Oh but, due to the fact that everyone can craft a key, these doors can be openable by anyone, right?
Correct! So kinda pointless at the moment, I know
I would of course be changing the mod quite a bit before any kind of official release.
Just figured you may want to take a look at it as is.
Although, I have just seen that briman0094 is continuing the "keyhole mod" http://www.minecraft...eyhole-mod-v50/
Sounds like he will have SMP support for it soon! Given that was a mod I used a lot in earlier versions, I may discontinue work on my doors mod. Who knows, I am going to have a play with it and see what I think! I may still prefer to go with the key card idea that I floated or just add some extra doors that behave like regular doors, just for the purpose of retexturing.
totally agree with that. Your mod adds the possibility of retexturing (perfect for people like me, without any knowledge about coding) If you make more IDs for doors, stairs, torches, cakes and any placeable and decorative mod, I'm sure your mod will be a very valuable one because it deserves it.
BTW I'll retexture these doors. When I finish them I'll show them here.
Maybe 4 new blank doors, 2 with the properties of wooden doors and 2 with iron door properties (just for variety)
As for stairs, there are already 9 new types in this mod. When 1.3 releases next week 4 of my stair types (the 3 plank types and the sandstone) will be included in vanilla minecraft, so I will be changing mine to other materials.
Cakes I can do, I have already made a start on them. Just need to work out the texture, so expect them soon too! I will also look at adding other stuff as I go.
May have to change from Extreme Edition to Ridiculous Release at this rate though!
Also just added iron bar fence gates into the pack for the next release.
These are just a few screenshots of textures I created using the xtra-blocks mod.

Thanks for an awesome mod I can really use....
Wow, your city is really coming along, this is definitely going to be the next pic of the week.
Although with all these great creations being shared here, I may have to come up with a new way to spotlight them
I will be adding a new update shortly for XtraBlocksExtremeEdition v1.4
Added 5 new doors: (scrapped the key lock idea)
3 x wooden doors: birch, jungle and pine.
2 x iron doors: glass and steel.
Also added birch, jungle and pine fences and fence gates
yes you can.all you have to do is download the update you want and go into the mod you already have an copy the textures you created and put them in the new update then replace the old mod with the new one.YOU MUST take your existing textures and put them in the new mod or you'll loose them.I would like to see you come up with some asian type blocks.I'm gonna be adding china town to my city and would like to use some of your asian blocks if that would be ok....

Yes, what Hikachan said is correct (except for today ). I try not to change any ID's so it doesn't mess up your builds.
But wouldn't you know it , with 1.4 I have actually changed the ID of "ironbar fences" which has in turn forced me to change a few others. Hopefully it doesn't cause to many problems, but I felt it was necessary to keep all of the fences and gates together. There were only a few, I think the trapdoors and maybe a few of the multitexture blocks.
I apologize for any inconvenience but I figured better now than later! (I recommend you make a backup of your config file before updating)
This will hopefully be the only time that I change any ID's

Here are the crafting recipes for the new additions
I had to use wood blocks as opposed to planks as the meta data recipe for planks just wont work!
For anyone using Optifine, I have just noticed that the "OptiFine_1.2.5_HD_S_AA_A7" version will cause held blocks to appear as tiles with the texture of the first item in that blocks terrain.png.
Works fine with the current "OptiFine_1.2.5_HD_S_C6" series
Oh lawd - new doors. Sigh. Like, yeah.. I have a lot of texture work to do. Which, really, isn't something to complain about. Kind of like being beaten unconscious with a bat made of hugs.
Thanks for your work, MK. This is right there with the tech mods as must-have on my (or any) server.

Regarding My previous post about Optifine causing held blocks to appear flat, it seems that the issue is with the block ID's.
The problem only happens when blocks are set higher than 255 and a texture pack is loaded. I have taken a look through the Optifine thread and the Forge forums to see if there is a fix, but I haven't come across anything yet. There was a reported compatibility issue between Optifine and Forge 152, so I even tried updating the mod to build 164 but that didn't fix it.
In the meantime I guess it's only a minor inconvenience for those who really need to use optifine and at least it doesn't affect the placed block. I will amend the mod if I find a fix.

I'm using the latest build of optifine and I haven't noticed anything yet. Then again I haven't updated to the lateset build of this mod yet.I'm waiting for that must have feature you include what ever that may be lol

How about these, 16 of em with 1 block ID
They are not stack-able but there's no funky shadows or anything like that.
Just need to finish up the recipes, will most likely roll it out with default DIY textures!
Edit: Also fixed a few minor things:
Removed iron ingot from half of the DIY glass block recipes.
Fixed up the code so that all the fence and gate types will connect to each other
and a few other little tweaks.
Added 16 DIY slabs, only use 1 ID (they don't stack)
Removed the iron ingot from half of the DIY glass block recipes.
Fixed up the code so that all the new fence and gate types will connect to each other.
Changed the recipe for glow logs.
Fixed a few things in the default textures.

The DIY slabs are great!I'm using The DIY textures more than anything right now so those will be all excellent addition.I'm just affraid I might mess up my world with the change of block id's.Just tossing an idea out to you and you see if you can do it or not.I saw a WIP mod that had windows that opened up like fence gates. Is that something that would be doable?
Here are some screenshots of my latest creation inspired by a famous bridge in NYC.Not all of the blocks are custom but this mod is incorporated in it.

I actually thought about making them into windows when I was coding the fences. It is certainly do-able but not sure if they will come before the 1.3 update.
The ID changes aren't too bad! I originally thought that two of DIYMulti-Blocks were affected, but that was not the case.
Iron Bar Fence has been changed from 1169 to 1177
The block ID's affected by this change are:
Iron ladder was 1170, it is now 1169
XtraTrapDoor was 1171, it is now 1170
XtraTrapDoorIron was 1172, it is now 1171
If you already have too many of those blocks placed in your map, just change the ID in the config file and you will not have to replace them

Will be in the next update, also changed the multitexture blocks to have a texture for each face.
Ooooh pretty. Hmm.. did I just say 'Ooooh'? How odd. I need to get this new server up and going properly (still waiting on Coral Reefs >< ) so I can get to working on my textures for this mod. Sooo much stuff to do hehe.
Come to think of it, I think about the only thing in my original request post on this thread that *hasn't* been filled is the liquids, which is probably a pain in the balls to do. That's pretty awesome Thank you!

This is a dumpster or skipbin
These textures are the roll down metal security window, plywood for the window, and green wall texture.
