Oh my god. This is amazing. I just got it to work today after months of errors. But youre missing something... Something big... You know, some kind of giant sea monster that only spawns in the deepest waters. Just think about it, people have been using this mod for a long time. Imagine when they think they've conquered all the sharks, dolphins, and pihranas in the sea, they go out sailing, and get attacked by a huge sea serpent that kills everything in sight. It'll add a well-deserved mysterious feel to the sea, and people will come here with crazy tales of slaying the beast, just like real sailors do.

1- To those people who cant see their map icon in your inventory, Your texture pack is outdated, just goto items.png in your texture pack and copy/make a new icon for map (its supposed to be right next to the book)
I'm not using a texture pack. The maps were working fine before I installed this mod.

Err, I haven't seen a lion yet o_o And dolphins, sharks, and fish rarely spawn. Does the body of water have to be huge or something? Fish freq is on 10, dolphins are on 6. I've only seen 2 dolphins and 1 piranha. Oh and squids spawn at 0 freq.
And here's something hilarious that happened to me when using this mod.

Anyway, I noticed 1 hour into the game all horses/birds/pretty much everymob dissapears and is replaced with load of bunnies. Everyone seemed to be getting this same mistake :/. Well best of luck with modding, And hope you come to find this conclusion!

There is an errror in spawnrates at the moment, and the squid spawnrate is at zero because Minecraft itself already has squids added with its own spawnrate.
Same, i have a theory for why this is. I watched his BigCat video and he was using 1.5_01 and maps wern't in there. So when he updated his mod, maybe the code for maps somehow got messed up and deleted the image of the map. But i only just started modding and i have no facts. But thanks!!
One more thing dude. How does it grow?? Do i have to wait a certain amount of time?(If so, please say how long) or do i have to do or give it something??
Solution to the map problem !!!!!:
1.Open a copy of an unmodded jar file.Open with 7zip for windows or Archive utility for mac
2.go to the gui folder and drag the items.png file to your desktop
3.delete the jar
4. Open your current MC jar file and go to the gui folder inside.
5. replace the items.png inside the folder and DONE!!!!

for the spawn setting to take place, you have to restart minecraft.
I'm tired of the bug with the squids. They won't despawn as other mobs. I'm fixing it right now. From the next version of my mod onwards, it will replace the original EntitySquid.class file.
I try not to change any original file to keep compatibility to a maximum, but that bug is getting in the way.
I think I'll send Jeb a message with the bug fix as well, to see if they include it in MC 1.7
