The soul shard mod doesn't seem to work for me. When i install it says i need forge 7.7.2.679, but i,m using a forge 7.7.2.682 a newer version. any idea why?
I enchanted over a 100 swords (not even kidding) to test it
and none of them got the enchant..

You should try Enchanting Plus, my favorite mod so far, total control on what your enchants are, it could be considered an overpowered mod (it doesn't even need any kind of library around it) but giving the fact we earn our levels legitly, also you can remove an enchant and get back some experience from it, makes it fun to use.

All the mods behave properly until I tried to add Soul Shards. It is a 1.5.1 server and I am using the 1.5.1 compatible version of Soul Shards 1.27. If I then remove the Soul Shards file from the mods folder the server will launch properly with no issues. I am fairly new at this but I can't clearly understand from this log what is causing the issue exactly, I just know that it has to have some relation to Soul Shards since I can remedy the crash by removing it. I love the Soul Shards mod and really want to use it on my server so if anyone can point me in the right direction to solve this issue I would be very grateful.
Just to add that after I posted the above info I noticed that my server was using an older version of FML so I updated it to the latest version for MineCraft 1.5.1 and the server still crashes but this time with more detail...

See i have the same problem but for some reason Soulshards isn't generating a config to even change the block id

Well, I changed the block id in the Tinker's Constructs config from 1475 to something I saw as unused...in this case 1481. Now the server does not crash but soul cages are spawning in the world where ores from TC would have. Logic tells me to change that ID back and modify the SoulShards.cfg file but I am almost scared to now for fear of corrupting my world.
I am posting the unmodified SoulShards.cfg in the hopes that it will be some help to you.

As an update I changed the TC config file back to it's standard settings and edited the SoulShards.cfg file to change the soul cage ID to 1481 and it appears to have correctewd the issues....TC ore is in the world properly again so until I see otherwise I will assume all is well.
Chaz, I would assume that if you took the SS config file I posted and just put it in your config folder after changing the Soul Cage ID from 1475 to something unused in your world that it should also solve your problem. I hope it does anyway. Good luck......and as always, backup your world before you do this just incase.
I have to agree that adding End Stone as a requirement is a bit crazy. As is it already took forever to get a Tier 5..
The part that hurts me the most is that fact that we can no longer use a shard on a spawner and get bonus souls from it. I really miss this feature......farming for the mobs is semi-boring and being able to "suck up" spawners as least helped you see the light at the end of the tunnel a bit more quickly.
I don't have a problem with making it harder, I like a challenge...but choosing End Stone was not a good choice. I would prefer some block recipe I may need to gather things from the overworld, or even the nether(or both) to create, even if took a fair bit of time to gather...but a block that can only be obtained from The End?

and it absorbs the souls of my slain foes
but when i try to use it on a mob spawner it does nothing

Where is the source code? I have some questions about the config and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post them. If so then here is my question: When someone dies the IRC chat only shows * death.drawn or * death.fall but it does not show there name. How can I fix this?
Edit: I'm still waiting on a bunch of mods, just wonder if I should be actively looking for a replacement or not.

If I am reading this correctly it appears that Soul Shards has a conflict with Tinker's Constructs. I have never had to resolve such conflicts before, can anyone point me to somewhere that I might find out more about how to fix this?
See i have the same problem but for some reason Soulshards isn't generating a config to even change the block id
Well, I changed the block id in the Tinker's Constructs config from 1475 to something I saw as unused...in this case 1481. Now the server does not crash but soul cages are spawning in the world where ores from TC would have. Logic tells me to change that ID back and modify the SoulShards.cfg file but I am almost scared to now for fear of corrupting my world.
I am posting the unmodified SoulShards.cfg in the hopes that it will be some help to you.

As an update I changed the TC config file back to it's standard settings and edited the SoulShards.cfg file to change the soul cage ID to 1481 and it appears to have correctewd the issues....TC ore is in the world properly again so until I see otherwise I will assume all is well.
Chaz, I would assume that if you took the SS config file I posted and just put it in your config folder after changing the Soul Cage ID from 1475 to something unused in your world that it should also solve your problem. I hope it does anyway. Good luck......and as always, backup your world before you do this just incase.
End Stone? REALLY!? What a horrible ingredient to choose as a requirement...
The part that hurts me the most is that fact that we can no longer use a shard on a spawner and get bonus souls from it. I really miss this feature......farming for the mobs is semi-boring and being able to "suck up" spawners as least helped you see the light at the end of the tunnel a bit more quickly.

Unfortunately it looks like that feature was removed.
Where is the source code? I have some questions about the config and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post them. If so then here is my question: When someone dies the IRC chat only shows * death.drawn or * death.fall but it does not show there name. How can I fix this?
