Oh shoot, it looks like maybe the new update requires a more recent Forge version? Hmm, looking into it, it seems like it requires Forge 3.1 or higher.
Ah, I could try that. I have 3.0.1.75 so I'll test with the latest recommended Forge and get back to you.
EDIT: Ok, so using the latest recommended version, 3.1.2.94, allows my game to work with the latest Twilight Forest now. My textures are a bit screwed up now though so I'll have to see about fixing that.
I hate to be a downer, but I think I found a bug (no not a firefly an actual code bug)

Created a test world, made a portal and jumped in when this happened. Sorry dude, but it looks like something's gone wrong with the tower generation. =\ At leased I think so from reading this crash log.
Regardless of bugs or whatnot I still want to say that this is one of my all time favourite mods. Keep up the excellent work.
1. Sometimes I come across this pillar of obsidian block with a lapis azul block on top. What are those?
2. Is there any way to customize the foliage and grass color of the biomes? Are they directly connected to the foliage and grass color palettes in a texture pack?

Yeah, that looks like a crash bug alright. I'll see if it's something I can fix just looking at the code. Can you load the save in order to get the world seed, or does it crash when loading as well?
The good...
The new maps. Magic Map is the best of them all, IMO.
The new achievements.
The new creatures.
The new sounds.
The bad...
Didn't get the achievement after killing a Lich. I was on Creative, in Hard difficulty, and managed to get all Kill achievements but that.
The laggy..
Hollow Hill + Mobs bunched up in it = Crappy FPS.
Switching to the Magic Map causes quite a bit of FPS loss.
Overall, great update.
Oof, I thought I got all those achievements functional (aside from the ones I marked NYI), but it's kind of fiddly work and I may have missed the Lich.
The magic map may cause some lag when it's first opened if you've just been stationary. It relies on biome data, which the game keeps in a cache, but it lets it expire after only a short time and then has to regenerate it when you open the map again.
I have recently installed the latest Twilight Forest, and updated to the latest build of Forge (3.1.3.103) however the ConcurrentModificationException bug still persists in the same location in the world. Again, it's possible to simply avoid the areas I mentioned in my previous post (a lich tower and hollow hills) and the crashing doesn't happen. Even when I do go near these areas the crash is frequent, but not really predictable when beyond "it'll happen when you're close, and won't if you stay far away".
As you're having trouble reproducing the crash, would it be helpful if I 7zipped my TF world file (DIM7?) and send you a dropbox link so you can test with a world that seems to reproduce the crash quite reliably?
It would help. You may have to send the entire server file, as it may be dependent on the world seed also. I do really want to fix that, it sounds annoying.
1. Sometimes I come across this pillar of obsidian block with a lapis azul block on top. What are those?
2. Is there any way to customize the foliage and grass color of the biomes? Are they directly connected to the foliage and grass color palettes in a texture pack?
The pillars are not important and you should stop paying attention to them and let them fade into the background. Okay, well really, there's no current effects, but they tie into a story-type thing I have plans for.
I think the code for the particular biome has the last say on foliage colors, but only the swamp biome actually changes them, the rest just pass on the information from the texture pack. As far as I can recall anyways, I don't have the code in front of me right now. Why do you ask?
I don't like this being part of forge only cause I can't use it with better than wolves which is the mod I most want to use it with because my other jar has all these mods that add fancy world gen stuff I need to play them and so going to a dimension without that stuff isn't appealing. Btw ftw!
I personally love this mod with Forge. I use only forge mods to ensure compatibility. If this mod dropped forge, i would drop it too. Better then wolves is incompatible with nigh everything, forge or not forge. Forge forever!
I feel stupid asking this, but I was setting up a world so me and my friend could play this, but I couldn't find the server.jar, Could you help me with that, or would it be better to ask somewhere else?

See, without forge, this and BTW would have too many block IDs to function together, and BTW probably edits too many base classes for this to function with it anyways, face it, if you want to use BTW, kiss almost every other mod goodbye.
Well I wanted to play around with different colors for the swamps. I think they are too purple and dark (unless I messed something up using many mods). I live on the edge of a huge swamp reserve, and nothing is near purple. In fact, swamps are very olive green/ dark yellow green.
Here's what I mean:
Also, I was trying out your new update. I really love the squirrels; they behave like real ones, always running about. I think the birds are quite cute. I'm not sure what other creatures there are yet besides the bunnies and ravens, however there has been a huge increase in lag. I think this might be due to the many mobs that spawn on the map. I used single player commands to kill all mobs around me and it killed about 680 mobs! I think that might be too much mob population. I also felt like there were squirrels, birds, and those colorful goats everywhere; I think smaller populations will appear more real; right now every chunk of the map has at least one mob.

That bug seemed to be a one off, probably because tower generation is really only called once. I loaded the map and got into the Twilight Forrest fine, parts of the tower were missing but at leased it's there and I can explore it.

I see! I like Better Than Wolves too, but it's unlikely that even without Forge that I'd be compatible. Like other people have said, BTW uses too many block IDs, and changes too much about the world to be compatible with much.

Ah. Well the color tinting the swamps do for the water/foliage/grass is fairly easily modifiable in the biome code.

Here's a short runthrough of my current proof-of-concept test for the "dark forest" biome, based on Somnixer's suggestions and my own ideas. The idea is that it's as dark as underground, but you're actually just under an opaque tree canopy. If I decide to go with this, I would want to add some ground cover, maybe with some glowing plants mixed in. Also, maybe some monsters.
Ah, I could try that. I have 3.0.1.75 so I'll test with the latest recommended Forge and get back to you.
EDIT: Ok, so using the latest recommended version, 3.1.2.94, allows my game to work with the latest Twilight Forest now.

This has nothing in common with the book/movie series, except a simple word. You are an ignorant son of a *****.

I too saw this, but I think it was just because I entered the chunk too quickly and it didn't load it right.
