This mod is a minecraft life saver! i used to have to play on render distance short and everything else off / on its lowest setting, now i can play on far render distance and a few other settings up all the way and on fancy. love this mod!! ;D
Are you going to add animated texture support? For all blocks like Mc patcher does?
Animated terrain and items textures are on the way.
I am also experimenting with randomobs, but a proper implementation may need more classes to be changed or I have to find a very clever way to do it.
I can't drag/drop or copy/paste the .class files (as in the contents of the zipped file) into the opened .exe file. I opened it with 7zip. It seems all the files in the .exe file are already .class files. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. It tells me I last modified them 11/14/2011 but I've deleted the .exe file like 10 times.
I remember I downloaded this mod a LONG time ago, but it didn't work, and I have since deleted my entire .minecraft folder. I use windows vista 32 bit, I set nvidia to recognize java as a game, I run minecraft on normal view, max fps, no bobbing. I use a 64x64 texture pack, but when I take it off, it still runs the same (9fps average).
I found something interesting though. When I turn advanced openGL on, my fps goes down. When I turn it off, however, my fps jumps to 20, but slowly goes back down to 9 in a 1 minute timespan. Also, the fps directly correlated to the amount of chuncks loading. 20 fps=20 chunks loading.
Sorry if this turned into a "help me" post but can you blame me? Ever since infdev my fps has been dropping :sad.gif:

Why you didn't plan like patcher or something?

Too addicted with Counter-Strike: Source for some reason...
I just put in the smooth version. Thank you for giving me back my MineCraft. Even better then I had it in 1.8 D:. I can now even play in normal view with minimal lag that I can barely even notice it if at all. I can even use far now :biggrin.gif:
This really helps in large cities (5) with thousands of blocks. I can place blocks and build in them again :DDDDDDD
Listen, great mod, I've been using it for as long as it's been out, but since I've always used Faithful 32x as my texture pack, I've been having some problems. Specifically, this:
Go to the faithful32 page, there is a fix for that font error. You just need a new version of the font default.png
Thank for this information, I didn't see that someone was working on something similary since the mod 'Smith_61 Mods: Minecraft Extended'.
But he will probably have the same problem as me: Most of the actual mod will not be compatible because they use 256 instead of Block.blocksList.length in their code.
Well, I know his patch for 4096 block IDs worked with Cubic Chunks, which works with Forge. Possibly an error with OptiFine, would need to check though. Might be something you could all collaborate on :smile.gif:
If you have problems with flashing or transparent blocks you can try:
A. Disable "Threaded Optimization" in the graphics control panel
B. Enable "Vertical Synchronization" in the graphics control panel or set the option Performance to VSync.
i don't see an option for threaded optimization...or vsync anywhere :/
edit: oh you meant in the nvidia control panel...
derp.jpg
doubleplusedit: well...that didn't help, i'm using the OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_MT_B2 version btw...
anyhow, the render distance keeps defaulting to far when i quit a level or switch servers/etc. also, cannot turn mipmapping off, it defaults to 1 as soon as i back out of the settings...
also, the bad flashing and invisible blocks issue only occurs when render distance is set to anything but far...
so i dunno...
i'mma go back to one of the other versions...

alright so i upgraded my system (from a hp g62 144dx laptop)
i5 2005k-4ghz
dual sli 590 classified (overkill i know)
16gb ram
120gb sdd
2x 1tb hdd
yet with stock minecraft i manage to get 100 fps... (nothing to complain about...except that i record with fraps and i get way less than that)
with multi thread i get 700 or so but i get flashing constantly...yes i have done the following:
1. multithread support =off
2.vsync = on
3.even rand on a single card (roughly 100fps drop)
still flashing, for now i will use normal optifine because smooth doesnt really help out..
do i need this? nope but it makes the game look much better and easier to record.
Hey guys, is OptiFine 1.8.1_HD_AA_D2 actually working for anyone else? On a fresh Minecraft install it seems to only create a black screen immediately after the login screen. No main menu, no image, just an empty black window. Is there some sort of prerequisite I need? Or is this supposed to be working? OptiFine 1.0.0_HD_B2 works just fine, but AA / AF sounded like a nice improvement.
1.8.1 =/= 1.0.0
fail on you for not having simple comprehension of numbers
1.8.1 will not work on 1.0.0 because it was not made for it
Oh, didn't realize that wasn't a version number for the mod. They should really separate the Minecraft versions in the mod name somehow, brackets or put them first or something. I can't even begin to explain how confusing that was for someone who was new to the mod and Minecraft modding in general. When something is formatted: "Name / some version number / some information" it tends to stand to reason 1.8.1 was something specific to Optifine.
Still, utter confusion aside, is there any plan to get this one working for the newest version of Minecraft? AA and AF are actually two things Minecraft desperately needs.
OMG I LOVE U DUDE optifine is the best man. i always used the mc patcher and it was always screwing my bin around and a bit laggy and now thx to optifine my bin is not being updated every patch AND im able to use 128x128 texture pack with little lag
Minecraft does get stuck sometimes for like 1/4 second. Sometimes when moving the sound starts to stutter.
This happens when I am in the same area - not moving and causing much loading to happen.
If you teleport, I noticed that Minecraft stops being responsive until it loads the area around you for some reason. Trying to type when Minecraft hasn't loaded any blocks around you (because of gate / teleport) laggs like hell.
I was modding around, i went to add the nethercraft mod with inficraft aready in and the icons for inficraft were the vanilla items were showing up as the inficraft items, i then installed the 4096 id block mod and now my nethercraft icons are showing up as the vanilla items, any idea on what i should do?
I dont think the multi core one works even though i have 5 cores on my laptop
The multi-threaded edition works perfect--not just for me but also for many others.
If you're going to make such a claim, you need to elaborate a lot more. For starters, you'd have to explain exactly why you "think" it "doesn't work" or if you don't believe you're getting the "performance" you should be getting from it. You would also need to list your computer specifications since it's NOT only about the processor. Also, you'd need to specify if you installed it with any other mods and the order you did so, etc, etc.
Since you said you "think" it's not working, you apparently mean you don't believe you're getting the "performance" that you should (rather than it actually "not working").
The problem is you're running the game on a laptop and probably don't have enough RAM devoted solely to the system or the graphics or both while keeping in mind your laptop is probably sharing system RAM to the video rather than having its own separate memory.

I hate to bother you since this is such a fantastic mod, but I'm experiencing an error. On about 75% of the time that I start up Minecraft I am presented with randomly unloading and reloading chunks, never closer to me than roughly 20 metres. It makes the game difficult to play and so I've had to revert to vanilla for now. I have no other mods installed. I have tried cycling through VSync and MaxFPS and practically every option I could find, but none of them seem to help. I have an Nvidia 330M with Mac OS 10.7.2. This does happen if I switch to Integrated Graphics, but they're so terrible that the game is barely playable, even with Optifine. Please have a look into why this may be happening.

thats what im trying to put the .class filed into
