hi folks
metallurgy works with 1.5.1 now? i've been watching the o.p. and didn't notice ... anyway, i wanted to say about i.d. conflicts: some people have used configs from modpacks like technic or ftb for building their own personal (and similar) packs, so you know that they work at least for that particular list of mods and you may only want to add or subtract a couple of others - apologies if this has already been said.
the only modpack i've found with the full suite (sweet!) of metallurgy is 'Astocky Pack', it also has things like thaumcraft, twilight forest, nei and other common and not so common mods - it's worth a look if you haven't seen it. 'big dig' via technic also has some metallurgy parts but not all of them and a heap of others. so their configs may be useful, also if you can get your game to run at all you can get a grand list of all block and item id's and the unused gaps from nei under options. hope someone finds this useful. i'm code-illiterate myself.
umm .... edit/p.s. remember that item ids appear +256 in the game, so if you give something number 1000 in a cfg file it will appear as 1256 in the nei list for instance - i think block id's are not changed (it may be the other way around imanoobre-member)
hope this isn't against the rules but this is the adfly address for 3.0.0.7.1 http://adf.ly/Lndoq
How exactly does the distrubution system work for the ores? I want to know where to dig/mine for the best of success. Are there more metals spawned on certain levels? I also use this mod in conjunction with extrabiomesxl... so.. if that affects anything significant...
i have adjusted a few of the settings for ore generation myself - if you have a look in the Metallurgy config files (theres a folder called Metallurgy in [.minecraft] --> [config] and the .cfg files for each part) you can read them with notepad or similar and you will see settings for depth, veins per chunk and blocks of ore per vein. So you can see whether there would be any atlarus above level 64 etc. Vein count is the number of veins per chunk in the depths you specify and ore count is the max number of ore blocks in each vein (it may be less).
(this is for the 1.4.7. version btw Metallurgy 2, and windows)
you can even adjust smelter speeds and other things but i've only changed ore heights and frequency
vanilla blocks like diamond, redstone, LL are in MetallurgyCore.cfg and if you look at the bottom of the file it says "Enable Diamond" =false etc. so if you change the settings for these ores you need to change those bottom lines to "EnableDiamond"=true otherwise your changes won't register. Remember to save the changes you make to the cfg file. Also this will only change in unloaded chunks/ places you haven't already been to in existing worlds/ new worlds. It takes a bit of tuning and you can over-do it ... but to each his/her own.
Thank you all for your hard work on this fantastic mod! I can not wait for public release for 1.5 ... its the last mod I'm waiting for so I can update!
Someone just asked MDiyo about this over on Tinker's Construct so I figured I'd give a heads up over here: he's basically waiting to see where M3 goes, so he probably won't do much at least until after Keith gets out some official 1.5.1 M3 releases. At least, doesn't look like he's trying to use the prereleases to get started on harmonizing the two mods.
I too am looking forward to seeing what he does with M3 and Tinker's Construct, should be a lot of fun.
I'm having an issue with Metallurgy 3.0.0.0.8.1
It seems to be incompatible with texture packs. I use OptiFine HD on Minecraft 1.5.1, and when Metallurgy is installed, the game crashes upon start up if I'm currently using any texture packs, and if I try to switch to one after starting up the game, I get this error repeating infinitely-
Couple things, 1, is it compatable with Metallurgy? and 2. I can't find your Twitter link for the latest Metallurgy build.

Yep, looking forward to whatever he does with it.

Edit: he made 3.0.0.0.8.1 for receiving xp for smelting Metallurgy ores. http://adf.ly/MEv1a
It'll probably be a bit time consuming job because of the complexity of this mod.

Both of the texture packs I tried using are 64x and for Minecraft 1.5.1 (Broken Anachronism and Misa's Realistic). Anyone else having this issue?
It is updated to 1.5.1. the most recent update (on RebelKeithys twitter... 8.1) works with 1.5.1
So why did he not update the thred >_>
I'm still working out the bugs, once I get a version I feel is good I'll update the thread.
Fair enough.
When its done seems to be the rough estimate.
