?
Something like this?

If I'm reading it right, it looks like anywhere from 0 to 64, by default.

there is the addon but I never saw any difference in it you can only salvage axe and shovel heads but not pickaxe and swords and the like
