Ok, so I gave up on playing FTB ultimate with this mod as 1.4.7 minecraft doesn't jive well with 1.4.6-2 of LMM obviously, BUT I did find out that FTB unleashed runs with minecraft version 1.5.2 so I thought I would give it a shot and it worked. Now, I haven't started playing much yet so idk if there are any maids, but the game is at the starting screen and I can't see any red errors aside from the usual start up stuff on the FTB console and the LMM and MMMLib looks as though things ran smoothly.
I was running 1.4.6-2 I think. It is so had to find old versions of this mod without just diving into the Japanese side of the minecraft community and my Japanese is quite rusty since I haven't used it in a long time.
Now that I am using the latest version of FTB Unleashed, the mod versions 1.5.2-5 seem to be running smoothly.
Edit: Just tried it out and spawned in a maid, she looked at me and didn't crash the game so I'm going to assume at this moment that things are going well. Today was a good day.
As for Morrogoth, talking to someone like a mod dev takes time and getting them to do something like create a page in English can be quite daunting as they already don't have much time to spare in majority cases. I'm sure Kuroneko has already thought of trying to get an English version of the original page up.
If you want a good Japanese mod that uses things like katanas and the other stereotypical stuff try this
I really like this mod, but i'm not going to install it at this time probably. This does give some architecture with a more traditional way of building swords and making tea/rice/sashimi meals. The sashimi ofc can be eaten as is since it is a type of sushi and what not.
im not upset, just messing with you a little. cant stay mad at someone who puts this much effort into things. thats the exact mod. i just dont understand how to use it. does it power you up to fight the giant epically op monsters or does it just spawn them? and how if it powers you up do you power up?
okay thanks for that, kind of tired of having my villages burned to the ground and villagers dead because of a giant monster with personal space issues. also you should try the henshin mod. its incredibly fun but op. im creating an anime fight mod, one that gives minecraft a fighting game style system of combos, air juggles and such, kind of stupid at the moment since during testing you can launch creepers into the air super high, launch yourself up to them and then die.
Just a general question of curiosity, but, ... is anyone doing, or considering, or knows of someone doing, a current Let's Play of Little Maid Mob mod? I keep checking Youtube for LPs using various terms, because I have an interest in seeing how others are employing the maids.
The majority of what I'm coming across are either "one-off" mod reviews, or "how to install" videos, or short playlists that link a lot of the aforementioned videos; and most of these are from months and years ago. (Yes I know, still relevant, I'm just interested if there's any new LP content in the works.)
I love channels who have spot-lighted this mod such as iHasCupquake, paulsoaresjr, personaaddict, and the GameChap+Bertie team; and I do admit to watching (and re-watching, et cetera, and so forth) many of these videos, but I'm hoping for some new content in LMM LPs. It might tangentially help me in considering what I can do in my maid mod revamp/rewrite.
Edit:
For some reason, I forgot to include SpiceyWrapGames' Youtube channel; I had watched most of his Minecraft modded season one playlist, and am now catching up on the season two, which looks like it might include more little maids. (Although it looks like he's using Minecraft 1.2.5, as of the third episode of Season 2.)
is there a way to find your maid?
i lost mine and cant find her, i know she's not dead just lost out there, i was walking along and then i looked back and she was gone
is there a way to find your maid?
i lost mine and cant find her, i know she's not dead just lost out there, i was walking along and then i looked back and she was gone
That's strange. What mode was she in? If she's in Escort mode, or plain Fencer or Archer mode, then they are supposed to follow you, and they automatically teleport to you if you get too far away. So just keep walking and eventually she should appear nearby. If a maid in freedom or redstone mode, then yeah, they don't follow you, and unfortunately there is no way (at least none that I know of) to locate them. You'd probably have to load you world in MCEdit or some other editor and search around for the littleMaid entity (if that's even possible, I'm not too familiar with the various minecraft editors out there) Or you can use an entity detector mod and fly around until you see LittleMaid entities. AFAIK none of the littleMaidMob debug messages show their coordinates.
is there a way to find your maid? i lost mine and cant find her, i know she's not dead just lost out there, i was walking along and then i looked back and she was gone
Yeah, I find it odd too that this could happen; that they follow along not as fast, then jump to you, rinse and repeat -- it's what is called a "hurry up and wait" operation. Perhaps if the player's forward movement were even more a factor in their movement, they wouldn't fall behind in any case.
Is there "a fix for that"? Not as of this moment; I'm still working on a rewrite of the LittleMaidMob mod (and auxiliary supporting mods), so a fix for lost maids is something I'd thought about before. Once upon a time I had thought of asking for a Gui screen to list the maids that are owned, perhaps with a 'call' button to bring the maid to you -- but had forgotten to write this idea in my notes. Thanks for reminding me; I've added a brief note into my planning document to attempt this. (A bit easier on single player than multiplayer, however.)
Actually, if I could ask how I should focus attention in developing it. Assuming it could be implemented as one of the following:
A gui screen listing each maid the player owns, with relevant maid-control buttons, and statistics like location or status.
A tab-completion chat command handler which could do the same thing, for people who want to specify the above via a chat command.
A manner of automatically ensuring (after a specific time, perhaps at the new day) any maids outside a specified distance are "returned" to the player, or a certain location (by setting a maid's "home"?).
... or a combination of the above; all are acceptible development plans, I am just curious what would be most used.
is there a way to find your maid?

