With the release of version 3.47 of BTW, keep in mind the part of the BTB readme that states you will have to reinstall Better Then Buildcraft again AFTER installing a new version of Better Than Wolves.
BTB modifies some of the same files that BTW does, so you need to make sure that they properly overwrite each other by installing BTB afterwards.
My apologies for any inconvenience this may represent. I'll try to get it sorted in future releases.
is anyone else having problems with the power pipes not working? I have a combustion engine set up and running with coolant and fuel set up to feed it, and trying to feed both pumps power from the one engine, and use that engine for the quarry's power as well, but the conductive intake pipe is the only power pipe that recieves power. im running BC 2.2.11 and the latest version of BTW and BTB. i am also running a redstone mod (for vertical power) and TMI. everything else runs great. put powering multiple devices is a headach right now for me.

It's unlikely this is a BTB-related issue man, as I don't do anything to the code for the conductive pipes in this mod. Only the recipe changes, and that doesn't affect functionality. You might want to ask on the BC thread, as people there would probably be much more capable of helping with this particular issue.

ok. i'll take a look over there. they worked fine on 2.2.9 and 3.x so maybe its something with 2.2.11. thanks for pointing me in the right direction, though.

No worries man. As much as I love the mod, I'm still not a BC expert by a long-shot, so sorry I couldn't be of more immediate help.
How do we make Low Friction Pipes? I cant seem to figure out how, and i suspect its an anvil recipe...

Playing since Beta 1.3_01. Yeah. I like BTW. Or used to. Still do. Stuff Technic. (Back in the day...)

Low Friction Transport Pipe: (BCE: Stone Transport Pipe) Low Friction Pipes may be created by heating 4 Transport Pipes in a Cauldron along with Tallow.

maybe thats not the topic but, as i know if i found seed with lots oil around spawn, and i want to share it. Will oil spawn at same place in friends game? As i know it will, because of oil generation code but i just want to know if im thinking right. :smile.gif:
Nope, oil spawn is random, even when using the same seed.
Which is unfortunate, both because I got ninja'd (Should've read to bottom) and because while playing hardcore mode I found the mother of oil springs, died and reloaded that seed to find nothing there.
could you make it so that both of the mods are included in the download?
MANY For YOU!
This isn't going to happen for many reasons already posted. It takes a couple minutes to install this all, it's not a big deal. But I'm sure they'll reconsider all of their statements on that when they hear they have pictures of diamonds in it for them if they do.
how does the oil spawning work then? if it is randomized and not based upon the seed, does this mean that a world generates normally, and Buildcraft then generates the oil? or is the oilgeneration put into the worldgeneration?
i am kind of hesitating to use this because of it. i've played IC and BC before, and the whole worldgen altering was a big reason for me to quit them. it makes minecraft saves extremely messy.
would you consider altering the way oil is generated? would it be possible to, say, compress seeds into oil? or create oil in a reactor tank, where Carbon powder, Water and a catalyst like Souldust, hellfire dust, or some other volatile ingredient are combined into Oil?
well, there are a bazillion other ways to produce Oil. i do think the Water/Carbon powder/catalyst in a reactor tank (with stoked fire?) could be an excellent addition. plus it is true to both the Buildcraft and BTW theme.
and on a slightly related note: with Buildcraft's pump system, would you consider creating new processes for the more advanced machines? one "hindrance" of BTW crafting is that water is still limited to buckets, making mass-crafting anything water-related impossible. Builcraft and it's liquid pipes remove this problem, so you could for example consider mass-producing Cement in aforementioned Reactor Tank. other things include moisturizing Planters, using the reactor tank for potions, and such.
i personally look forward to a new kind of automation where you have to put ingredients into a tank in sequence.
a last bit of food for thought:
with aforementioned mass-producing of Potions, the simplest Nether Transport Liquid would be a potion of Fire Resistance. after all, the Nether is a hot, dry place, filled with infinitely burning stone. water with an inherent, magical resistance to fire would certainly solve that.
alternatively, some kind of "soulpurge" potion (both to make mobs forcibly drop XP upon death by any source) which is crafted into a bucket of Soulpurge water could do the trick. but it would certainly promote and make useful the Potion side of Minecraft
This may add mod compatibility but it's ridiculous because even though it gives certain things other recipes, these recipes are 2-3 times as hard because u use like 2-3 times the resources...making it completely pointless and easier to just get the two mods separately
In a test world I have been trying buildcraft configs, after a number of pipes being active, I get huge lag spikes that make the game pretty much unplayable for me..
Do you experience the same performance issues with just BC alone? I'm trying to figure out here if this is a BC issue, or a BTB specific one, as I don't think I've done anything with BTB that should affect performance.

I think it's on btb's end, playing on just buildcraft doesn't affect anything, and playing on just btw is fine as well. I'm not sure what's causing it :/
Could someone point out some good mods to go along with this? Since most mods I try are incompatible with it, and trying to find ones that are is a pain, so if you already know some that would be good to go with it, I would appreciate you pointing them out for me.Could someone point out some good mods to go along with this? But to stress it out again, it is not your fault or responsibility FC :]
Well, that's a relief, but sorry to hear about the issues man. Have you tried asking about them on the BC thread to see if there's something that can be done on your end about that? I suspect it's probably a known issue amongst that community.
Since BC is SMP compatible, is this going to be SMP any time sooner than BTW was? Me and my friend would love that.
He likes playing BC with me, and we both like BTW. I was just wondering. If not I don't really care, me and my friend can do Vanilla together. Nice job merging the two, like people have said though, have you thought of merging it with IC2(and editing the IC2 Recipes alot to make it harder)?

The above mod, my friend, is a boss.
