I am a pretty nostalgic person (80-90 tv shows-music) with good things, basically I don´t feel nothing nostalgic about something soo complicated, antifun, not efficient (tons of lag duh), not user friendly as the vanilla redstone (at last dead for good).
Vanilla Redstone is a shinning example of poor implementation, as such it should be remembered simply to show us what we shouldn't do. If that system didn't also cause pistons to behave poorly, we could declare it dead. Unfortunately, we'll likely have that gremlin to remind us of it forever.
I would like to see gravity play a role in the system like a pump can't pull water that is lower than 10 blocks (meters) from where the pump is and that the pump would use more BT for every block the destination is higher than the pump, instead of needing a stronger pump when needing to pump higher (would need a lot more coding though, if even possible, and i do not want Eloraam to overwork herself trying to implement such a feature) (would be awesome if she did though).
If she were to choose to do that, shouldn't I be able to create a negative pressure from a higher placed source to suction it up? In doing so, wouldn't that let me create BT instead of consuming it to complete the operation? Personally, I'd love me some BT watermills. Watermills are rather silly in MC given the nature of source-blocks.

maybe windmills then? they work better at higher alts and in storms.

It's quite impossible to suck a column of water more than 10m high; a column of water that high exerts a pressure of approximately 1 atmosphere at the bottom of it, so sucking it that high would require a high vacuum pump.

On Earth it is impossible. Punching a tree* down is also impossible on Earth.
In Minecraft there is no evidence that suggests atmospheric pressure operates similar to Earth.
Nothing prevents me from adding a source block 50+ meters above the lake I'm drawing from to functionally bring the surface level of the lake to be far, far above the pump.
There is a difference between asking for a mod to update, and asking IF it will update. It's a totally valid question, since 1.2.4 was skipped. Cool that trigger finger. Also, was that post deleted? I couldn't seem to find it to quote...
Sure, it would be a legitimate question had it not already been answered ~15 hours earlier by Eloraam herself. I mentioned that it had been recently answered in my reply but you omitted that from your quote.
Here's the original question (note the timestamp):

Hey Elo, are you updating to 1.2.5? Not nagging but you didn't to 1.2.4 so i was just wondering?
Pretty sure I'm skipping straight to 1.2.5. That way I can spend my time on implementing cool, new, secret features, rather than on just mindlessly porting the same stuff over and over. It appears that blocks are getting lost because they're still being moved by the piston when the Breaker fires. There's probably a bug around involving breaking a piston extension block.
So no, I'm not going to cool my trigger finger when addressing spammy questions that were already answered just a short time before.
And now for something completely different...
Here's some useful information on how I found Eloraam's pre-answer:

Eloraam i love your work, love your mod(s) and everything you do to support the minecraft community. I am really glad you created redpower for us all to enjoy. Thank you for your continued effort and community interativeness you've demonstrated to me and everyone else that follows your work. You are one of the few and far between shiny marbles in a box of dual ones.
Thank you,
The Enlightened
Also I am going to start updating my signature weekly, incase anyone is interested interested in the music that stuck in my head.
Now we've got liquid transfer pipes to look forward to? The list just keeps getting bigger! Now I must know how they work! Will they use a pressure system? Will gravity have an effect on them? Will they simply be bidirectional item transfer pipes like Buildcraft's? What happens when you break a pipe with a liquid inside? Ooh the questions...
They use pressure, yes. Gravity does not have an effect at the moment, although I may investigate it. They only move liquids, not items (use tubes for items). If a pipe is full of liquid, and you break it, if there's sufficient liquid inside of a type that has an associated block, then it will spill on the ground (when it's implemented, which it is not yet).
One direction only as far as i can see. Eloraam has also set it up like how pumps are supposed to be placed and that is IN the pipeline instead of at the beginning (it even makes me think of a centrifugal pump with motor, though, a bit more square like).
Pumps are monodirectional but the pipes, and the grates, are fully bidirectional. You can use the same grate to fill or empty a cistern, for example, but you will need two pumps.
Very cool Eloraam. Looking forward to the new goodies. (Long time lurker / RP2 user). Thank you sincerely for all the work you've done to the betterment of minecraft.
I haven't done this for a while, so i guess i will do it now.

