I seem to be getting some graphical glitches involving the grass; every now and then, at night, or in an oddly shadowed area it'll sometimes turn a large plot of grass black. It works fine when I play it vanilla though. :s
edit: i think the problem has to do with the texture packs i'm trying to use?
Got a video? Need help? Have a suggestion for a new mod to include?
We'd love to hear about it here in the forum.
Good luck everyone.
Arrrg
Since you were using the Forestry mod, and it's not updated, why not use the Timber mod? It's 1.5.1 and apparently has 1 block ID clash...can that be fixed? Like I said, I'm not sure what effect this ID conflict has, but I can still chop down whole trees...

Yes. AMCO uses a custom colorizer I wrote myself.
You'll have to take the GrassColors.png file from AMCO's misc folder and plunk it into your texturepack.
Thought I had fixed that. Will look into it again next revision.

Meh. 'Timber' kinda breaks the game balance in my opinion.
People are welcome to install it themselves as you have though.
"Axe of the Stream" from 'ThaumCraft' is a better option that does not kill game balance.
'ThaumCraft' will be included again as soon as it is updated.
I'll also be checking into 'Forestry'
Edit: Anyone got a link to 'Forestry' for 1.5.1?
Death Chest, too. I'm assuming it's not in there (haven't checked the mod list) as the chest in my inventory's not working.
I've been trying to get 'Death Chest' to work since Revsion 1.
No luck yet. Here is another option though:
Open the MiniMap menu and turn on the Death Waypoint.
Won't auto save your stuff (but it won't disapear untill you are near it for 5 min anyway), but shows where you droped everything.
I am stuck on the screen where it says 'Done Loading' w/ the green progress bar and 'Updating Minecraft' above it. It comes up right before the MOJANG splash screen before the main MC menu. I didn't download an update, this is just what is happening when I launch MC w/ AMCO installed for the 1st time. Help please, Arrrg?
TechGod,
It is very difficult to guess what is wrong for you without an error report.
If the process on the forum's front page does not work for getting one, because you crash so early in startup, perhaps you can copy-past the contents of your "ForgeModLoader-client-0.log" file found in your .minecraft folder.
Remember to use enclose it in "spoiler" "/spoiler" so all that code doesn't clutter up the forum.
Replace the quotes with brackets [ and ] so it showes up in the forum as:
paste your error report in here
Cmcmmcmc and others with Null Pointer Errors,
I haven't forgotten about you, just can't reproduce on my sustem yet.
Still investigating though.
Kayvdlans,
Thanks for that link to 'Forestry', I'll check it out.
All,
Sending in links with your mod suggestoins really helps me out.
It speeds up the process, and increases the chances the mod you're suggesting will be included.
News:
'Lanterns' and 'Biblography' are great mods and seem to be compatable with AMCO.
I am contacting the mod authors for permission to include in next update.
AMCO already includes 32x32 textures by Wreckage all the new for gem blocks and colored glass.
I'll also be working on getting more 32x32 textures together for all the new tools and armor 'Gems Plus' adds to the game.
We'll also probably get some more server debug in this weekend too.
Sharkboy and others stuck with Null Pointers,
I need to hear back from you weather you've tried disabeling 'Better Dungeons' or not.
I'll also try playing around in some superflat worlds and other things I can think of that might make Null Pointer errors.
Removing Better Dungeons fixed both the random Null Pointer crash and the freeze during world generation for me.
Also, there's an item id conflict between Pam's HC Peanuts and the records from the Portal Gun mod. I fixed it by changing item{ids{I:recordIdIndex}} to 31060 in ~/.minecraft/config/PortalGun.cfg
The Barrels Mod works well with this mod pack, but you'll need to change block{I:Barrel} in ~/.minecraft/config/barrels.cfg to 4087 to get it to work. Run minecraft once to get the config file. You'll crash, but the file will be generated. I didn't really want to try Factorization because of the number of blocks and items it adds, and it kinda clashes with the general medieval fantasy theme of AMCO as it stands now since there are no other tech mods in there yet.
TreeCapitator also works, but the minions seem to get a bit confused if the tree they're chopping suddenly disappears.
NEI works. OptiFine causes the GUI to be far less responsive and lowers the frame rate, probably because it's clashing with the MCPatcher mods.
There's a missing texture in TOK2 for the sell thingy at the blacksmith. You can see it in ThePacerGamer's video.
I'm using AMCO revision 2 for Minecraft 1.5.1.
Great job! This couldn't have been easy to put together.
Edit:
The Millenaire Quest List key is M by default, which conflicts with the Minions mod.
I added the following to ~/.minecraft/mods/millenaire-custom/config-custom.txt to change it to J and make sure the villagers speak English instead of French:

