I have an AMD 7850 2 GB memory, it's updated to 14.4. Already tried updating it to fix the issue. It seems to only conflict with Optifine now and it doesn't run as well as it did before on my system. I got a solid 30 FPS most of the time before. I also updated Java to a newer version, that could be an issue as well.
What about your version of Forge?
You might try deleting your options.txt and optionsof.txt files and setting up your MC video settings again.
BTW All, an unofficial (and quite buggy) Optifine has been released which fixes the IC2/Optifine incompatibility issues: http://www.minecraft...0#entry30726014
I'm just going to test it now, and see how buggy it actually is.....
EDIT: Wow, it's quite buggy! The release comes with a Minecraft & Optifine config file, which turns off a lot of the settings.. Time to play around and see which ones work. Right now, I enabled as much as I could, and it crashes loading a world :s..
EDIT2: Hmm, not as bad as I had originally thought. Just loading up a world, and really simple stuff so far... Most of the core components are OK to edit/change. Need to check the grass/snow/rain/clouds/sun/moon/etc. Don't modify any of the natural textures or custom colors at all, it's not good.....!
Ok, back again on this one.
Again, anyone who wants to run IC2 with Optifine, there is a patched-beta version of Optifine.
As far as I can tell, everything is working fine as long as you do NOT turn on:
can anyone tell me if there are some HD bumpmapped recource packs if so recommend me some?can anyone tell me if there are some HD bumpmapped recource packs if so recommend me some?
You may be able to run some of the Light or Intel-based shaders.. All you can do is try. If it doesn't work out well, just remove the profile (or the JAR from the mods folder if you are using a forge version).
I would recommend disabling Normal and Specular Mapping after you have GLSL installed (Options -> Shaders).
Thanks for this. I'll try as soon as possible (when I'll go back after vacations...
But, didn't SEUS' thread tell us that if you have around 100+ fps, it will run fine? Cause I've got around 130...

I've been using the 1060 version of Forge. Is there a better version to use for Optifine and the Shaders Mod?
Also, are there any options in Optifine which would cause the Shaders mod to crash?
Well, I've been playing with the new experimental Optifine (to get IC2 working) and Custom Colors / Natural Textures / (maybe) Random Mobs cause crashing.
I haven't had any crashing on the regular OF 1.7.2 Ultra D1...
The latest AMD 14.4 seems to have been working good for people so far, I haven't tested it on my machine downstairs (still running 13.12)...
Forge 1058-1060 had problems, caused crashing (java.exe crashed file reported is igfx or atimd).

That all depends, some cards have higher memory bandwidth, more cuda cores, more buffers... Some smaller cards have higher performance than newer cards... It's hard to say, it's all up in the air.
All you can do is test.
Your GTX 260 shows:
192 CUDA cores
448-bit Memory Interface Width
111.9 GB/sec Memory Bandwidth
2.1 OpenGL Version (this is a huge limiting factor for you!)
My GTX 650ti shows (30-50 FPS in SEUS v10.1 Preview 1 & 2):
768 CUDA cores
128-bit Memory Interface Width
86.4 GB/sec Memory Bandwidth
4.3 OpenGL Version
My GTS 450 shows (~10 fps):
192 CUDA cores
128-bit Memory Interface Width
57.7 GB/sec Memory Bandwidth
4.2 OpenGL Version
My FX 880m shows (2-4 fps):
48 CUDA cores
128-bit Memory Interface Width
25.6 GB/sec Memory Bandwidth
3.2 OpenGL Version
Just an example. I'm kind of curious what you're going to perform like!
On wikipedia, it is written the GTX 260 can go as far as OpenGL 3.3...

Please don't hang me if I'm posting this in the wrong area...but..maybe I can get some help.
This is my 1st attempt at using a shader mod.I want to use it with the Life In The Woods mod pack so I downloaded everything needed.I was trying to use Sildur's Vibrant shaders and then tried a different "Lite" pack yet I get almost zero frame rates.Am I wasting my time with my current pc set-up?...I thought it was decent.
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz
6.GB RAM
64 bit Operating System
2 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT ( just updated)
Not sure what other info would be useful.
Also the modpack runs 1.6.4 so I am using the 1.6.4 shader pack etc.

Try the latest Forge 1063/1065.
I've done that. It seems like I'm just going in a circle trying to figure this out.
Edit: Wait, it works now. I It seems to be running much slower than before which is strange. I noticed my Java wasn't the latest Java 7 version and I'm using 1065 version of Forge. Any way to squeeze more FPS out of it?
Edit edit: Also, should I install Optifine before any other mod?
I will be away from home (and my desktop PC) for one and a half months.
My laptop has only Intel HD Graphics 4000.
I will not be able to use/test some shaderpacks.
Hmm, just Optifine & Shadersmod, no other mods installed at all?
I'd take a wager (this was supposed to be fixed in later 1.6.4 builds .. it's fine in 1.7.2+) that Optifine is missing the FML fix. So, both Optifine and GLSL are fighting and overwriting each other's class files.
Grab this file, rename it to [0000]-OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_U_D1.jar and put it in the mods folder. Than try again.
After it's working, drop your other mods in, and you should be good to go!
Also, your shader packs, they go into the shaderpacks folder. They can be in 2 formats:
%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks\SEUS v10.0 Standard.zip (inside the ZIP should be a shaders folder, than FSH and VSH files)
%appdata%\.minecraft\shaderpacks\SEUS v10.0 Standard\shaders\*.FSH and *.VSH
It's still not working :/ i guess it just doesn't wanna work. Thanks for all the help though, much appreciated.
Next step, Java 8. Anyone test it yet for performance changes?
Nothing noticeable, and I can't be bothered to meter it at this point in time. Java 8 did make changes to the compiler, but honestly most of the changes are for integrating the "new" features. Unless it's all converted to Java 8 performance, I doubt anything big will happen.
I hope someone can help me here but i seem to get a error where i load up a world and the screen flickers really fast i have downloaded everything and done it all right is it that im using the wrong optifine or something.
I have this issue that apparently is caused by Fancy Graphics in my case, the mod isn't working with MC 1.6.4/Forge.965/ShadersModCore 2.2.2. For some reason ShadersModCore has issues with Fancy Graphics.
If there are no shaderpacks selected (no shaders/internal mode) and Fancy graphics are activated, my game crashes. (the game doesn't actually crash but the screen starts to flicker and I have to close javaw.exe)
The only way to start a world is to either play without fancy graphics and without shaders, or, use a shaderpack, which allows me to enable Fancy graphics but causes some serious visual glitches that render the game unplayable.
Specs:
I5 2300
GTX 560ti
Driver version: 334.89
I'm using optifine as well (No anti-aliasing, no texture filters), the problem persists without it tho

Okay, so, curious, has anyone had an issue, where when u load 1.6.4 shaders, when u start minecraft up it start laggin in the main menu. I am trying to use it on agrarian skies.

Bloody hell, I was using 1024 this whole time, and with no (noticeable) problems!
Just updated to 1065, seems fine too.

Lol, some times the simple things overlooked ;)!
I had to update because Ruins stopped working alltogether, it crashed with old versions of Forge :P..
I have Java 8 installed, but still using the Java 7 executable. Maybe I'll flip it over and see how it runs..
Not yet, Karyonix is busy this week, and he is still waiting for MCP to be released.
