Having somewhat of an issue, shadows aren't displaying anywhere except for noisy bits on leaf blocks. Everything else including water and waving blocks seems to work fine, it's just the shadows that aren't being very shadowy.

I see you're using Optifine D3 Ultra so I'm assuming you have GLSL 1.46 to go with it (if it's a preview you need D2 Ultra)
If it is 1.46 then the bad news is that it's not compatible with Forge (yet)

I'm going from running a HD texture pack with 200-300 FPS to default textures with 7 FPS. Looks really nice but completely unplayable. I'm sure it's "my fault" even though I have everything installed right and have a beast PC. Its sad, I was looking forward to using this.
Question. My sincerest apologies if it has already been asked or answered, I know you have to deal with a lot of that. I checked back through pages to your updated normal and specular mapping release and checked Sonic's Facebook page first, but to no avail.
I'm trying to make my texture packs utilize normal and specular mapping, and I got some progress on it before the 1.5 update introduced the new texture system. It's great to hear you managed to get the mod updated, but how do the normal mapping and specular mapping images fare? Are they still using the same images ("terrain_nh" and "terrain_s"), or are the textures divided to follow the standard textures?
A "beast" PC eh? Last person I spoke to who claimed he had a "beast" PC actually had something which a couple of years ago would have been mid-range at best.
Care to enlighten me on the specs which you think deserve "beast" status?
Its not an issue with "if I have a beast PC" or not, i'm just stating that i'm not on some walmart laptop with 1 gb ram. I was looking for help or advice on the issue of FPS dramatically dropping using the shader, not options on if you think my PC is good enough.
It's one and the same thing, if your pc isn't good enough, you get crappy framerates
By just saying it's a "beast" instead of giving actual details I have no idea if your 7fps is to be expected or if you have an actual problem
I've lost count of the number of people who think that because they can run CoD at 30+fps that they should also be able to run GLSL shaders at the same framerate.

It's your "beast" of a graphics card that's the problem, see the cards above yours in the chart, they get roughly 40-60fps
I suggest you give Chocapics shaders a try, he has Lite versions which work better on "powerful" PCs

Simple put, the issue I'm running into is that the water appears black constantly, and the world is bathed in red lighting throughout the day and night.
Installation was done after doing a fresh install of minecraft. Meta folder in minecraft.jar is removed, the shader pack being used is SEUS v10 RC7 Ultra and minecraft is updated to 1.5.2. Installation was done via use of Magic Launcher, with optifine being loaded first, followed by the shader mod and then world downloader (tried doing it without world downloader as well just in case). The settings for clear water is set to be on, while antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, and connected textures is set to be off. Graphics were also set to be fast rather than fancy.
Another thing to note is I've tried putting the shaders in the shader pack folder both in zip and folder format. As a last attempt, I tried installing it manually by inserting the mod files into the jar file in this order: Optifine > ShaderMod

ive had a lot of the same problems as damashki (in particular the blackened water) and one more problem: when i am underground, and the sun sets or rises, i see the effects underground, no matter how deep, and it seems to be at random.
I tried creating a new world in single player, and the issue with red lighting didn't appear. After that, I proceeded to create a new world in my design server and it didn't appear there as well. I guess it was an issue with older worlds, which is kinda sad but oh well. On that note, I still have issues with the water appearing to be black. Here's the current view:

Ah, thank you! I can once again work on normal maps! It makes the game look so much better. Of course, that and the shaders themselves. Good job with updating this! Now I'll need to brush up on my normal map skills again...

This might be a stupid question but you have clear water enabled right? I'll let you you see about 8 blocks underwater before it goes black, that's a "feature" of the water in RC7
A very easy fix is to drop back to RC6 based shaders, as the lighting underwater is calculated differently you don't have the black water problem.

Edit: so.... I tried toggling the clear water setting off and on again just for the fun of it, and it started working. Logged out and back in, and it appeared black again. It seems like I have to toggle it once each time I log in just to get it working again. Just for the fun of it, the shader was switched over to RC6 and it appeared fine, but once I switched back to RC7 it appeared all black again until I did a re-toggle. Do you think it's a glitch with the mod or just something wrong with my system? I guess it's something I can live with @_@

I'm trying to make my texture packs utilize normal and specular mapping, and I got some progress on it before the 1.5 update introduced the new texture system. It's great to hear you managed to get the mod updated, but how do the normal mapping and specular mapping images fare? Are they still using the same images ("terrain_nh" and "terrain_s"), or are the textures divided to follow the standard textures?

Its not an issue with "if I have a beast PC" or not, i'm just stating that i'm not on some walmart laptop with 1 gb ram. I was looking for help or advice on the issue of FPS dramatically dropping using the shader, not options on if you think my PC is good enough.

Simple put, the issue I'm running into is that the water appears black constantly, and the world is bathed in red lighting throughout the day and night.
Installation was done after doing a fresh install of minecraft. Meta folder in minecraft.jar is removed, the shader pack being used is SEUS v10 RC7 Ultra and minecraft is updated to 1.5.2. Installation was done via use of Magic Launcher, with optifine being loaded first, followed by the shader mod and then world downloader (tried doing it without world downloader as well just in case). The settings for clear water is set to be on, while antialiasing, anisotropic filtering, and connected textures is set to be off. Graphics were also set to be fast rather than fancy.
Another thing to note is I've tried putting the shaders in the shader pack folder both in zip and folder format. As a last attempt, I tried installing it manually by inserting the mod files into the jar file in this order: Optifine > ShaderMod

Edit: so.... I tried toggling the clear water setting off and on again just for the fun of it, and it started working. Logged out and back in, and it appeared black again. It seems like I have to toggle it once each time I log in just to get it working again. Just for the fun of it, the shader was switched over to RC6 and it appeared fine, but once I switched back to RC7 it appeared all black again until I did a re-toggle. Do you think it's a glitch with the mod or just something wrong with my system? I guess it's something I can live with @_@
