Hello, was just wondering if donation support for optifine is down. Donated for a cape but made an error in the name and tried contacting support but no reply. I think this was 4 days ago.
I really honestly think that, because OptiFine is used by so many people (just about everyone actually that have heard of it), it should just be implemented in the game... why not? Would make everyone's lives so much easier...
You and me both, man. This, and so many other mods simply deserve to be in vanilla. (Disclaimer: Not flaming anyone!) For those who say that Optifine causes bugs in other mods (and rightfully so!), my response is that with Optifine, and other mods, in vanilla, other mod makers would be forced to comply, similar to when the ability to change player eye height was implemented into Forge, allowing potential bugs between Morph (by iChun) and mods like Mine and Blade: Battlegear 2 to avoided, albeit at the cost of momentary Forge-incompatibility for Battlegear and its kin. If you feel like listening to me go on and on about more mods that should be in vanilla (and who wouldn't?) check out my signature. And yes, I know, I'm a shameless advertiser.
First Mod Coder Pack has to be updated. Then, Forge is updated. Then most mods are updated. MCP still hasn't updated. Seeing Mojang has claimed to change over half a million lines of code, it is going to take a while for mods to update.
Thanks for the update! I'm playing with MC 1.7.2 and get about 20 FPS. I'm liking the improved performance without OptiFine. I'll be expecting a much better result when it comes. I just wanted to see how things are going. I hope spx was able to get this mod updated to the point where it won't take much time when MCP & Forge comes out.

I'm really hoping for an update to Optifine before 1.7.2, specifically one that fixes the incompatibility with Tinker's Construct 1.5 and above. I'm stuck using a 1.4 version of TC for my server because Optifine crashes the game when rendering TC items and I can't really give up Optifine OR TC
Anyway, thanks for the totally awesome mod! Hope you guys figure out the issue!

Yes, this. That was the only option I had to toggle in Optifine in order to be able to play the game. I would download Optifine solely for this option.

No offence man, but thats got to be a bad computer. I just dug out my old 2007 computer with a Pentium 4 processer and 256mb Dell Ram (Yea, thats a horribly computer. Its that bad) and downloaded Minecraft. Without Optifine, I got 25 FPS, and barely went below 2 FPS. Try turning Vsync off, it helps. If you need a new computer, I suggest you look at IBuyPower or Newegg, if you want to build it yourself. You have not idea how much power you can buy for about $600. For starters, get an AMD Athelon, its i5 power for $85.
Crashing shouldnt happen, and if you crash with a longer save time, you end up loosing alot and possibly world (and .jar) corruption.
Whats the best settings for this type of comp?

Am I missing something, as the texture appears (in game) as a confusing, smashed, texture. As if Minecraft is using my entire animated texture file as a single texture to be applied to the block.
Please make Optifine compatible with the latest 1.6.4 version of forge before you start work on 1.7.2 ..
So we can enjoy a working final 1.6.4 while you work on 1.7.2 ..
Thanks
i was using optifine with forge in 1.6.4 sooooo i'm guessing it is compatible. quite a workaround tho. look in youtube for instructions, thats how i had it running.

I was not saying about my computer.
I don't need Optifine for better fps, because i have 150fps with good graphics, I used optifine for other things like connected texture, no bugs in 32x32/64x64/etc textures (in 1.5/1.4/1.3/1.2.5), no FOG, MipMap......
Optifine is not only for good fps, but for good configs too..
And, FPS DROP happens with any computer (but thats rare for good pcs)
To fix you just need to close minecraft.

I've placed the entire post in a spoiler because it's extremely big (3 crash reports and more "stuff")
Removed the old spoiler; put in a new one. It's obviously not an incompatible Forge build making it crash.
I started the game with Optifine, and it worked. The game crashed while I was building on a creative server... because "it couldn't render a pig", even though mobs are disabled there. I did nothing on magic launcher other than immediately restart the game. After the Mojang logo disappeared...
BOOM! There it went. Second Optifine crash of the day. -.-

I apologize for the crappy asci drawing I would show an in game picture, but I have difficulty using spoilers to hide the pic.
BTW: I am still using 1.6.2 since the mods that I like using didn't update to 1.6.4 until after 1.7.2 got released through the loader.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
