I'll try to explain it a little better. Certain mods require just their .zip file to be put into the mods folder. They aren't moving into the mods folder when I use this program though. For the other part, I meant that the mod's class files don't get put into the minecraft.jar.
Oh I see!
The zips are not put into the mods folder on purpose, they are inserted into minecraft.jar because this is what modloader does, by not inserting zips into the mods folder, the startup time of minecraft should actually increase

I wasn't using the smart mod adder. I used the manual mod adder and selected the mods folder.
hey TLB! sorry for the lack of talkness, we just got our floors finished, maaaan that took a while, I should be more active on the minecraft forums now :biggrin.gif:

hey
congratulations, you must now have beautiful floors
its a real pity that i am finding less time on programming this tool
i may actually want to find a team for this program, although team programming is usually a bad idea...

Yea, the floors look really really nice, anyways I think the tool is doing pretty well, if you slowly iron out the bugs it will be pretty complete, then you will be able to add a few features if you wanted too....
also smart adder seems to be working well without many issues that I can notice (like no real issues at all haha)
I still find this extreemly useful for minecraft, now people joining my server can just use a mod package to install mods!! (and most of them have no clue how to mod minecraft, some even learned using this tool though, lol)
just a quick I'm-letting-you-know-if-anythings-spazzing-about report haha..

glad to know that it is working well
i cant develop this much as i am currently working on diplomacy and i am also planning on forming a team of sorts, also planning on other MineMod applications so that MineMod would be a "brand" instead of just one application and of course they will be free for download
i am doing this because i think the omni tool is currently quite adept on its tasks (except for issues with config files) and i find myself with less time on developing this just all by myself
Hey guys, got a little question here. Seems the technic pack for 1.8 is using an installer, any idea how I still can install this using the Omnitool? I want to keep the ability of easily modding with MineMod.
EDIT; Oh, and does the smartmodder work fine? Have been a little bit afraid to use the option, really should give it a try.
umm i cant really find the technic pack mod, would you mind providing a link to its thread?
as for the smart mod adder, it works for most mods, there is a (small) list on my thread for a list of confirmed compatible mods, most other mods should work as well, just dont try installing something thats too complicated and it should work
Or simply go to google and type ''kakermix technic pack'', and search a good link. The file you will be looking for is called Technic4.4.0.rar (this is for 1.8).
Since the README is not very clear about how to install, I assume you need to unzip everything and use the Technic_installer.jar to install everything.
(also since there are no .class files etc I can find :/ )
EDIT: Remember guys, the MCNostalgia is only if you want to downgrade to 1.7.3 . For a 'regular' install you will only need the Technic4.4.0.rar , I guess.
i've looked at the technic pack and i dont think it actually works with the omni tool...
you could of course use the install manually option to add the mods from the "mods\extras" folder into the omni tool, i am not 100% sure about the smart mod adder, maybe you could try selecting the smart mod adder and selecting the technic4.0.rar and see whether it works or not
PS you've reminded me to post my tool onto the yogscast forums
when u think about it its faster to just manually do it and not go through all this trouble
Its much much more organized and simple, simply press add mod, select jar, drag and drop mods into it, name it, done.. and you can simply enable and disable them if you have conflicting mods, plus its incredibly fast if your good at pcs, and you dont even need 7zip or any other extracting program, so if your new to minecraft modding, or even a modding pro, its a good tool..
Hello! I have a problem with the tool. I know you stated this in a previous post, but when I manually add a .zip or a .rar to the mods folder it goes to the .jar, is there a work around for this?

the manual one also unzips zips inside the mods folder
the mods should work... is it not working? :blink.gif:
I'm not sure. I didn't really test it out that much. Kinda waiting the next version :tongue.gif:

i am sorry, but i currently have no plans on porting this to any UNIX like operating systems

sorry, this is not planned in the near future
the smart mod adder requires 3 clicks, it is way faster than doing it manually
the "add mods manually" option in my tool also enables drag and drop, so it is just about as quick as doing it manually (tested)
you cant uninstall mods if you do it manually
please give it a try at least

please remove the modified file
i dont want it to be accessible or modified as stated by my license
also please check the licenses section as my license specifically said no distribution/redistribution of the file and/or modified versions of it
PS: there isnt really much point scanning a tool with more than 200 replies and almost 50 green +s
