Sigh. I can only assume you're trolling, but in case you're not: Technic is an unauthorized mod-pack and they never had my permission to include my mod, nor do they have permission to include many of the mods that are still in there.
This has upset a LOT of different mod authors, and you'll notice that they can't even distribute that pack through these forums due to it violating the terms of use of the mods involved.
If you have any respect for the people providing you with free content, then don't use it, and certainly don't ask mod-authors for any help in using it.
The Yogscast promoting that pack was probably one of the shittiest moves they've pulled on mod-authors yet (amongst many).
Ah, my apologies, I knew nothing of this. I haven't really read up on much of this, so I decided to ask you. But I'd rather you not go making assumptions saying I'm trolling..And question: How'd they get their hands on your code? o.O I didn't think they could just download your mod and change the code n all, but then again, I'm not the most experienced person in this field.
1.He said in a few pages ago its like watching grass grow... and he wouldn't do it.
2.The Technic pack was an illegal piece of ****, and FC said he wouldn't allow his mod to be in a mod pack or give anyone his code and etc.. and he isn't planing to do so, and he is removing forge support so there is no way possible
Ah, my apologies, I knew nothing of this. I haven't really read up on much of this, so I decided to ask you. But I'd rather you not go making assumptions saying I'm trolling..
If anything, I assumed you weren't in responding to you.
There has been a lot of chaos surrounding this particular issue man, and I don't think it unreasonable of me to suspect the worst of you if you pop up and say "hi, I'm using an unauthorized mod pack!".

Well, seeing that I've made 14 posts, all on this thread about troubleshooting this mod....it doesn't seem reasonable for you to just assume the worst. I really don't see any reason in assuming the worst of anyone o.O
Once again, I'm sorry for not doing my research on this, but maybe you could've seen that all of my posts were on THIS thread, hinting that I really meant no disrespect to you in any way, and that I really wouldn't know much of these issues.
Really the only reason I downloaded the other pack is because I wanted something like yours, but yours wouldn't work for me, and nobody on this thread could solve the problem.
You know. I just don't understand why people are so intent on having an installer. It's actually very simple to add the required files into the .jar. I know someone's going to say something like, "I don't know how to add the files!" Anyone ever heard of google? As well, there are at least a half million videos on youtube on how to do it as well. I'm just sayin'...

On these forums, I think it's entirely reasonable.
And man, *assuming* I'd do a search on you before responding is a bit excessive. I answered your question, and I think I did so rather politely given the circumstances.
If you have a tech-support request, then post it along with an error log or your ModLoader.txt, and someone will probably help you out. Your user profile is only displaying the last 2 messages you posted here, so I have no idea what your request was.
Since your post is as good a time as any, I may as well take the opportunity to explain something here...
*SNIP*
Hmm... I'm not absolutely sure how to start this. I'm usually more of a "lurker", but I suppose I'll introduce where I'm coming from. I remember first seeing Better Than Wolves on these fora shortly after Beta 1.4 was released. I recall specifically finding the name amusing, but never really checked into it. I haven't ever been much into SSP mods, finding most of my enjoyment through multiplayer and server administration, but have recently become more and more impressed with what the Minecraft community has been able to create even without an official "API" (or source code, as it may be) being released.
I sifted through the Mods subforum as well as read and watched related material, including the aforementioned Yogscast video. I was consistently amazed how in-depth, yet very balanced you have made this mod, and how well it seemed to fit with the vanilla Minecraft atmosphere. Unfortunately, all of this occurred within the past few days, between the relatively short period of official release and mod compatibility, so now I'm eagerly awaiting the 1.0.0 update. Watching the insane assortment of contraptions and videos other users have made is sure keeping me entertained, though!
I suppose you're wondering what the point of this post is. I think what I'm really trying to say is that, despite the challenges popularity may bring, it's not entirely for the worse. That's not to say that I don't completely understand what you mean when you say that that's not why you created BTW - I not only understand, but strongly agree that it's a much better motivation to do something because you enjoy it. Still, despite the massive increase in inconsiderate comments and annoying requests that mass exposure brings, it also brings new users who share your dream for what Minecraft can be and will enjoy your mod for what it is and the work you put into it for a long while. I have to assume that you get some amount of joy out of that knowledge, otherwise you would have little reason to share your mod in the first place! :smile.gif:
All in all, I hope you can keep the positive side of that in mind when faced with the same question or request for the hundredth time, and try to focus instead on the fun that you know can be had from successfully developing such a huge project. Basically... keep up the great work! (Not that I need to tell you that!) :biggrin.gif:
1: hemp only grows under Lightblocks
2: hemp grows 2 high. you should only harvest the top block, as the lower block regenerates that block MUCH faster than just regrowing it from scratch
this means you need OVER 9000 light blocks to make large hemp farm, so it needs rebalancing(or request to X3n0 for EE - BTW compatibility addon), so
FlowerChild, PLEASE REBALANCE HEMP. Make it:
grow when light level is above 10 (not only with light blocks, because i know you soon make light blocks can be crafted only at Anvil or require diamonds), or when plant have direct access to the sky(through nonsolid and transparent blocks (e.g. ladder, glass))regardless is it daytime or nighttime. It must be your priority number one at this time.If you do not do this, all Hemp farming will be ruined.
PS:Make it also react to foul food(but not bonemeal)
PSS:ALL YOUR HEMP ARE BELONG TO US
PSSS:BOOM!!!

