Yes orignally they do. If I wouldnt do that, stuff would lag like hell. Thats why MoCreatures uses CustomMobSpawner. However just use the special config to make them spawn like monsters. Maybe I should make an boolean in the config to change this without having MSC.
I played around with Atmosmobs and MSC for a while. I tried turning most of your creatures into 'monsters' and also tried setting them to 'ambient'. Both times resulted in pretty much the same effect: way too many spawns. (even though I had the ambient spawn setting in MSC set to 1...)
Anyway, I hope you seriously consider adding integrated Biomes O Plenty support in the near future. I realize its probably a hassle to constantly take other people's mods into account but in this case, BOP was just a little bit late to the party for many people to realize that Extrabiomes just doesnt hold a candle to it.
Can you tell us what other mods you installed with this mod?
well, a few fellows (me included) already noticed when you got ExtraBiomesXL and Mo Creatures, makes only the mobs from Mo Creatures spawn and not the mobs from this mod....

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work when running a Minecraft server on Linux for some reason. When the server is running on Windows, I can connect with the client, but when the server is running on Linux and I try to connect, I simply get disconnected (A button with the caption "Done" appears and it just throws me back in the menu). When I remove AtmosMobs from the server and the client, it continues to work properly with the Linux server with all the other mods (I have about 25-30).
I've checked the server logs and no exception is being thrown, on the server ti just says "EndOfStream" or something similar, quite like a normal disconnect I suppose.
I'm running the latest recommended Forge for 1.4.7 (build 497).
Even with mob spawn controls, the mobs won't appear in biome adding mode. I can manually do it, but for 60+ biomes, it would take forever. Any suggestions on what I should do?
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but every time I spawn swordfish and mahimahi fish into the water, they keep imminently die. Is there a way to fix them or are they only survive in certain locations?

Use one of the configs that come with Atmosmobs. Just drop it in your .minecraft (not minecraft.jar)

Just echoing Naneda: I'm having the same issue with the Mahi Mahi and the Swordfish, however my Angler fish also die on spawn as well - there may be other mobs that do so.
