I feel like the durability could do with some tweaking, considering the amount of materials that go into a crossbow. We're talking 15 of the material, which is 5 times what a pickaxe has, plus the materials needed for any attachment (which considering most need 6 iron and possibly some rare items, are only really worth it for diamond at this point).
Wood/Stone: Extremely common, so I can't complain too much about current durabilities. Maybe bump stone up to 250/300
Iron: Definitely needs to be bumped up. Considering a pickaxe, which costs a fifth of the iron, has 251 uses, an iron crossbow only having 300 seems a little small
Diamond: For 15 diamonds this is waaaaaay too low in my opinion. I think it should be in the 1500-2000 range.
Mechanisms: On the note of durability, the medium and heavy mechanism are a bit expensive as well. Maybe have them also grant a durability bonus?
Failing that, some way to repair for a relatively low price would go a long way towards helping.

You dragged the entire folder into the jar file. The instructions state "Drag the contentsof the Crossbow Mod folder into minecraft.jar".
In SMP, the bolts act strange when fired, but they work fine in Single Player
This is a known problem which will hopefully be fixed soon.

You dragged the entire folder into the jar file. The instructions state "Drag the contentsof the Crossbow Mod folder into minecraft.jar".
In SMP, the bolts act strange when fired, but they work fine in Single Player
This is a known problem which will hopefully be fixed soon.

i installed the mod right, but when i hold the crossbow it will flash up as a random item, and the crossbow table will have the dirt top texture and stone side textures help!

Crossbow bench is 3 iron on top, workbench in the middle, and the rest planks. Limbs are three sticks next to three of the material (plank, cobblestone, iron, gold, diamond), both done vertically, and you need 5 of them for a crossbow. Attachments vary but usually have 6 iron (4 on the straights and 2 on opposite corners) with something related to the mod running the remaining diagonal. Oh, and the mechanism. Basic mechanism is 5 cobble along the top and left, with two sticks along the diagonal and string for the remainding two places. I don't remember the upgraded mechanisms that well since I never use them.
Also, if you don't already have craftguide, it's a totally awesome mod that'll tell you the crafting recipe for anything that uses the crafting grid or workbench.

While the Crossbow mod is installed, I'm unable to use F1 to turn off the HUD while holding an item in my hand. If I'm not holding anything, it works fine, but as soon as I equip the item, I'm blocked from using F1.

I'm getting crossbow bolts not appearing to fire, the stack of bolts almost instantly disappearing as if they are being fired, and the crossbow being drained of health rapidly. It works fine in ssp though. If this is the problem with bolts you mention in the OP, then I will come back and install this when you update to see if it is fixed. If not, I'll try isolating the problem and reporting if it still doesn't work correctly. I have a ton of mods installed right now, so if it is something known, I don't want to spend the time to try and figure it out again. Thank you, and from what I have seen of the mod so far, I will definitely be using it asap.

I can understand if you say no, it's quite a tall order given the sheer number of different metals that mod has to offer. Still, would be quite nice to make a crossbow made from Sanguinite.
Maybe! It's quite a bit of work though, and I don't have much time atm.
Do you have optifine installed?
Crossbow bench is 3 iron on top, workbench in the middle, and the rest planks. Limbs are three sticks next to three of the material (plank, cobblestone, iron, gold, diamond), both done vertically, and you need 5 of them for a crossbow. Attachments vary but usually have 6 iron (4 on the straights and 2 on opposite corners) with something related to the mod running the remaining diagonal. Oh, and the mechanism. Basic mechanism is 5 cobble along the top and left, with two sticks along the diagonal and string for the remainding two places. I don't remember the upgraded mechanisms that well since I never use them.
Also, if you don't already have craftguide, it's a totally awesome mod that'll tell you the crafting recipe for anything that uses the crafting grid or workbench.

While the Crossbow mod is installed, I'm unable to use F1 to turn off the HUD while holding an item in my hand. If I'm not holding anything, it works fine, but as soon as I equip the item, I'm blocked from using F1.
