Anyone know if you can use McEdit 0.1.6 with Minecraft 1.5.1?

It should do and it seems to from what other people haved stated, but you might be better off with the latest dev build for 0.1.7. Despite them being classed as 'unstable' I find them just as stable as the main releases.
You'll probably find that none of the new 1.5 blocks etc will show properly but you can still use and place them. Also, you might need to tell MCEdit to use the default skin/texture pack.

It's possible to replace certain blocks with other ones, but is it possible to replace seuqences of blocks with another sequence? I want let's say to find all instances where there is lapis lazuli with fire on it, and replace all them with lapis lazuli with glowstone on them. I need that sort of thing, is it possible?
Unfortunately, this is not possible as far as I know. However, it could definitely be done with an MCedit filter. Just let me know how exactly you want it to work, and I may have the time to make such a filter

Hello. I am having some problems with mcedit. I currently am using version 0.1.6 and I am using a Mac. (OS X) And I have also installed XQuartz because I needed to install that to run the program. The problem is, I have been watching tutorials on how to use it, but everyone tutorial has a inventory with mcedit tools. I dont have this. All I have are the options to the left side of my screen. I need this because there was a filter option where I could open filters so I could use it. But now there is no option to do this action. Is there soem kind of option, I need to enable, or disable? Was it removed or replaced with some other system? A bug? Thanks, Jake
In case you are moded your instance of minecraft or running it on MultiMC, even if your world crashes because of some modes, do not ever use this tool! find something else. I only deleted one single block and McEdit decided that it needs to save the chunk and all 9 adjacent chunks too and also fix all the errors in them too!
Here is why!
These are my chests from Iron Chests and Railcraft! Oh you can't see them? because they all disappeared!
These are my IC2, Factorization, Forestry, Buildcrtaft machines
These are my solar panels from IC2 and red power
These are corns and seeds
These are Extra XL biome trees
And all my Railcraft items changed to spider net and steve's cart items to emrald blocks!

I have a weird problem that I didn't have a few days ago. When I load a world (for 1.4.7), none of the blocks appear. Only the water and lava appear, and when I go to one of those chunk things, they disappear. This program is awesome and I use it all the time, so can someone help me?
To download the latest MCEdit or report any problems you may have, head over to theofficial site. You can find downloads and other helpful links on the left sidebar, and news about the program's development will be posted regularly. If you want to share MCEdit, please only link to the official site at http://www.mcedit.net/. Don't upload MCEdit to a file sharing site or post links to the direct downloads. If you downloaded MCEdit from a site other than mcedit.net, I do not recommend using it.

I'm having an issue getting the Filters menu to open, any time I try to use a filter it just goes to the first one and won't let select a different filter.
I'm currently using MC Edit dev-0.1.7build440.win32, since I read it has support for mod items.
I even tried running the program inside of the MC Edit folders with all the other files, and still no luck getting the filters to work, it just auto selects the first one on the list and no menu.

Hopefully this possible bug can be fixed.
You may have so many filters iyour list that the list won't render.
Test by temporarily moving some of the filters into a subdirectory to get the list size down.
I can duplicate the behaviour you describe when windowed with the window height smaller than the filter list size.
please help. I've bean working with mc edit using the brush tool but something happened and lately i can't put blocks from my brush tool under blocks like if theres flat land and I'm trying to terraform with a round shape the shape won't go in the ground so only some of the blocks stick out making it seem like the ground. now when i try to terraform the shape won't go in the ground please help I've looked everywhere but haven't found an answer. I'm really needing help as soon as possible.
Not sure what you mean exactly but try scrolling your middle mouse wheel. That selects how far the block/brush is placed from the block you are pointing at. There are several distances and one end of the scale allows the brush to go into the ground.
If that isn't what you want have a look at the 'mode' option once the brush tool is selected. It's normally on fill.
EDIT: You might want to use some basic punctuation more frequently. It would make your post a hell of a lot easier to understand.
Thank you that worked, i thought i tried that but guess not. oh and sorry bout the punctuation... I'm working on that

One of my tests only had the filters that MC Edit came with and none of the ones I would like to use, but still no luck with the menu. I also run MC Edit in maximized windowed mode so I should have plenty of space for everything.
Yes, you can. I was just using it for a new map!
I make texture packs for fun! It's like a hobby.
It's spelled "thanks", which ends with an S. Sssssssss makes more sense for a creeper than Xxxxxxxxx.

Wait for a new update. I think they have a new, but unstable update.
