Um, your mods are 1.6.4 but your Minecraft and forge is still 1.6.2. (You're not using forge 916) Might have been a simple mistake of not changing the version in the forge profile in the official launcher. Thanks for the spoilers by the way. If you don't understand tell me and I'll help.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but it says I'm using release 1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.916 in the profile and above the "Log out" button.

TO EVERYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH OPTIFINE CRASHING
If you give Minecraft more RAM to load up, It will let you get into your Single Player Worlds! The bug that most people are getting is that some error in Optifine is making Minecraft use more and crash it.
Dear sp614x,
Could you add compatibility for the GSLS Shaders mod? The way this mod loads is affecting GSLS Shaders and thus does not allow it to run. I want to use this mod with GSLS Shaders as I am a donator and want to use my cape with the shaders.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but it says I'm using release 1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.916 in the profile and above the "Log out" button.
Well if you look at your crash under the 'system details' it clearly says you are using MC 1.6.2 and forge 789. Just because you 'named' your profile '1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.916' doesn't mean you are running it. I would 'edit profile' and use proper versions.

I could be completely wrong here, but I think this can't be done based on something sp614x said. I think it has something to do with obfuscated classes. If memory recalls OptiFine has to be loaded before the deobfuscation starts so it can use the obfuscated classes. But GLSL or whatever shaders doesn't allow it to do this. Again, I could be completely wrong, forgive me if I am.
This is with FML 916, optifine C5, and railcraft 8.1.0.0. Over on the RC forum, they simply say to remove optifine. I just want to make sure there's nothing that can be done at this point.I would just like to add that optifine works fine up until you try to finish a railcraft building, like the blast furnace, coke furnace, iron tank, etc. I'm not sure how it reacts when you put other railcraft specific items down. If I attempt to load a world that has them built already, the game just quits with the error above in the crash log.

FINALLY! Compatibility of Optifine is back with Forge again! Forge and Optifine are friends again! Yaaaay! and they lived happily ever after! Its like a dream... (For me)
- Use the official launcher to download and start once Minecraft 1.6.2.
- Start Magic Launcher
- Click "Setup"
- Select Environment "1.6.2"
- Click "Add" -> select the OptiFine ZIP file
- Click "OK"
- Login and play
uh, but the downloads give me a .jar file and when I try to use that the game just crashes upon entering a world.
Who should we be communicating to about the issue between railcraft and optifine in 1.6.4 as it pertains to this error: http://pastebin.com/nbKdbrY4
This is with FML 916, optifine C5, and railcraft 8.1.0.0. Over on the RC forum, they simply say to remove optifine. I just want to make sure there's nothing that can be done at this point.
...
This error and all other "java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access field" errors are caused by OptiFine overwriting changes done at load time by other mods because Forge is loading the mods in the wrong order. OptiFine should always be first in the list of core mods, but Forge loads the mods in a random order and it may be pure luck if MC will crash or not.
I am working with cpw to extend Forge to allow ordering of the core mods, but it is still not finished. You can bug him a little so that it gets released sooner.
The latest version of Optifine for Minecraft 1.6.4 breaks Railcraft. I and countless others always use Railcraft, so this is a serious problem that should be fixed. Information:
Upon loading any world, minecraft crashes due to something network-related that Optifine removed, which Railcraft uses.
Optifine removed a function that is the very core of my entire network framework.
Due to the nature of this issue, it looks a lot like it is Railcraft that is the cause - but no, it is Optifine, because Optifine makes the change that breaks Railcraft.
I do wish you good luck fixing the issue. Without Optifine, Minecraft has very bad performance on my computer, and on many others' computers. Without it, no modpack is complete.
EDIT: Just saw the above reply, I'll try that later.
What you can do is:
Drag the content from the optifine.jar to /versions/1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.xxx/1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.xxx.jar and delete metainf. Add this to JVM arguments:
-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
This forces forge to run optifine as a "coremod" and load all the other stuff from /mods/ afterwards. Thats how I fixed my shader, optifine crashing
This works perfectly. I cannot believe I didn't think of this. Thanks for telling us.

Getting this error http://pastebin.com/9B0FjUvd after installing optifine to forge 1.5.2 (with the newer version of installing after minecraft updated to 1.6.2). Only mods I'm using is optifine (OptiFine_1.5.2_HD_U_D5) with forge (1.5.2-Forge7.8.1.738). And yes I did drag and drop optifine files to the forge jar in the forge folder version 1.5.2-Forge7.8.1.738.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but it says I'm using release 1.6.4-Forge9.11.1.916 in the profile and above the "Log out" button.

Edit: Of course, right after I post this, Optifine works. I don't like feeling trolled (by Forge), but I'll take it...
I think it started working because I updated Forge to the latest version.

heres the pictures that happen with optifine C5 for v1.6.4
But apparently lots of people use Optifine with GSLS Shaders (Here's the URL: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1544257-164162shaders-mod-v201-beta-18-updated-by-karyonix/). So you're (no offense) wrong...
that's what I do and when I select it in MagicLauncher the game crashes upon entering a world.
