After 3 days of struggle I've finally managed to find an error in ores placement algorithm. Now I just need to write small chunk of code and the original generator will be ready.
Also I must say, that I've not coded structures, like villages, mineshafts and strongholds, because if I would, the release of this generator would be delayed and I don't want that. Now I just want to release Notch-like generator as fast as I can.
I love the capabilities of this gen, but i have a problem that prevents me from using this and that is that even though i am administrator of my computer it seems MCTERRA sees me with no admin rights and i can't seem to figure out how to fix the problem so if you know of why this happened or give me some advice so i can fix this or screw the whole admin thing and change the coding i don't care i just want to use this awesome program D:>
this is a really awesome program but when are you going to be releasing the "like notch" generator it would be really useful for my server. Thanks and keep up the good work :smile.gif:

This is awesome, thank you. I'd like to let mac users know this seems to run fine on Crossover as well. It's rather slow, but I can't say if that is due to Crossover or the program. Just make sure you save the file to a path you can find it and you should be good. :smile.gif:
someone help me please? I'm an administrator on this computer, and i'm still getting an error message saying i need admin rights. what do i do?
It doesn't matter if your user accout have administrator rights, you need to run this program with native "Administrator" accout. Try "Right mouse button"->Run As, and try "Administrator" login with admin password, this should work.
Also I'd like to say, that I'm trying to make ore generator working, but it seems that there is some unknown problem. In some chunks ores generate perfectly fine, but in other chunks they are misplaced.
I may release original generator without population algorithm and then work on that later.
Hiya Mozzg, it's been a while since I've posted in this thread, but I got an idea.
For the golden tunnels generator, you should be able to choose what blocks are used, e.g. netherrack for the stone, lava for water, netherbrick for log, web for leaves, soulsand instead of gravel, netherwart instead of mushrooms etc
Not sure how hard it'd be to implement, but you could come up with some cool themed maps.
I'm glad to announce a new version of my program: 0.8.0.0. You can find a download link in the first post.
Changes in this version:
- Added "like-Notch" generator. It can generate only landscape, cave, ravines and biome related blocks (such as grass, sand, muselium). To make it generate ores and vegetation you need to check the option "Populate chunks" on the main window.
- Added "Player settings". Now you can change player XP-level, XP on current level, total score, health, food level, line of sight (rotation of the head) and rewrite the position of the player. Note that changing position of the player without knowing, what are you doing is not reccomended.
- Changed the behavior of admin rights test when the program starts. Now there is a warning window appear and the program starts anyway.
Can't believe this works. I'm rendering a huge map right now, and the program doesn't lag?
fake! or exceptionally good!
Also, would it be a nice idea to add a progress bar?
Do you think fake program will last 17 pages of comments? And there is a progress bar, in lower-left corner.
I must inform you, that now I'm setting up my own minecraft server. I don't know when I finish this program or will I finish it at all, but I need your help. If anyone can help with setting up a minecraft server or creating a site for it, you can contact me via Skype (Mozzg1987) or a personal conversation on this forum.
i dont think your populate chunks is working because i press it and i dont get any vegitation--------- SORRY I USED MCEDIT TO VIEW AFTER AND ALL IT NEEDS IS TO ACTUALLY BE RUN AND IT GENERATES VEGETATION MY MISTAKE SORRY ONCE AGAIN I FAILED IT WORKS PERFECTLY.

SUGGESTION-
There should be a feature that allows the generator to generate things from mods. For example, I have the technic pack and I want ma copper and tin to spawn in the golden tunnels but it wont, but with the feature the generator will scan the minecraft.jar for anything that will spawn once a world is generated and SHAZAM! profit

the thing is you make it sound easy but i highly doubt it is i expect that would be a pain in the ass.
not to mention it would make the generation take alot longer scanning every file in the jar

All we need is the possibility to choose a set of block ID's we want to be outside/inside the planets and give some probabilities for each one, not hard to implement.
so this is just a map maker right? you can still use the generated maps on newer versions? say 1.0.0?

There once was a wise man out with tnt. the creepers swarmed in with numbers unseen. he placed it and armed it with his trusty redstone. now, to this day, creepers leave steve alone.

I tried to compile my project in Lazarus, but it seems, that my Zlib library is incompatible with it.

do you have a eta for the floating island gen?