I'm not intent on having an installer, I only said it would make things much easier. I did make sure my minecraft version was correct, and put all of the files in the right places, I then tried using MCPatcher, all to no avail. It apparently has something to do with the Forge files, because that's always where I had the problem testing it.

you patched after adding the files into the jar? Doesn't that like, delete all the mod files? It does for me at least ^^;

Actually MCpatcher suggests that you use it after installing the mods, or use the built in installer that comes with MCpatcher... if you don't know what I mean, look it up on youtube. It will automatically patch the .jar with the mod files so you don't have to.

If I'm reading correctly, I think you got the wrong idea too. These were two different attempts, one being the adding files to the .jar, and the other being MCPatcher after re-downloading a clean minecraft.

Well, once again, I'm completely new to these forums, so I wouldn't see why you'd assume. And I never *assumed* you would do a search, I just said that it would have been better if you had. The basic idea I'm trying to get across is that there's things you could have done to prevent this whole misunderstanding in the first place, and I'm not the only one who did wrong here.
Once again, I don't know as much about this conflict as you, and see you feel pretty strongly about it, but there really aren't any "circumstances" with a completely new person. I don't think it's too excessive for you to see that I'm practically brand new to this forum (the information right next to my post states it, but you know that already).
But really, this was all just a simple misunderstanding, and I'd rather not have this develop into something more than that. I'll be sure to try out your suggestions. And by the way, great job on the mod :smile.gif:
Not to aggravate the situation more, but are you ever thinking of merging or having your mod in some sort of pack? I'm really not trolling, I'm just curious, because in my opinion, it seems to be a great idea, however; whoever made that mod pack went about it COMPLETELY wrong. But your opinions and views and very different from mine, as was displaid, so I'm sort of guessing the answer will be a solid "no" :tongue.gif: Buuuut it can't hurt to ask I guess, I just really hope you don't think I'm trying to pull some other troll move on you xD
Oh! and my request was regarding MCPatcher and Forge, as you can see in my other recent posts. It just didn't seem to want to work for me, but I see Forge will fade out very soon, so it's not much of a big deal.
Well, I didn't exactly get there..I was adding the ModLoader, which worked fine, and then got stuck at trying to put in Forge. So I never really got to putting the mod in, but I only tried MCPatcher because it was suggested to me when I asked for help.
...it also brings new users who share your dream for what Minecraft can be and will enjoy your mod for what it is and the work you put into it for a long while. I have to assume that you get some amount of joy out of that knowledge, otherwise you would have little reason to share your mod in the first place! :smile.gif:
Oh, absolutely man! I'm ecstatic each time an intelligent and considerate person joins the community, and always have been.
It's the ratio that gets all out of whack with popularity.
Regardless, glad you found the mod and I hope you get much enjoyment out of it :smile.gif:

Oi vey. Get over it man. There's no serious misunderstanding going on here. Your first post sounded trollish, I said as much, but answered anyways. In most cases I would have just ignored you to begin with (which I am now beginning to regret), but you got what you wanted
Leprechauns are frolicking, bunnies are hopping, and birds are singing. Everyone is happy. Rejoice!

Did you bother to read the whole post? Because I did ask questions..and the thing is, I'm only trying to tell you that there was really no reason to make assumptions. The only reason I had to reiterate it multiple times is because you didn't seem to understand; I am in no way complaining, so there's no need to "get over" anything.
And if it was such a small misunderstanding, then why did I need to say something multiple times to attempt to get the point across? That's a misunderstanding in my book, and I never said it was really serious at all, so I actually don't see where you're getting that from. But if it wasn't really a misunderstanding, then the only other reason I'd have to reiterate what I said so many times is you were ignoring parts of what I said.
And now you're just being flat-out disrespectful, which is what I was trying to avoid, because I have so much respect for you and how you've put together this mod. However, this respect is beginning to quickly deplete, I guess I held my standards a little to high..

I'm going back to my original assumption now. My apologies for temporarily doubting it.
So you're going back to your original assumption because YOU insulted ME? I don't see the logic in that..
No, I'm returning to my original assumption because you're overly intent on blowing small things way out of proportion, which is pretty typical trolling behavior.
