but I find it odd that you would completely brush off and refuse to consider the viewpoint of a stranger on the internet
Ummmm...that's odd to you? Perhaps you think it more appropriate if I brush off the opinions of close friends and family instead of random strangers?
I don't know you from Adam and you decided to launch into a preachy rant about tolerance of alternate views for no apparent reason and completely out of left field.
As I said...no thank you. Whatever you're selling, I don't want any.
For some really annoying inexplicable reason, Wolves teleport to me even when sitting.
It happens very rarely, and i have no idea what causes it. It happened twice before, with individual wolves, but now all my wolves (about 10) teleported to me from their dungfarms. I have no clue what caused it, all i know is i'm having lag from a hundred chicken dancing in water waiting to be killed. I was placing cement, there was a huge lagspike and then all wolves were behind me.

EDIT: all wolves teleported sitting.
You are refering to a bug in vanilla. It by now should be in the works to be fixed, but 1.3 will be some time I think.
I have no clue what kind of bug it is. a cat and a wolf just teleported to me after the incident, and it's driving me absolutely NUTS. plus, a cow teleported to me.

Please refer to my prior post, as this bug is in no way associated with BTW.
Why does it happen? Probably due to chunks unloading and then reloading (visual flashes I still get) and pets losing state temporarily enough to teleport but then "remembering" they were sitting. Or that is my guess in any case.

extremely unlikely. they were all well within my loaded area, all within my base.
Hey guys, I am in need of a little assistance or I need to go back to kindergarden. I have made a nice semi-automatic wheat farm, using planters and pistons to flood the farm and collect the drops in a hopper. Problem is, I have 20 planters, but only collect 18 wheat. I've done this several times now... help?

This IS a bug in vanilla minecraft. It also happens often in multiplayer...in fact, even random untamed mobs can suddenly teleport to you. My sister has came back from mining trips when swarms of ocelots have come to her...I investigated a bit and its a proven problem with vanilla that will be fixed in 1.3 update.

Are you checking to see it any wheat gets "stuck" on the way down to the hopper?
thanks for the effort guys. I did some checking, and I think I've come to the conlusion that vertical water flow does not generate drops from the wheat. If you look in the picture above you will notice that my planters are tiered. on the bottom tier, the planter(on either side) nearest the top tier is hit by a vertical water flow. So I did this test: I hit(manually harvested) those 2 planters, then pulled the lever for the flood gate. waited till the drops were collected, and hit the lever again. When I checked the hopper, I had 20 wheat.
I agree with you, your not alone. You just can't expect everyone on the internet to represent themselves honestly. I suspect FC is so damn nice in real life he can't help but to role play a ***** on the net. Then again, I sent my donation and did my "nice on the internet" thing because I'm a ***** in real life.
I can understand if you want to hate on technic or redpower or some such, but I find it odd that you would completely brush off and refuse to consider the viewpoint of a stranger on the internet, someone who you would have no particular hatred for (though I did say something kind of obnoxious a few pages ago, sorry for that). I'm not saying "get buddy-buddy with your enemies", I'm pointing out that you could consider the viewpoint of others. People don't believe things because they are stupid (most of the time), they believe for a reason. 9/10ths of the people I meet have a completely different viewpoint than me, but they aren't crazy or dumb. Their view is different because they had a different background and life from me. The least I can do is to consider their perspective, not to "convert", to understand.
Of course, this entire post might be the nooby ramblings and the result of a huge miscommunication. Maybe you did consider my point, and came to the concusion that it wasn't worth your time to consider my point and the points of others. But I doubt that somehow.
Or maybe I just don't understand what you mean by "no thank you".
That last post probably didn't get me a lot of popularity, but whatever. Might as well keep going now.

If i recall correctly, when water falls on top of wheat, it destroys the drops rather then washing them out. So where the water falls down on those two planters on either end, their drops are getting destroyed.

See, the thing is: there's no flame-war going on right now. What we had was a message from one nice individual that said "I previously hadn't given BTW the time of day, and now that I have I think it's great". This was really nice, and I appreciated it a great deal.
Then we had someone that decided to take that as an opportunity to poke at a sensitive issue (or issues) with a stick in response to that and get on a soap-box preaching tolerance as a total non-sequitur.
It basically amounts to trolling. There is no real conflict at present, but that's exactly what that post was promoting despite the puerile peace and understanding package that it was wrapped in.
TLDR: If you want peace, then don't poke it with a stick.

It's annoying really...
It's fixed in the latest snapshot. Obviously not BTW compatible yet, but it's on it's way. I've too been annoyed by this at times so I'm glad Mojang has taken care of it.
Finally I've completely automated my soul urn production, from making the unfired pottery to filling the urns with souls. Now maybe I should get some more netherrack. Or some more redstone. Or maybe finish my enourmous house, since the two gigantic holes where more of the building should be have been letting an awful lot of mobs in, and since my bed is currently inside a small hole in the ground.
-Changed the way Gear Boxes power up and down so that powering down takes 1 tick (1/20th of a second) less time than powering up. In normal operation, this should make very little difference, but for the dirty bastards that were using exploits to create infinite power-loops, it means that these loops will slowly bleed off power until they are non-functional. However, I've provided an option in the mod config file to disable this setting as testing has revealed that it can break particularly complex existing builds. Please give it a try though and let me know what you think.
-Changed the way moving Anchors update to hopefully prevent associated Platforms in separate chunks from occasionally breaking off during chunk save/load.
-Changed the way Stoked Fire updates to be MUCH more reliable. It should not revert to regular fire now before a fixed time interval elapses. It may take a bit longer to provide a bit of visual variance, but it absolutely won't take less time, which means that Bellows being pumped on the third setting of the Turntable should now be 100% reliable.
-Fixed vanilla bug where scheduled block updates were getting dropped on chunk save/load. This was causing a number of issues like redstone clocks freezing under those circumstances, and Detector Blocks failing to notice rain for extended periods. These kinds of things should be MUCH more reliable now. This may not sound like it, but it's a REALLY big deal.
-Fixed problem with not being able to jump on Platforms when they were moving downwards.
-Fixed problem with items visually jerking about when dropped on moving Platforms.
-Fixed problem with the Block Dispenser placing regular minecarts when attempting to place chest or furnace carts.
-Fixed vanilla bug where pets riding in minecarts would constantly try to teleport to you, causing weird visual glitches.
While this is only a bug-fix release, it is a very special one it that it resolves *all* known issues with the mod, and fixes a few vanilla ones to boot!
Enjoy!

On that note, here's an example pic I posted on the forums a short while back, to give someone an idea how to wire a two-floor elevator simply.
Adding extra floors isn't particularly complicated either, but I'll always reccomend someone build a 2-floor elevator from scratch before trying to build someone else's design for something more complex.
I tried this just for the heck of it to see if it was a better alternative to the system I was using with a lens. It doesn't seem to work. The elevator does not return up when the bottom button is pressed... a small extra redstone system is required to fix it.
Also, nice update FC, thanks for squishing those annoying bugs.

He actually has history with things like Redpower and Forge.

Well, didn't Flowerchild modify teleport behaviour?
extremely unlikely. they were all well within my loaded area, all within my base.
That random stranger bit I said came out wrong...
But you've pretty clearly shown me you're not gonna "buy".
Who? Me or him? I was well aware that FC has experience with that.