may i ask u a quetion?
my question is were u walking or running when u lost ur maids? u werent flying right? (or super long jump that u can get from other mods)
because maids r suppsed to teleport to u as long as ur feets are touching the ground.
but if u flied or something for certain distance, they wont follow u.
same happends when u die. if u die certain distance away from ur respawn area, they will stay wherever they stand last.
I just want to clear things to make sure what is going on.
because it never happened to me...
edit: oh i think there was an addon that tells u wre the maid is but not sure it still works. i havent used maids for awhile now...
well i was in a biome that seemed to lag bad, so i turned and left the biome and after i left it my maid wasnt with me so i figured she would be in the biome. I went into the biome again and it didnt lag but my maid was gone, i'm sure it had nothing to do with her making it lag, it was just a glitch that went away after i left and re-entered the biome, just due to the lag she wasnt able to keep up or something.
I've had it happen when i travel over lots of biomes and new terrain is being generated and the maid will fall behind, i will have to wait and go back a bit and she will snap to me.
But this time i didnt go that far just out of the biome, so idk if she teleported somewhere and is standing in a cave waiting or what.
idk if there was a add on to find maids or a way to tp them to you, i know the Minecraft Comes Alive Mod has a thing that will tp the family to you, didnt know if there was an add on for maids like that or something like a compass that points to where your maid is.
i've never had a maid to run out on her contract, when that happens will i get a notice?
but she had 5 stacks of sugar on her so i doubt i will ever see a notice.
just thinking if her contact runs out and i get a notice then i would know she was still alive, as far as i know i never saw a little maid has died notice.

i think setting a maid's home would be the most easy way to go about it
i know the Minecraft Comes Alive Mod has a thing to set the villager a home and they tp to that spot at night unless they are on follow mode and in that case it wouldnt work for me or anyone else that has their maid following them. Can see it now , mining in a cave with my maid and night time comes and she teleports home leaving me in the cave
idk anything about coding but maybe have a compass that points to your maid, right click your maid with the compass assigns that compass to that maid or an item that the maid can have in her inventory and the compass points to that item.
Because maids are supposed to teleport to you as long as your feet are touching the ground.
There's one exception to the maids teleporting to you when you're running on the ground. I found out about it when I was playing in my underground hanger. Since I don't like dealing with any slimes mobs that may appear, I completely covered the floor of my hanger with glass blocks to prevent them from spawning.
Apparently, maids cannot follow you as easily if you're running on glass blocks. They can't even teleport to you as long as you're standing on a glass block. I haven't tested this out on other blocks types so I'm not really sure if the problem is related. The best way to deal with this issue is to attach a string to your maid(s) and drag them along.
I've been busy lately working with the Little Maid Mob Templates and I'm a bit disappointed in the limitations of each. I kind of wish I was knowledgeable enough to edit the maid models in the game.
Here's the Mabel Maid Template. I might add it to my signature later on along with a few others in Dropbox once I finish figuring out all of the templates I want.
This time it's the girls from Haganai. They all use the default model so just put them in the MMMlib with appropriate naming. Example: mob_littlemaid_00, mob_littlemaid_01, and etc.
*snip*
i've never had a maid to run out on her contract, when that happens will i get a notice?

just thinking if her contact runs out and i get a notice then i would know she was still alive, as far as i know i never saw a little maid has died notice.
Yet another idea I'm considering. I am thinking a simple notification in the chat messages when time-in-contract is less than one day's worth of time.
i know ice is the same as glass for maids, they follow really slow and wont tp to you. Normally i have her ride on my back when i cross water and other places that slow her way down
I installed a entity finder mod and looked over the biome, i saw no little maid entity, so she's gone.
I run biomes O plenty so maids dont spawn in my world, guess i could change the settings so they will spawn, but i run the better dungeons mod as well so i normally spawn one in as a reward for beating the first dungeon, a few of the dungeons have jails so i will go in ahead on creative and put one in there for me to save her later on survival.
Warning this is based on my memory so I might be off in certain details:
If a maid runs out of sugar you still have 7 minecraft days to notice it and give them sugar because if they are able to they'll keep their contract at a max of 7 days. When you hire them they'll start with 7 days and they'll eat 1 sugar/1 Minecraft day to keep it at 7 days.
If the contract runs out they'll enter strike mode which is basically a permanent freedom mode. Like in freedom mode they'll walk around in a 15x15 square, however they won't react to feather, redstone or sugar.
This might have been the result of completely random chance when it happened to me but they seem to also avoid you and turn away from you in this state.
You can renew the contract if you give them a cake.
"Warning this is based on my memory so I might be off in certain details:"
no u r absulatly right
this is how the maids works
i've noticed my maids some times take more than 1 sugar a day, she will take one and just a little while later take another, maybe they feel 1 sugar a day is too cheap for me.
Also i'm looking for fragile armor, mostly for Beverly and chloe models
Gomen >.< I haven't found the madoka magica thread...
Found this one, not sure if it's the same you want http://forum.minecraftuser.jp/viewtopic.php?t=8468
I feel slightly more important than you <3 jk lol

sounds like on ice they would not spawn either...
i dont use Mc 1.6.2 anymore
hope 1.7
