You already got a server plugin to stop this, congradulations!
I believe your refering to obfuscater plugin (antixray) for bukkit .but you should actually go to the website and read what it does.
I'm sorry to hear that someone saved a snapshot of your server . The upside is it could be looked upon as a complement , that someone found your artwork worth saving. Minecraft creative, a virtual beach ; filled with virtual sand , combined with the endless possibilties of imagination. Enjoy!, for soon the incoming tide will wipe the canvas clean. Hopefully those memories of joy will not be forgotten and live on to inspire a spark of creativity in others .
Is there anyway to download an entire map of a server, and it depends on our computers how long it will take. Because i wan't to figure out the secrets of MineZ, and i don't have the time to walk around the entire map.

This mod does not send any special requests to the server to save the map. It can only save what you actually see as you explore the map. You must walk the world at least until the chunk loads in your client. You must open chests to get the contents sent from the server before it can be saved.
Thanks for continueing development of this great mod. I'm using the v2 Beta and am trying to download a village full of villagers. However, when I open the downloaded world in single player, the village is empty. I did notice that when opening a trade, World Downloader reports that trades saving is not implemented. Is the lack of villagers part of this? If the saving of villager trades is difficult to implement, would it be possible to save the villager entities without their trade data for the time being?
I've finally found a way to reproduce this behavior I've been seeing where not all entities are saved. I have two villages a few hundred blocks apart and depending on how I use World Downloader, when I load the single player copy, either one or both of the villages contain no entities.
It appears that entities are not saved when chunks are unloaded, and only saved when the Stop Download button is clicked. I'll be reporting this as a bug on github. Let me know if there is any other information I can provide.
1.3.2 vanilla server
1.3.2 vanilla client w/ World Downloader v2 beta4 installed via MagicLauncher 0.9.9.

Great troubleshooting to figure out this problem. I've looked through the source and I don't see why it would act that way, but there is apparently something about entity saving when the chunk is unloaded that I don't understand. Thanks for creating an issue at Github to track this. I'll look into it!

So I'm trying to make a nice modpack for myself in the event that my computer's hard drive dies (it's happened before) and I love tinkering with mods to begin with. So Here's what I got:
FML (I would use ModLoader but NotEnoughItems is kinda my preference when it comes to InvEdit ingame)
Optifine B3 Ultimate
NotEnoughItems
Rei's Minimap
Camera Studio Mod - To plan out pathways for video recording
Minema - To get those sweet video recordings of awesome things at the maximum framerate possible, planning on making some videos of a few things)
WorldEditCUI - For WorldEditing purposes
and WorldDownloader v2 Beta4 - Rather than downloading an entire map from my server to make a video and other backup purposes.
Anyways, I started tinkering with Multi-world detection and set that up (you do want error logs right?) So here's the one error log I got when switching between worlds on my bukkit server:

Just to get your opinion though, I'm curious whether the issue is mod incompatibility or not.

Thanks for the crash report. If you are using the Beta version of the mod, this is a bug that I introduced and am working to fix soon. I don't think it's a compatibility problem as your crash report matches some others that have already been posted. I'm tracking the issue at Github. Stay tuned!
Looks like the multiworld feature in the latest beta version is broken. I enabled it and started downloading the first world, then, when i stepped into a portal (from the plugin "transporter" btw.) to get into our creative world, it stopped downloading that world and saved it successfully.
BUT:
Now I can't use this plugin on that server anymore, AT ALL, no matter in what world. And if I try to activate multiworld support in a different server, it crashes right away.

Thank you
It doesn't look like the crash has anything to do with World Downloader. I don't see any World Downloader classes in your error message but it's asking for class aux. That's class ThreadDownloadImageData which World Downloader does not use or modify. I'm not sure what the problem is. Sorry.
Sorry I'm late to respond but waht I was saying is somebody already made a bukkit plug-in to stop this mod from beung used.
It's no problem. There is no mod that can block World Downloader. I've read several threads where people have requested a plugin for Bukkit to do that, but it's undetectable and unstoppable. Every method I've read about either doesn't work or would be trivial for me to workaround if someone actually implemented it. Let me know if you actually have a link to such a mod attempt.
Yeah, no link, because it was done by spleefleague and they dont release their plugins as they are a famos server. You could look at the server. Im 90% sure its their becasue there was talk about it, but I was told never to have the mod on the server again or it was perma ban, so I havn't gone testing it myself.
Might as well give them xray, players tend to use this to download parts of the world, go to their singleplayer with xray locate diamond and take the coordinates down, then they go on the server and mine the diamonds. I'm sure there was good intentions for this, just like xray was really made for redstone, but people tend to abuse power, and they end up using these things for all the wrong reasons. I'm not trying to insult this or any other plugin like this, I'm just pointing out that these things hurt us server owners who don't allow xray or so on there. I own famcraft and I have strict rules against this type of thing, I'll add this plugin to the "not allowed" list of plugins.Btw please don't look for ways around servers that won't allow it, instead you should be making a way to block it, as I said before it's unfair for us server owners who spend so much money to keep a professional server up, then to have some people joining with plugins like this and cheating my players.

If the server requires you to install other mods in order to play, then one of those mods could detect the World Downloader installation. Otherwise, I call BS. They can ask you not to use it, and you should respect the rules when playing on a server, but I don't know how they would possibly detect this without an additional install because the World Downloader mod does not change a single byte in how the client communicates with the server.
Whenever I attempt to download a map, and play in single player - I am just falling through the void. The maps do not load, why is this?
When you click "stop download", it takes some time for the data to be saved to disk. In the release version, there is not indication of when this is complete. The beta version will tell you when it's actually done. Either way, stay connected to the server for enough time for the data to be saved, then disconnect and load the single player world. On a slow computer, it might take 30 seconds or even a minute. Typically, it's less then 5-10 seconds.

This mod does not have X-Ray or any features to find particular types of resources, items, mines, whatever. There are already plenty of mods that can do that. If you don't want players to use it, let them know in your server TOS. I have not added anything to the mod to get around servers that try to block it. It works well with a vanilla Minecraft server and I'm told that it doesn't even work on some "profressional" servers because of other required mods that conflict with it. Putting in a kill switch is pointless because World Downloader is open source. Someone could just remove the kill feature and recompile it from source.