Thank you. I can't express how much it means to me, or how it helps me remember why I keep working on this, and releasing the new things, to hear this from people who've been using RedPower for a long time.
All the Elo-bashing lately has been really disheartening, and sometimes it's been hard in the face of that to find the energy to keep writing RP. It's a labor of love, something I do for the joy of building cool machines and for the people who share that sentiment with me.
OMG redpower rubber trees can be grown from a sappling. Sadly i do not know the absolute conditions yet but i finnaly got one to grow.
If anyone follows my redpower2 series and notice on my minimap i had section with a sappling, it finally grew.
I've been trying to grow my own on various maps since i started with the mod. Sorry to be so giddy but its just one of those things. (Yes, i know there is a way for me to find exactly the conditions for it to take. That way can be considered unethical and is actually less fun)
(also OT but why does Youtube try an get me to put ads on my videos, I'm still a little painfull to watch, I want to make myself painless to watch, which is why i'm doing this. But i'm not a sadist I don't want to put people through ads just so they can be agonized by my videos. really youtube wait till i have 100 subscribers or 2k views before you remind me evertime i upload a video, then i may consider it.)
The idea of an igniter is no where near original, its been around for a while. This modder you speak up litterally just picked it up and claimed it at theirs. The item was and probably still is considered a staple of that particular mod. Just because you've done the same is no reason for you to be shamefully acted upon. In the end who has the mod that compatible with everything, doesn't eat 40 million sprites, and 40 million block ids. Oh yeah that's right, that's you.
In the end of it all its content vs content w/ versatility. That scale is no where near balanced, and your on the "right" side of the scale, the better side, the more freely open side. Besides when you look through the pages of both threads you notice drastic and extensive differences - one of constant trolling, and reverse trollinig - and one of a community people who help each other, the ones who know no better, and have fun and chit chat. I will leave it up to you to decide which is which.
If you want to play that particular mod you have to give up everything, everything that uses the imperial API that enables so many modders to create such amazing mods without the need to worry about compatibility. You end up with the bare essentials and nothing else. Why give up so much just for that mod?
I don't quite understand why we even focus on negativity, sometimes its required, sometimes its not. The internet is one of those places in the universe that we don't need to pay attention to negativity, let's all be happy . With that said, anyone who respectively and constructively criticizes [a mod] should not be chastised, or ignored.
We all love your work, your designs, your implementations, everything you do, it just makes the game actually fun and well beyond. Please do what you wish with it, ignoring the idiots and other places.
It doesn't work on 1.2.4. What makes you think it will work for 1.2.5? EDIT: damn ninjas stealing my cake
I didn't ask about 1.2.5, i am using 1.2.4, and it doesn't work, so I was just confirming it, because I had a few problems with modloader so I thought it was just my client acting up.
This mod is a gateway mod! As a lover of redstone, I couldn't resist trying out RP2 and it's everything I could ever want and more! But now I want to run 20 different mods because they all offer cool things! lol But, RedPower seems to be by far the best when comparing single player to SMP functionality.
The only issues I've run into is using EE2 or IC2 tools to break tubes, it takes FOREVER. Also, when breaking a tube that shares a block with a microblock, the tube drops and isn't shown, but the game treats that block as if a tube were still there.
These are only minor annoyances though, keep up the great work Eloraam. Hopefully I can be half to programmer you are one day.
To return back on redpower, someone told me that the deployer upgrade is a deployer capable of interacting with bundles cables, right?
I couldn't possibly comment on that.
Also on RP5 there will be quite loads of features (Frames, control, neo-logic, generators). Do you plan to do a big relase, or to split them in smaller ones?
I think some will come in pr5, some will come in releases before then. Magtubes weren't supposed to make it in, but they did.
Aw.....my nice long and respectfull post to Elo in response to hers to me was removed..../sadface.
Oh well, 3rd sunup without sleep thanks to work gonna sleep, good luck with your mod for it is a nice one, I will just cease to use it for now for some personal reasons, I will be watching though, peace out.
Releases before pr5? 4F? I thought that Frames have already done (
I'm sortof torn on the Frames issue. I've got a pile of new rendering code to write to make them work in all cases (half of which belongs to other blocks and not the frames themselves), and half of that needs to find its way into an API. Plus there's a pile of little interactions with various RP blocks that aren't done yet. Finishing all that is going to take a long time.
... But they work. With block crating turned on for all blocks, instead of just unsupported ones, they work in all cases. I'm just not sure if I'm comfortable releasing something that incomplete.

Yes, after the initial break, the pipe will seal.

spoiler tags? ok. I have common sense, just asking to confirm that it's the mod that needs to be updated, not my client acting up.

I don't really know.
I reckon hold off until you are happy to release them.
