what i mean is overwhelming with crops no overpowered.. i have tried having mods like pams harvestcraft and all you ever got was mod seeds from the grass.. regular wheat was almost non exsistant.. And iam not missing out on not having extra biomes as i tried that and when a region got wiped it seemed to be random what region it was replaced with. Not having any biomes generating mods mean parts of a server map can be wiped to allow mining regions or to just generate new terrain so players do not have to travel for miles to mine or leave quarry holes everywhere. After extra biomes was added and some regions were wiped the landscape just looked crap.
i dont mind having alot of farming content but sometimes it can go a bit too far and thats why i stopped using Pams harvestcraft anyway.. that and the not very good port to 1.2.5 as it was clashing with itself and wouldnt recognise ID changes so it clashed with MoC as well and i preffered MoC over pams.
So as i said before.. if there is config added to turn down or off certain crops then i guess it could be ok but i just dont want a repeat of harvestcraft where players had a long list of different seeds but no wheat.
I normally find an NPC village and harvest their wheat. (I replant it for them so they still have some ) This will give me the seeds to get started with a wheat farm. I think it is difficult finding wheat seed in tall grass whether or not I'm using a mod that adds other seeds or not. You mentioned that you use the FarmCraftory with Forestry farms....do you use the Forestry wheat farms as well? Even if you plant a regular farm it shouldn't take long to get all the seeds you need. I love doing bee keeping and need even more wheat seed than ever now in order to make apiaries....lol. We haven't had any problem with Pam's causing problems with anything. (We have about 40 mods currently) I love the huge variety of crops she offers along with all the different types of food you can make with them.
As far as all the mining...we've never had that problem where entire areas get devastated. There are so many caves and abandoned mines underground and it never affects the surface at all. Some are so huge and connect to others that it can cover multiple biomes and even after months of playing haven't mined areas out of it's resources. Do you guys use macerators or the rock crusher to get 2 dust for every ore? That helps alot as well. But if you do ruin the surface you should get someone that enjoys tera forming. That's a lot of fun to do as well since you can remake the area however you want. =) Another option you might try instead of having to reload and area all the time is the teleport mod. We just started using that and it's really nice to be able to teleport to an area that is farther away that someone has found that has a good mine or cave full of goodies.
I think it would be a good compromise if Nightshade does combine them back into one mod is allowing for crops to be turned off or on. He seems to do that with most everything in his mod so I would think he would continue doing so.
The next update of LCTrees will be out in a few days, and because it will merge with LCCrops, I have been pondering on giving the mod a new name.
I'll take suggestions! Mainly because I'm having difficulty coming up with a good one >.>
BTW "NatureCraft" is already taken by a texture pack developer. I would have used it otherwise...
If I see a good one, I'll use it, + rep you and give you credit on the OP.

I lived in the Sonora Desert for 34 years and it is an amazing place with lots of neat plants. :-)

Hmm, I do rather like "Ambient Colours". "Nature Power" is good too, puts me in mind of Redpower2 (another amazing mod that has a bit something for everyone, from tech to aesthetics).
S'up! I love this mod in my normal single player play-throughs; however, i recently added and switched over to Technic. While the install instructions "should" be similar, i can't get LCTrees++ to work. I'm not crashing; the game starts up with the technic launcher just fine; but it dosnt show up in the "loaded mods" tab. I have installed the correct forge version needed. Any help or additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
EDIT: If it helps, i've added pics of the mods I'm currently pushing on my SSP stuff. Just to reiterate, im not getting crashes, i'm just not seeing the mod engaged with its added features at all.

I just updated the LCCrops textures.
Planks are more realistic, and I've added some textures for the next update.

Its not my computer, as my computer is really good and is very expensive.