I kinda like RikMuld's Camping Mod, and it would fit well with this modpack, but it's a bit buggy. Every so often, the mobs will all freeze, chunks will stop loading and I'll be unable to mine. Kinda looks like the server crashes, but the client just keeps on going.
It adds campfires, backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, radishes (fast growing, grows on untilled ground, can be eaten quickly, but only heals 1 heart), and campers who you can trade with and spawn in camps. Camps seem to pop up randomly, even in generated chunks.
Cmcmmcmc and others with Null Pointer Errors,
I haven't forgotten about you, just can't reproduce on my sustem yet.
Still investigating though.
I will add that the game does not crash with me. In my log though I see all the same errors as Sharkboy, but my game runs. With such a large list of errors you would imagine problems would crop up though eventually.
TheGamerPacer,
I really liked your video, and will post it on the front page next update (in a few days).
If you start a series I'l also like to include links to it.
Any chance of getting a 2-3 minute verson of you flying through "Cliffs of Insanity"?
I feel that would give people an intense tip-of-the-iceberg preview wich would make folks want to watch the rest of your series.
Extore,
'Applied Energies' is awesome, and has an open licende. I will include it next update.
The author of 'Weapons Mod' does not grant permision to include, so it will not be in next update.
I will contact JSOne Stuidios about geting permission for 'Campfire Mod'.
Backpacks are already in AMCO by the way.
What I'd really like to see is a way to craft the fire block.
There is a bug in the game since the Alpha days that allows you to craft chainmail from the fire block.
I modify the chainmail textures to look like fire, which looks like my avatar's picture.
Yorple,
Thanks a lot for the detailed post.
Bug reports (with fixes) like that realy help me out.
The items you mention will be fixed next revision.
I wouldn't mind some tech mods in the pack, it's just that hardly any have been updated yet.

Awesome, thanks for looking at them Fingers crossed for permissions.....
I've been trying to get 'Death Chest' to work since Revsion 1.
No luck yet.
You could try DerBAM's Grave mod. Looks like it gives you a suicidal way to farm quartz, flowerpots and chests.
Works with forge and uses a double chest, so it should be able to catch everything.
I absolutely love this mod pack I just have one serious problem, even when I'm playing on single player I get lag as if I was playing on multiplayer? if you don't know what I mean, I'll destroy like 3 blocks and a second later they all come back and roll back my work. It's really frustrating, and I was wondering if you (or anyone) know how to fix this? I got one world to not do it for about an hour so I don't see why all the others I've tried creating do it? Please help. As you can tell I made this account simply to figure out this problem so any help will be much appreciated,
Thanks in advance
EDIT: About 5 minutes after I originally posted I got this popping up in my chat "BlockName [tile.log], Block ID [17], metadata [0]" Could that possibly have anything to do with it?

Some stuff that might help:
Get Stackie (search for it on the forums). Kill all the chickens. Make sure you don't have any items laying around. If you install NEI, you can use the magnetism feature to collect items automatically to keep things clear. My chicken farm was the main source of lag for me. Whenever I moved close enough for NEI to suck up the eggs, the frame rate quadrupled and the game got much more responsive. I'll be building a new farm using hoppers so there won't be any loose eggs. Wild chickens can be just as bad though, especially in plains biome. If I can actually find the symbols, I'll probably put my farms in a separate Mystcraft age. Need a chunk loader though...
Millenaire can significantly increase the number of loaded chunks, which makes more work for the server. Disable it if you need to. Assigning large jobs to Minions in the Nether may cause some extreme lag (I think, not sure that's what did it.)
Adjust your video settings. Make sure it's set to fast, not fancy. Use the default texture pack, not the 32x one included with AMCO. Advanced OpenGL seems to slow things down. Adjust your render distance. Turn off smooth lighting. Make sure you DO NOT have Optifine installed since it tries to do the same things as the MC Patcher mods used in AMCO.
EDIT: About 5 minutes after I originally posted I got this popping up in my chat "BlockName [tile.log], Block ID [17], metadata [0]" Could that possibly have anything to do with it?
That's debug text from one of the mods. Seems harmless...
TreeCapitator also works, but the minions seem to get a bit confused if the tree they're chopping suddenly disappears.
Here's a config file to add support for the additional trees and axes found in AMCO (Natura trees, GemsPlus axes, etc): http://pastebin.com/nFMtF18F
Put that in ~/.minecraft/config/TreeCapitator.cfg

Meh. 'Timber' kinda breaks the game balance in my opinion.
By default, TreeCapitator damages your axe for each log chopped and will not continue chopping logs once your axe is destroyed. There's also a maximum radius, so you can't just make some uber-unbreakable axe and chop down a redwood.
This mod pretty much just saves you some time and a lot of climbing.
Make sure you DO NOT have Optifine installed since it tries to do the same things as the MC Patcher mods used in AMCO.
I was having this problem big time for a while. Then I actually DID install Optifine and it helps a ton. I'll have occasional bouts of the lag, but they only last maybe a few minutes at most. And the happen rarely.

I've tried to searching for this, but couldn't find it anywhere.
Is AMCO SMP compatible?? If it is, I couldn't find a guide to install it anywhere.
I tried installing it the same way we install SSP, but didn't work (errors during load of some mods).
