Its sad how some of the best mods are incompatible with most every mod because they decided not to be compatible with forge.
Even if I compile it with Forge, it will still be incompatible with 99% Forge mods. Why? Because SSP gets rid of internal server on which almost every mod relies on.

Well, try to implement SSP. Generators should be easy on their own... But does your Indev generator have real boundaries on -128 Y coordinate? IDK whether that's possible to implement with Forge at all...
I think it's possible Forge might have hooks for 99% of what SSP does, not 100% sure.
On the Indev generator, I'm not sure what you're talking about. It works kinda okay, you can even try a version of it if you want, I have the code on Github.
I did this a good while ago now, but in one of my somewhat abandoned game attempts, I used the Indev world generation from your mod, and it worked surprisingly well. I DID have to rewrite the world renderer and world storage, but I think it was for the better. Here's a screenshot:

I think making all your mods rely on SSP as a loader may be a bit of a issue because it makes MP impossible, and also makes the mod 100% incompatible with everything. Maybe separate the loader from SSP? I don't use BTW despite it's famous-ness because of the same reason, it's made sure to become 100% incompatible with Forge.

I don't think so.
On the Indev generator, I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Indev has finite maps. Around the maps, there is infinite grass/water field. It's not real ground, it's... Well, infinite field. On Floating maps, it's placed on -128 Y coordinate. Try to fall in Indev, and you'll see what I'm talking about. If you generate an Indev map in OldDays, you can see that. The boundaries are ALREADY there when the map starts generating. Just as in Indev, they are not "real".

It doesn't make MP impossible. SSP is capable of disabling itself. When you open a world to LAN, it immediately restarts the world in server mode.
You can try to separate the loader from SSP, but OldDays is kinda useless without SSP. Again, SSP is the most important thing. Without it OldDays would still be for 1.2.5.

I suppose the overrides you need aren't in Forge, but I should think at least a good bit of Forge has was SSP does.

I know what you're talking about with the floating maps, I know that Forge won't let me put blocks outside a chunk, and I wouldn't try to anyway. I think I would just leave it as the void for floating maps, so I don't make Forge unhappy. I never saw the -128Y when I last used OldDays though, maybe I was using too old of a version. o_O

I mean full SMP, not LAN.

I know OldDays is more of a mod to change textures and rendering, so I might do that after I figure out more basic things. A nice looking indev island map for instance would be a good goal.

I'm on the CSM team, but I've retired from Minecraft modding for the most part. I made Cliffie's Goos.
I'm an old-timer, been around since Alpha. MC: Windows 10 edition is like the uncanny valley, almost modern Minecraft but off in every way.
I have an XBox tag, but only because I needed one to try the Windows 10 version. I don't have an XBox.

Forgot about that. Still, Forge won't let me put any collisionboxes down there as far as I'm aware, plus I'd die of fall damage/void damage anyway. I don't think it's possible with Forge.

This is not the case at all.
Forge isn't a magic bullet.
SSP is the problem!
While SSP is great for those who have trouble with Internal Server, It troubles mods.
1.2.5 OldDays was compatible with (almost) everything.
Infact the only Mod that has ever worked (after 1.3) is Optifine.
Forge is just more work for no gain.

Hey, just want to say that I love this mod, it is the only way I can play mc anymore, but I'm having some serious problems upon installing...
I had the mod for version 1.3.2 and it worked fine, but I tried installing the newer, updated version for 1.6.4 and I've run into some strange problems..the mod does work, as I can use whatever I have turned on/off and I can see the selective screen upon pressing H, but I seem to have a consistent lag, on top of the fact that placed blocks aren't saving...I place 2 blocks, I save, come back, and the placed blocks are gone, however, in my inventory the blocks are gone as well..so it seems minecraft is saving the player data files but not the world files..is there something I did wrong? Or has anyone else experienced this problem? I did exactly as follows:
1. Copied 1.6.4 version
2. Renamed version
3. Edited .jar and .json files respectively, including open .json in notepad and editing version in there
4. Deleted META INF in copied file, added all SSP and Olddaysallin1 files to .jar
5. Selected copied version in profile editor in launcher.
However I am still experiencing this problem and it makes minecraft unplayable, considering I like to save my progress..

Oi, Forge is better then base class modding or writing your own loader!
Forge is more work, I admit that's true. But it's better then writing your own loader or trying to base-class mod, which creates huge incompatibility issues. At least 75% of mods use Forge, it looks like.

I have done the impossible, (not really).
I have found a mod fully compatible with Olddays.
(It is a really small mod however), it's the Lumberjack mod.

The olddays mod is dead, sorry to tell you.
The far lands generation was epic, why not re-add it?

I wasn't picking on Forge.
It is just converting this mod is kind of like wanting Minecraft to be in C++ for better performance.
It is just more work for no gain.

I think there's a gain, a popular mod gains compatibility with a popular mod loader.
