Seems like he's just bringing it up (not complaining) in regards to the amount of them. The terrain height causes a lot of noise, which in effect causes more floating islands than usual.
This is exactly correct. I love floating islands to an extent, but the noise introduced by the increased terrain height tends to make proportionally more mountains get carved up instead of remaining hill-shaped. (It's a lot better in the 0.6.0 update; kudos for the mountain improvements!) I think that a control over terrain height would help with keeping the slope shapes under user control, allowing it to be customized according to the player's tastes.
FYI v0.6.0 breaks previous world that had biomes explored already where there where "noms" you "fixed". I updated then loaded my existing world where I lived in the Fungi Forest, and due to your noms fix it removed/changed the mushroom/flower ID's in it and I crash the moment I enter the Fungi Forest. I will provide the crash log, but I pretty much just explained what it is.
Is there a place where I can see what each item does? I found all the crafting recipes, but I can't find what the items actually do anywhere. Am I missing something?
So I know the original creator of this mod was planning on implementing custom trees and then decided not to. I was so crushed Is there any chance you would be interested in using anything like this?
I don't know where to put bug reports, but when I roll over items added by BoP, only the item ID appears (if I turn off id's with F3+H, then nothing shows up). I have tried changing NEI settings, so see if it's related, but that doesn't help. I used to be able to see the names of the items (I know what Origin Grass is), but now they're gone. I'm using FTB unleashed, the latest version. I think it may be something in the BoP config, but I'm not sure.
I use the FTB , with the Direwolf 20 pack that has Biomes O' plenty in it , but it is disable , when I enable it ,

Here is your problem. ID 254 is already been used. You need to reassign either BoP or chickenchunk config and look for ID 254 and change it to any unused ID. That will fix you. It's just conflicting ID
I am having a conflicting ID problem with BOP and Mists of RIOV, it said
#Blocks

Suggested Ranges: 2417-2829 (413 IDs), 3116-3499 (384 IDs), 1555-1919 (365 IDs)
Anyway I went into BOP to change the block ID's but it says they need to be under 255 in the ID Config in BOP, so I tried to change it to be under 2455 and changed all the block ID's from 161 to 168 to go from 2420 to 2429 an then I saved that and loaded the game again however it again said ID conflicts. It appears that even though I change the ID in the ids.config file when I launch the game it re-writes the 161 to 168 under the IDs I changed, see below.

I'm not sure what this is all about but because of it I can't run BOP with Mists of RIOV, any help would be appreciated as I'm new at this but it's always worked in the past.

Those are terrain block IDs and MUST stay under 255 not 2455. NEI just shows you open IDs and doesn't recognize these as terrain blocks, it is just a 'suggestion' and in your case a bad one. stay under 255. Open both configs side by side and try and find some open IDs in the specified range
Anyway I went into BOP to change the block ID's but it says they need to be under 255 in the ID Config in BOP, so I tried to change it to be under 2455
So the config file tells you "if it's more than 255 it won't work", and your immediate thought is "oh boy better set it to be in the 2400s that's totally less than 255"?
This looks fantastic, and I will definitely be downloading it once I switch to 1.6.2 (still waiting for Thaumcraft to update). One problem, though-I think I'm going to need to change some IDs when I do download it. I tried to open a config file just to see what it looked like, but my computer said it can't open it. Can someone tell me how exactly I go about doing this? What program do I use?
I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but I don't know where else to put it and it's sort of related to this mod...

Am I the only one having the issue of the mod's biomes flat-out not generating at all in v0.6.0? Yes, my config is set for them to spawn, but when I create a world I'm only given vanilla biomes.

Yes you are the only one. Just cause they all say true won't help you. You need to scroll a little further to 'biome settings' and change 'add biomes to default world=false' <---change that to true. Or you could simply go to 'more world options' and change the 'world type' to biomes O plenty before you create a new world

Darn, you mean to tell me that "Yes, my config is set for them to spawn" wasn't clear enough to mean "I have all of the appropriate settings set to 'true' and I had no such issue prior to v0.6.0"?

Thank you for your help, when I first did it I did not use NEI, when you load the game the Launcher or Forge tells you that there are block ID's the same and suggests Block ID's between a range. Your mention of NEI made me remember it also can dump un-used block ID's, I new that but had not thought I needed it with the game telling me about duplicate blocks. This time I had NEI dump the un-used block ID's and found ID's 180 to 193 and used that so now it is working with Mists of RIOV.

can you help ? ty

Aren't there already custom trees?
Anyways, is there a way to get Biome O Plenty on large biomes setting?
You simply put the .jar file in the mods folder. That is it. Installed.
go to config, i believe you can change the size there
Here is your problem. ID 254 is already been used. You need to reassign either BoP or chickenchunk config and look for ID 254 and change it to any unused ID. That will fix you. It's just conflicting ID

I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but I don't know where else to put it and it's sort of related to this mod...
