Chest Finder Today I bring to you the chest finder mod. This will allow you to find chest underground or above ground in mine shafts or in dungeons you will be amazed how many are around you. This mod will help you find chest underground in dungeons and abandoned mine shafts easier to find as it will draw a yellow/gold box around any chest you can also find ender chest and mobspawners.
Mapwriter Thanks to Mapwriter (The author of Mapwriter)
MapWriter Mod
In game mini map mode.
In game full screen GUI.
Zooming out to see the world.
Features:
In game mini-map for multiplayer and singleplayer.
Client side (server does not need to have the mod installed).
The areas you explore are saved and can be viewed by scrolling or zooming the map, even when you are in a completely different part of the world.
Full screen map GUI. Set waypoints by right clicking, pan map by click dragging, zoom with the mouse wheel.
Colours for blocks automatically generated from the block's texture.
Support for custom texture packs.
Support for blocks added by mods.
Biomes now coloured appropriately.
Entire map can be written to a PNG image.
Explored chunks are also saved in Anvil format from multiplayer servers, so you can view the world using tools such as Eihort.
When in the Nether the mini map shows your effective location in the Overworld. This makes placing portals easier.
Short range underground mode shows air, water and lava around the player.
All block colours configurable, including extended block ID's.
This mod is great for compulsive explorers.
If you can't resist walking to every corner of the world in games for no other purpose than filling your map, then this is the mod for you.
It functions like the maps in many RPG's, not only showing your immediate surroundings, but also everywhere you've been before.
Another feature is that once you are done exploring for the day you can press 'm' then 'p' to create a PNG image of everywhere you have explored!
Download:
Note: No longer a CoreMod! 'MapWriter-.zip' goes in your normal mods folder.
Note 2: There is a bug in version 1.3.2 that causes the map to update very slowly. This is fixed in version 1.3.3, but if you ran 1.3.2 at any point you will need to manually change the 'chunksPerTick' setting in '.minecraft\config\MapWriter.cfg' to 3 (or more if your processor can handle it).
MapWriter 1.3.10 Mod for Minecraft 1.5.2: Download (Mediafire)
PNG Merge Tool: MapWriterMerge.zip
(used to merge all images from a world into a single large PNG file but has been
superseded by the /mwmerge command in version 1.2.7)
Installation:
The 'MapWriter-.zip' goes into the mods folder at:
As you explore your world MapWriter will write PNG images for each region to:
.minecraft\saves\\images
.minecraft\saves\mapwriter_mp_worlds\\images
For singleplayer and multiplayer worlds respectively.
For multiplayer worlds MapWriter will also save the chunk data in standard Anvil format to:
.minecraft\saves\mapwriter_mp_worlds\\regions\*.mca
You can copy a multiplayer world directory from '.minecraft\saves\mapwriter_mp_worlds' to '.minecraft\saves' and then explore your multiplayer world in singleplayer.
Only the regions you have visited in the multiplayer world will be available however, and the contents of Chests, Furnaces, Dispensers etc are not saved.
MapWriter stores map configuration options in the file:
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\config\MapWriter.cfg
Markers are stored in the 'mapwriter.cfg' file in the world directory of each world:
.minecraft\saves\\mapwriter.cfg
.minecraft\saves\mapwriter_mp_worlds\\mapwriter.cfg
If you have a large number of markers to copy/convert it's probably easiest to edit the config files rather than editing the markers in game.
Customizing Block Colours:
You can customize the colour displayed on the map for each block ID by adding an
override entry in the MapWriter.cfg configuration file.
This file is found at (on Windows):
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\config\MapWriter.cfg
The Mapwriter.cfg file should have the following section, which explains how to add block colour overrides:
####################
# blockcolour
#===================
# each entry should be of the form S:III=AARRGGBB
#
# where: III is the block ID as a 3 digit hex number
# AA is 2 digit hex number for the alpha channel
# RR is 2 digit hex number for the red channel
# GG is 2 digit hex number for the blue channel
# BB is 2 digit hex number for the green channel
#
# if the alpha channel is ff then the block is opaque (e.g. dirt)
# if the alpha channel is 00 then the block is completely transparent (e.g. air)
# if the alpha channel is anything else then the block is translucent (e.g. water)
#
# some example entries:
# S:002=ffff00ff # to make grass purple
# S:003=80945d32 # to make dirt translucent

have been named '1024.512.png'.
- Mod can now be tested with the 'startclient.bat' script in MCP. Previously it
would not work due to the ASM class transformer only working with obfuscated
code.
- Commented some debugging lines that I accidentally left in 1.1.
1.1:
- Converted mod to use the Forge API
AnvilMapper Tool
- Standalone utility (not a mod).
- Used to generate a map of a world from the Anvil (*.mca) region files.
The map can be viewed using the included Google Maps viewer.
- Creates maps of underground caves as well as the surface.
- Mostly intended for server admins with access to the world files, but also
works with the chunks saved by MapWriter in multiplayer.
- For developers: This tool has code to open Anvil Region Files, parse the NBT
structure for each chunk, and search through each block in the Chunk.
Feel free to modify and use it for any purpose you can think of.
Usage Instructions:
AnvilMapper generates images from the region files (*.mca files) of a world, which can then be viewed by the Google Maps viewer in the 'index.html' web page example included.
Single player worlds are found at:
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\saves\
If you are running the MapWriter mod it will save explored areas in multiplayer worlds to:
\mapwriter\
By default the 'run.bat' script looks in the 'world' directory in the main AnvilMapper directory. So one way to use the tool is to copy the directory to the AnvilMapper folder and rename it to 'world' (delete the empty world folder that is already there first).
Alternatively you can modify the 'run.bat' script to point to the world directory you want mapped.
For example, a modified 'run.bat' might look like:
Both MapWriter and AnvilMapper are open-source. Use the code from each in your own mods indiscriminately. I don't care about credit.

Hey im going a mod spotlight for this! great mod and I've been looking for one like this to spotlight for a while now good job!
It would be awesome if you could attach the spotlight to the main post! thanks
Drake
There have been many trools from hf aka hack forums about this and there will be many more but i am going to do a mod for type of minecraft hack/mod so you no longer need to pay for hacked clients from the snoobs at hf. All of the mods are coming from my old minecraft hacked client but my aim is to make sure that you no longer have to put up the rude aggressive people from hf
You need to register your copyright for it to actually be copyrighted, you can't just simply add 'copyright'. Also no lawyer or court or whatever would take a lawsuit other a MC mod seriously so good luck.
Also most if not all code for this mod is stolen already, and i'm loving how you are just ignoring all these posts.
Learn to create your own mod pls.
thank you i really did not know that but the reason im ignoring all these post as there just trolls from hf as no one person can claim to be the creator or the guy who thought of this mod/hack and all im doing is posting it.
Chest Finder
Today I bring to you the chest finder mod.

PNG Merge Tool: MapWriterMerge.zip
(used to merge all images from a world into a single large PNG file but has been
superseded by the /mwmerge command in version 1.2.7)
Installation:
Configuring map options:
%APPDATA%\.minecraft\config\MapWriter.cfg
Look for the following sections:
Most of the options are self explanatory.
Information on files created and used:
.minecraft\saves\\images
.minecraft\saves\mapwriter_mp_worlds\\images
