This has issues with Optifine, is there anything I could do without uninstalling Optifine? Like some of the video options? If it is not at all compatable you should try and make it. But it's fine if you don't
Got to using this on my server. It works great except for a few problems. Any automatic mechanism on any crossbow will damage the bow as if it were firing but fire won't fire the bolts and will destroy them instead. The second is that the frost attachment seems to have no effect whats sover not causing snow, ice, cooling lava or even slowing mobs...
I don't know what I'm doing wrong here... I'm pretty sure Forge and Player Render API are all up to date. This is Crossbow Mod 2 v4. Thinking about reverting to v3.
EDIT: Well, reverting to v3 didn't work at all. I'm using Forge 4.0.0.241, and Player Render API is the absolute latest that I could find, 1.1 for 1.3.2.
DOUBLE EDIT: ... I ought to check some more to see what I need to update next time. Updated Render Player API to 1.2. Looks like that fixed it.

I feel like the durability could do with some tweaking, considering the amount of materials that go into a crossbow. We're talking 15 of the material, which is 5 times what a pickaxe has, plus the materials needed for any attachment (which considering most need 6 iron and possibly some rare items, are only really worth it for diamond at this point).
Wood/Stone: Extremely common, so I can't complain too much about current durabilities. Maybe bump stone up to 250/300
Iron: Definitely needs to be bumped up. Considering a pickaxe, which costs a fifth of the iron, has 251 uses, an iron crossbow only having 300 seems a little small
Diamond: For 15 diamonds this is waaaaaay too low in my opinion. I think it should be in the 1500-2000 range.
Mechanisms: On the note of durability, the medium and heavy mechanism are a bit expensive as well. Maybe have them also grant a durability bonus?
Failing that, some way to repair for a relatively low price would go a long way towards helping.

If you have Optifine installed then it is the problem, I also didn't use Modloader, just Forge and Player API and it works fine

Edit: Forgot to load render API
Try using a different archiving program, that's all I can think of that would cause that.
Am using Forge 241, Render Player Api 1.2 and Crossbow v4

Right when it appears in the download window, it just says "Decompression failed".
I tried opening it with another archiver but it will not work. But when I tried downloading the 1.2.5 this problem didnt occur.
Should I just wait until it's out of the beta version?
