They are actually not always there. There is a way to bypass them and most of the rooms youre traveling through where they are, you wont even see them. There are only a few rooms where they are in the open. If you see them, just back up immediatly (but as i said, theres another way).
We currently have an issue on our issue tracker stating "This mod is too creepy now." However... we're not fixing that. <_<
This mod is freaking awesome! I love it! Keep up the good work!!
Doing so as we speak. Expect more shiny changes in the coming days, although many will be polishing parts under the hood. Steven is the head honcho as always, so let's see what he wants done.
Is there currently a use at all for unraveled fabric? There needs to be. A portal is a neat idea. But I love the fact that the only way to get to limbo is by sacrificing yourself, and even then, returning is almost twice the sacrifice. I'd love to have a use for the unraveled fabric blocks, though.
1. Adventure door, unstable door with wood instead, tp to dimensional dungeon for fun(and creep).
2. Portal, made by unstable fabric in netherportayl shape, tp you to Limbo
Reason: I have a friend i,d like to troll using monoliths...
1. There is little point in that because you can use an Unstable Door to teleport to a nearby Rift Gateway, depending on your luck. In most cases I've seen so far, assuming there aren't a lot of player-made rifts around, it's a reliable way of finding dungeons.
2. You can already troll your friend. Use a Rift Signature to set up a rift really high up in Limbo and just convince your friend to go through. Even across different dimensions, the rifts will still link together. He'll come out, fall, and he won't take damage but won't know where the rift is to go back.

While I might be wrong, I don't think the only way of getting to Limbo is by sacrificing yourself. That said, it is possible that there might be uses for unraveled fabric in the future. My current focus is on other features, but Steven might have some ideas waiting.
*looks around forum* guess I'll get dimensional doors mod, been a while since I had that. *reads title* NEW MOB?!?!?! *downloading* XD
*checking mod* Ok, let's see this new mob. *spawns mob* What's the ender particles? *looks up and sees a giant eye* WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!?!?! O.O *changes gamemodes and ends up in limbo with hundreds of "them"* ._. sup guys..........
Oh no a creepers coming! What do I do???? *creeper gets closer and begins to hiss* AAAAGGGHHH!!!!! *grabs waffles out of toaster* Take the waffle! TAKE IT!!!!!!! ;_; *throws waffle* ---------> [: :] lives to fight and toast waffles another day...
Huh? That's not what it says there, it says your stack overflowed. I don't think that's due to Dimensional Doors. Honestly, we don't have functions that invoke themselves in loops. Your stack trace shows Galacticraft and Atum. I have a feeling one of the other mods you have installed is causing this, or it might be a conflict.
I would like to first ask if there's any way to CONVENTIONALLY destroy or evade them. If so, I'll say my method.
Because I'd rather like to keep my defence mechanism, if saying about it would result in it being patched.
It's either lava of suffocation trap, is my guess.

What makes you think I was ever being reasonable? I'm sitting here with a pile of guns while wearing a flamethrower, and you thought that, at some point, I was being reasonable?

Found 2 ways to deal with them (spoiler alert!):
1. Just dont let them see you. Build blocks between you and them so direct line-of-sight is broken. Glass works too, just like ghasts.
2. This one is a bit complicated. After some experimenting i noticed if their top touches any solid block, they just disappear. To make them fly up, put a watersource somewhere above them and they "swim" up till they hit a solid block.
But ofcourse this is really difficult to do in survival without them teleporting you to the limbo (and hardly worth the effort).

It would be pretty hard to do option #2 so it's not a big deal. Very, very clever though. I don't think we'll patch that, though it's really up to Steven. I'd do #1 personally, and I've actually done it with glass recently.

Actually, I've found a way to easily do #2.
Grenades of any description - Such as the Nitor from Thaumcraft, or the Unstable Essence from Magical Crops, can knock them back somewhat, and if they hit a ceiling they instantly self-terminate. Doing it too close to them will result in instant teleportation, so make sure your aim is good.
But yes, here's my one, which is a much more surefire way of dealing with them.
Warning: The following may ruin the experience of this mod somewhat.
Seriously, last chance.
The Wand of Holding from Dartcraft can capture these things and put them into Force Flasks. You may then dispose of them in several ways, such as releasing them into the Overworld where they die instantly, drop them into lava, or my personal favourite, cook and eat the buggers.
This method DOES come with it's risks though. You need to be within a certain range, a range which is significantly smaller than thiers. Not to mention it can be used to troll people, because worryingly, they CAN survive if transported into a Pocket Dimension.

So, SenseiKiwi, are you redacting those words yourself or is it stephens? Or is it something else? Are we being watched by the monoliths? What have you and stephens done!? Did someone build dimensional doors so deep that it brought them to the real world? I guess that would be pretty cool. Do you respawn, however? Do you take the place of your character or are you something else? How would you carry around all the cobblestone if you weren't your character? Is gravity lessened? Or does everything have less density?
Oddly enough this is not the first all questions post I've made this week, I just keep going off on tangents.
Hey I read this page like 3 times and I didint find anything about the new demention. Not the pocket world. The demention is huge and its made out of Unraveled Fabric. It has Monolith mobs everywhere. The way you get there is you have to shoot/hit the eye in dungeon and it will teleport you very hight in that demension. For me it only worked in survival mode.

Nik, those screenshots don't work. Use Photobucket.
Also, yes, the dungeons are the new dimention, as well as the Pocket DImention you can make with the doors. Also - Limbo, that realm, is not somewhere you're SUPPOSED to go to.

Resident Thaumaturge cake-dragon at your service o:
Here's a suggestion. Since the TransDimensional Trapdoors are being phased out anyway, why not just repurpose them? They could lead to a new dimension - Nowhere. It would be just like a normal dimension, but completely white with the trapdoor at the bottom of the dimension-box. It could also be 1/2 the size of a normal dimension to keep people interested in the normal doors. I have more ideas for this concept if you're interested.
Already crossed my mind. Still, the mod is already unnerving as is, and [REDACTED].

I'll think about it, but probably not. *is currently working on that*

(You have a lot of these, I see)
1. Adventure door, unstable door with wood instead, tp to dimensional dungeon for fun(and creep).
2. Portal, made by unstable fabric in netherportayl shape, tp you to Limbo

Yes, I'm serious.
How may I ask?
Because I'd rather like to keep my defence mechanism, if saying about it would result in it being patched.

BEST.... MOB..... EVER! XD
ill have to see if some other combinations work.

Awesome mod, it would be cool if you added even more creepier stuff.
