Hello! i was wondering if anybody knew of a smp compatible recipe book mod? like say i would press a key or trigger something which would result in a recipe guide popping up onscreen. thanks!
What if this comes up: "java.io.FileNotFoundExeption:/ /Users/<my username>/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar" after I put "jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar" what should I do?
it says i have to update java but i did already and java is fully updated please help and contact me as soon as possible

To everyone getting a crash, there's nothing that can be done without a crash report. First off, look in your .minecraft folder for modloader.txt (or just modloader if you're on windows with the default setting to hide extensions still on, turn that stupid option off) and paste it's contents in a reply here.
Ummmm I am a noob at installing mods, trying to install modloader on mac Did the termenal thing by copying and pasting nothing happened, What now?
*EDIT*
Come on guys please help!
Ok, I have dled this mod before and have sucessfuly made it run. However, now when I dl this again, and do it all over again, it breaks down and I have proof of this.

and the only mod I have atm is Single player commands, which is 1.1 updated.
Make sure that when you're moving the .class files to the minecraft.jar, don't place it on a folder, as it might go in it, and screw you. Just scroll down and place it where the .class files are. That way it won't conflict with any function.
If you have tried that and you still crash backup your worlds, delete the .minecraft folder, do a 'Force update!' click it until it shows 'Will force!', install ModLoader just as how I told you above. If you're using any mods install the ModLoader first, then install the mods. If it's a mod that requires ModLoader, then create a folder called 'mods' in the minecraft folder. Then place the mods in there.
To everyone getting a crash, there's nothing that can be done without a crash report. Disclaimer: I'm quite good at following directions but in general when it comes to technical computer stuff like coding, I don't know what I'm doing so when something goes wrong, I'm not very helpful. I know this very well.
So to continue - I installed the ModLoader just as said, got the .jar open with 7zip, moved all the ModLoader files where the other .class files were, and loaded Minecraft. Past the login screen, the window turns black and stays that way indefinitely. I haven't tampered with the .jar other than that. If I go back to the .jar and delete all the files that belong to the mod and those only, I still get a black screen.
Yes. I did delete the META-INF file.
Since it seems like others are having problems, consider this more of a report than a true complaint. As for getting you more information than just a black screen - I ran the Linux version but no error report or anything comes up...at least, I don't think so. Maybe it's behind all that black screen.
EDIT:
I saw the above post, didn't know where the 'force update' button was, found it by a crazy random happenstance, and now things are working fine with the modloader. Hopefully when I add mods everything still works fine. Thanks
However, I'm still really confused about how to install the sound mod thing. Where do those files go? Just into the jar? ^^;

I may have found an interesting situation with the 1.1 version of ModLoader that could be what is causing other people having problems installing.
When I downloaded the new version, I just extracted it into a ModLoader subfolder, that already existed from when I did 1.0. The files look to be quite a bit different between the two versions now. Once I cleared out the old directory and re-extracted the files, I'm good to go again.

I await any response from you guys...
Modloader 1.1 wasn't working for me either until I removed some old mods in the mods folder that weren't up to date. Try that.
Make sure that when you're moving the .class files to the minecraft.jar, don't place it on a folder, as it might go in it, and screw you. Just scroll down and place it where the .class files are. That way it won't conflict with any function.

Then place the mods in there.
If it still doesn't work, you're screwed.
"The biggest common error is having old mods in the mods folder. Get rid of them and get the new versions when they come out."
Just want to point out that it is more than likely the main issue everyone's been having. fixed my problems.
So to continue - I installed the ModLoader just as said, got the .jar open with 7zip, moved all the ModLoader files where the other .class files were, and loaded Minecraft. Past the login screen, the window turns black and stays that way indefinitely. I haven't tampered with the .jar other than that. you need ModloaderMP from Flans thread
No error report = no help, simple
