I altered the deed file to reflect 'true evil', things like funding the liberals, taking the nobel prize seriously, supporting the mainstream media, encouraging progressivism, helping get a fanatical tool elected, That sort of thing. It feels MUCH more evil now.
I noticed a few things:
Inventory tweaks does not play well with minions when you have a large number of mods installed. with Inventory tweaks, minion behavior seems to become enormously stupid to the point where you will swear and call them 'minecraft morons'.
Occasionally Minions will crash when encountering silverfish blocks and railcraft's 'invisible detector blocks'.
If Minions somehow are in an unloaded chunk, they will often stop responding to 'return' orders. Additionally, they also seem to frequently drop into 'in between space' when a chunk containing them unloads, making interaction impossible.
overhead lava (probably due to block updates) also seems to overload their AI
any side? you lost me. as far as sound files, You would probably find them highly offensive stuff like margie screaming 'you are ******* scum' at a poor guy who wanted to see warren Farrell's presentation at a university in canada, and obama's stuttering attempts to justify drone attacks on american civilians. That kind of thing.
As far as content, I was giving impressions, not technical data. I play very very frequently, and every once in a while I get crashes due to minions encountering an unexpected error. generally, when i reload the world, I find a block that is.... unusual in the path of the minions that were strip mining. This is the result of testing, not of error logs.
I found that the minions behaved more predictably when I removed inventory tweaks. (They stopped depositing blocks of dirt at the beginning of every strip mine, and would occasionally even return to the chest they were assigned to after strip mining. Not frequently, but occasionally) I also discovered that after assigning railcraft's detector block to 0, the number of 'unexpected errors' dramatically decreased. with inventweaks enabled, often strip mining simply would not work, or they would go ten blocks and then vanish into oblivion, or one of the minions (I run with three, usually) would simply stop doing anything whatsoever until all were dismissed and resummoned. With inventory tweaks and a large number of mods involved, every time you opened up your inventory one of the minions would stop, permanently. (although the other minions would temporarily blit around at lightspeed, sawing through large tracts for a few seconds at incredible speeds before returning to normal behavior)
by overloading their AI, I mean that often when encountering lava or water, especially in the nether, the CPU usage peaked dramatically, causing several temporary freezes, I assume due to simultaneous block updates and heavy AI CPU usage. Minions and liquids do NOT get along well. This behavior also occurs regularly while performing any action. This is not unacceptable (I am still using the mod, after all) but it has led to some lag kills when i was walking towards a ledge and the action unfroze again with a 'you have died' sign at the bottom of one of the mineshafts.
as far as not responding when they are some distance away (approximately 5 or more chunks) I suggest you test that yourself. It's not a crash bug, simply an observation.
And yes, I am fully aware that it could also be my piece of sh** computer (4 gigs, 3 assigned for java) or my piece of crap video card (Radeon) or even interaction with some of my favorite mods (Minefactory, millenaires (which I understand uses similar ai pathing now), treecapitator).
These are simply observations. I have not retained crash logs, most of them are performance problems, not crashing problems. I have noticed a steady decline in performace since 1.25 (when I first encountered and fell in love with the mod on yogbox) but assumed (possibly incorrectly) that this was probably due to my increasing use of mods since then, and the corresponding CPU effects. However, I am running an extremely minimal pack at this time (would you like the list? There are several, but most add only a few or no items to the game, like immibis chunkloader and treecapitator) and have still noticed frequent, unpredictable behavior.
Crash logs or you are a filthy lying peasant
Calling someone a liar is not funny, especially when they are only making observations with the intention to assist, if possible, with a mod they enjoy. I am not asking you for anything, I am not trying to convince you of anything, I am not trying to prove anything, and I am not trying to give you advice, ask for help, or ask for additional features. I am merely making observations that you may or may not find useful.I have no stake or name in your game, I am not even a programmer, I am a texture/pixel artist. I am not trying to one-up you, or call attention to your mistakes, or get my name in the credits, or even get a thank you. Look at it or not, your call.
Check and make sure your /.minecraft/config subdirectory has AS_Minions.cfg as well as AS_Minions_Advanced.cfg in it. If not, the install did not happen properly, try reinstalling, reread directions.
This happened to me on a new reinstall as well. simply restarting the game fixed the problem. BTW, some text editors will actually change the format of the config file... I accidentally saved the config file with a different encoding once (xml encoding) by mistake and it wouldn't run until I realized my mistake and fixed it.
Minions tend to disappear while digging a mineshaft, the digging still takes place but the small guys are invisible. logging out and loggin in renders them back again

FWIW I've noticed them turning invisible from time to time as well. It's not exactly a show-stopper so I didn't bother mentioning it here, but if I manage to make it repeatable or figure out when it happens, I'll report back in.

I found a small problem between this mod and Undergound Biomes. Even setting the Minions_advanced config to have the normal stone types as worthless when I tell them to stripmine they act like the stone is ore and start collecting it from all around them rather than digging in a strait line, I haven't been to the neighter with it in 1.6.2 yet but in 1.5.2 I had the same problem with neither brick they went through the wrack in a strait line then hit a fortress and started stripping all the brick as if it was ore.
The atmosphere of our mod reminds me of a game called Dungeon Keeper where you played an evil master and had a hand as a pointer to make your slaves dig dig dig . Never saw another game like this one.
You should take a look at some "Let's Play" series for a little old game called "Overlord" and "Overlord II." There's not any digging, but you have a horde of minions that fight with you. BTW, there's also a game in development called "War for the Overworld" which will be, basically, a DK style remake.
Either FMLCommonHandler.instance().getMinecraftServerInstance() or Entity.worldObj.provider are null
Neither should really ever happen
Happened twice to me when minions are summoned and doing nothing (after some time).
Also when they strip mine, they tend to disappear (they even can do that in front of my eyes) after a while, dropping stuff to ground, like when I unsummon them with a staff (they make noise before disappearing), but I don't actually do that.
RenderMinion.java, MinionsRenderHook.java, RenderChickenLightningBolt.java are all showing errors releated to this import that cannot be resolved.
import net.minecraft.client.resources.ResourceLocation;
EDIT: Or update from my repo, because i fixed that 37 hours ago

I have no clue how Inventory Tweaks is even supposed to interact with Minions, and you aren't telling either
Call them whatever, they are your Minions
Crash logs or you are a filthy lying peasant
Minions should keep the chunks around them from being unloaded, at all. However i did not test this in a while.
What do you mean, overload their AI? Your entire post lacks actual content somehow

did you extract the contents of the zipfile into your minecraft folder? or just dump the whole thing into 'mods' and expect it to work?

They don't add torches when they mine out a space, either... only when strip mining.

You should take a look at some "Let's Play" series for a little old game called "Overlord" and "Overlord II." There's not any digging, but you have a horde of minions that fight with you. BTW, there's also a game in development called "War for the Overworld" which will be, basically, a DK style remake.
Yes, I use it for Millenaire, too, with all the resource requirements the villages have there, this is super handy.
Either FMLCommonHandler.instance().getMinecraftServerInstance() or Entity.worldObj.provider are null
Neither should really ever happen
Also when they strip mine, they tend to disappear (they even can do that in front of my eyes) after a while, dropping stuff to ground, like when I unsummon them with a staff (they make noise before disappearing), but I don't actually do that.
