Ok listen up : here's why perfect transmutations are bad. Look, if you lose nothing, then that means that (assuming you are using a crafting table mod so it doesn't take more than 1 click) there's no reason to even look through all of your chests if you need something. Just grab a stack of something transmutable that gives enough "points" for what you want from the FIRST chest you find, and bam you have what you want.
It totally destroys most of the gameplay. Oh noes, I am low on gold/diamonds/iron. But rather than possibly think about going out and getting some more of what I am missing, I'll just use what I DO have to get what I want. There's 0 consequences...if you burn up all your iron to make gold, you can always make the iron back if you find some gold later.
Losses in the conversions make this a debate. Maybe I should transmute some gold from this iron I have here (or diamonds or whatever). Then again, maybe I can trade for some gold or go mine for some or find it in another chest. Since I'll have less total "points" to work with if I transmute, there's an incentive to not waste resources.
I think that for starters any transmutation should have a 25% loss. The final product should have 3/4 the EMC value of what you put into it (for ONE transmutation step)
Maybe this is balanced, maybe it isn't. The overworld sand/dirt/cobble conversions are fine, however.
I think lossless transmutations should be an end goal, but it should be included regardless of balance issues otherwise the mod will not live up to the title.
Looks pretty good for now, the IC2 macerator exploits are still there with pre1 with the minium stone recipes, because with the minium stone you can make a blaze rod with 2 blaze dust and bone with 3 bone meal, hopefully a fix there in the next update you make
Can't wait to see how this mod turns out compared to EE2
Great mod man. You really are a good modder. But just my personal opinion is that at least the Energy Condenser should stay in EE3. Just my personal opinion though, maybe other people feel different about it.
Are you going to add back the Energy Collector? (I'm guessing that was in the others, i'm just going off of tekkit's list of mods/where the mod stuff comes from)
Ignore all the whiners and just keep pushing along.
for those of you whining I don't think Pahimar is even listening or reading your comments anymore. I mean that isn't constructive feed back most of the time. If I was a mod developer and I saw most posts of people whining and complaining about me removing something which I know is exploitative/made the game too easy and not a challenge I would just shrug and not even think about reading the comments. Only thing I'd be looking for is constructive feedback and bug reports and ways to improve the mod without making things easy for the player.
Those whining about the removal of items, are you idiots or something?
You do realise that this is a mod by someone that owes you precisely nothing, I mean FFS if Pahimar wanted to turn this mod into a say Smurfcraft he is quite entitled to, he isn't. So please feel free to STFU and not play this when released I will be playing this because it looks like the planned features will rock.
we still need ee2 for multiplayer. I like the idea of moving emc but the removal of red matter and condensers and collectors? that is RUBBISH! dont take away the best parts of the mod for me...
Most Tekkit servers completely banned EE2 for these items. They imbalanced the game (Up to 1 diamond per 8 seconds? Really?) and overshadowed any attempt to make an economy. Though the removal of the items may seem drastic now, they're a leap forward in balancing the mod.

Please, explain why are you whining and complaining about something that has been repeated over and over again? Chill. Someone who is diligent enough might make an addon to EE3 to reinclude those stuff. I might do so, if I'm not too lazy

I see many requests to bring back EMC, condensers, etc. in this topic now. The frustration is to be expected when something you are familiar with changes.
To me Equivalent Exchange 2 was very unbalanced, and it had a huge impact on the gameplay. Within few hours of playing I lost interest in playing the game, and deleted the world out of boredom. If I recall correctly; one diamond is equals to 8,600 blocks - ranging from stone to glass.
I'd like to add that I don't enjoy modifications that modifies gameplay (such as Equivalent Exchange), so please respond telling me how this add constructive perspectives to Minecraft.
Please, industry-Minecraft players, respect Pahimar's decision to make Equivalent Exchange 3 balanced. Give his new, innovative design in development a chance.

Ok guess what energy condensers are for fat and lazy people who sit on there butt and do nothing. transmutation tablet you actually work for them so you can get them up and running that way if you work hard for something the more fun it is at the end.
It's already been stated enough times that there will be some system to allow mass conversion of materials like the energy condensor, it just won't be in one all powerful and cheap block.
I hope it will be a system of blocks that have to be powered somehow, so that there is some thinking involved in integrating it into machine systems, and tracking it's power consumption.
The condensor is a block that needs to be as difficult, or even more difficult to build and power as the Mass Fabricator.
Just for the record, I read everything everyone posts here and sends me in PMs. If I don't reply its very likely because it's been answered already, or your post is not constructive and adds nothing to the conversation.
Just because things aren't implemented now doesn't mean they won't (with the exception being the items I specifically stated that have been removed)
EE2 is multiplayer (to the person that said it wasn't). It has been SMP since MC 1.1
EE2 was never approved for inclusion in Tekkit, and having seen their download stats I can say we won't suffer if it's not included (and considering that anyone can include it now, meh).
Once again, thank you to all the people who are supporting this re-balancing effort. I've never seen so many server admins come out of the woodworks You guys are the quiet folk that keep communities going and stay really quiet about it. Good job!
Last time I checked, criticism and free thought was allowed on this forum.
Edit: just think for a moment what you're proposing. Essentially, it boils to this:
Rule No 1. - X is great.
Rule No 2. - nobody can criticize X.
Rule No 3. - if somebody criticizes X or complaints about what X has done, report them to authorities for punishment.
Well, does it look so good? Does it have a certain distopian, dictatorial feeling? Can we substitute X for various historical entities and it makes perfect sense? Is it the proper way for the forum or thread to function?
This is why dictatorships tend to not end well.

Doubt he's worried about either of those. Also, how would it be removed from something that never had it in the first place?
