I had idea to make something whereby I make giant structures and make the player feel small. This would be too time consuming but I had an idea where I could build it block by block small scale and then use the filter to make it big with blocks with different colours.
I hope you understand my idea and PM me if you up for it. It would be greatly appreciated.
im sorry if i sounded rude in my last post it just seems a little weird is it really that hard to fix up some codeing for a mac 10.5? Im trying to make an adventure map and its just ahrd when everytime an update happens i loose the entire map!

To add a little more detail, programming languages are not always cross platform. Java has a nice benefit of being relatively cross platform thanks to OS support. Changing the entire programming language of this particular program so that it could be compatible with a Mac OS would involve rewriting the whole thing. Not fun or productive. The differences between the OS's are exactly why many games have significantly delayed releases or no releases at all for Macs. It's time consuming and costs money to port in those cases.
If you wanted a good Mac port or program compatibility, your options include:
1. Learning both Python and a Mac compatible language and rewriting the program yourself for Mac compatibility.
2. Finding someone else willing to do that same thing.
3. Be patient and wait until more work is done for the current versions available.
4. Buy a PC in the future, you are not limited to windows OSs as there are others available including free options. http://en.wikipedia....erating_systems
Be aware that not all OS's are compatible due to limited language support. Even with Windows, you sometimes need to install language support which is not native, hence the need for downloading and upgrading Java now and then.

You're missing the point. The difference between Mac OS 10.5 and 10.6 is not just operating system. But hardware as well. It's fundamentally different.

While I didn't directly state that hardware was an equal culprit, it is heavily inferred by suggesting they get a PC and stating OSs other than windows are options if they don't want windows.
Since MCEdit is written in Python using OpenGL, it is quite trivial to port it to most modern operating systems, that have necessary support for these two languages.
Underline "modern".
I'm sorry to keep asking this over and over again. But I'm not even getting an answer to my question. I hope no one is ignoring me because that's just rude.
So I'll ask again: Is there a version of MC Edit with the extra colors of Wood... or is there a way to add the other colors to it?

If you have the most recent version, and it doesn't have the extra wood, then no. You can still use the extra wood, it just may look pink inside the editor. It will still show up correctly ingame.
For dark wood, use 5:1, for birch 5:2, and for jungle 5:3. If you type :, it indicates the number after it is a block's damage value. See this for more info.
Whenever I try opening one of my worlds in mcedit, all it shows is this void-like space without anything I've built. I can see only that and my spawn point. Is there a fix for it? Because i really like using mcedit.

You are using an outdated McEdit. Get a version from the download link in the OP.

Nnnnot sure you're really getting what I just said and are still assuming I'm not aware of the hardware issue.
Suggesting a PC and saying the OS essentially doesn't matter suggests hardware is more important.
But whatever, this is off topic.
And then this one was quoted near the top of three pages back, but was on the bottom of the fourth page back from your post.
...Plus or minus a page, if I miscounted.
---------------------------
As for the issue I was reporting a page back, reinstalling the drivers to my NVIDIA graphics card didn't solve the problem. Can I add a line somewhere to access debug mode and assess exactly where MC Edit is hanging up on me? The DOS Prompt window isn't very helpful since I'm not sure if it's hanging up on different lines or not. Seems to each time...
thanks for showing me all th places that those were said, i missed everyone of them , i think i must need to open my eyes up more or something

To be fair, you weren't looking for "Intel graphics problem", so my post at the very least would not have helped you. In fact the third quote would not have helped either, as the entire chain of quotes never mentions MCEdit crashing on attempting to use the fill tool - it only mentions that Intel graphics has some problems using MCEdit. So, given that you were looking for things to help with your problem, and didn't know the cause, only the 2nd quote could have stood out to you... And even then, not the quoted part, but a part that was crossed out.
I think part of the problem here is that people (myself included) are used to seeing common complaints and issues on this thread, and have already stated the solutions many times, but it's not as easy for someone with the problem to find it in this thread. I mean, it's easy for us to go through the thread, Ctrl+F "Intel" or "update", since the answers to peoples' questions are always similar. The actual questions, however? "crash" "close" "quit" "fill" "replace" "brush" and other terms have been used in describing the same problem, and some of those terms are also used in describing entirely different problems. If someone's not aware how other people describe their problem, or that the problem exists for a number of different tools, then Ctrl+F doesn't necessarily help. And skimming 6+ pages, you're bound to miss the one actual mention of your problem.
This is why we seriously need an FAQ (like, on the first post). That way, the only people being derided for being impatient fools are the ones who can't even bother to glance at the first post and see their problem mentioned right there. I don't think it's a crime to only look at the first post and last page of a thread before posting, especially when there are hundreds of pages. You can't seriously expect people to fully read 6+ pages of a thread before posting... And I'm not being lazy when I say that; I'm being realistic. And I'm a college student, so don't even get started on the "impatient mentality of a 12-year-old who can't bother to read a thing" crap. Stuff like that makes this thread unwelcoming, even moreso than demanding people to read roughly a textbook chapter before posting in the thread.
For starters, how about something like this?
Frequently Asked Questions Q: When I open my world, all I see is an empty blue void/sky. It says there is no data. Why? A: You are using an outdated version of MCEdit. Stable33 or Testing289 are not the most recent versions. Please check the downloads section above, and get one of the recent versions. Note that the update checker in those versions does not update to the newest version, as the project is now lead by TkTech rather than codewarrior.
Q: When I try to use the Fill/Replace tool, Brush tool, etc., MCEdit just closes on me. Why? A: This is a known problem if you have Intel Integrated graphics. Your only solutions are to get a better graphics card (any dedicated card should be better than an integrated one), or to use the outdated MCEdit-0.1.0-10gbcf7 version, which will work with Intel integrated graphics, but is a bit buggier than the newer versions. TkTech has stated he cannot fix this problem without a computer to test the issue on, and because he does not have a computer with Intel integrated graphics, he cannot even get started on trying to fix it.
Q: I downloaded the program and I can't find anything to run. There is no exe. How do I start it? A: You might have downloaded the source code. The actual runnable downloads are here. Remember to extract from the ZIP before trying to run it!
Q: The program has some issues running and sometimes abruptly closes. Is this because I'm running it from within the .zip? A: Yes. In order to properly run, you must extract the program from the .zip archive. On Windows, you can right-click -> Extract All, or use a program such as 7-zip to unzip it. The program must be in a folder, not a zip, in order to run correctly.
Q: Filters are buggy or crash. What's wrong? A: Filters are a bit buggy in current versions of MCEdit. You can wait for an update that makes them work again, or try using them in an old version and copying their effects into a newer version via Importing/Exporting schematics. Note that in order to edit a Minecraft 1.2.0+ area in an older version, you will have to export the region of your map to a schematic.
Q: MCEdit does not provide some blocks, like upside-down stairs or colored wood, or some blocks added by a mod I use. Is there any way to get these blocks? A: First check that you are on the most recent version, in case these blocks have been added. Even if they haven't, you can still use them, however. Look at this page for a list of block IDs and data values. When using tools such as Brush, Fill/Replace, etc., there is a box that lets you choose the material you want to use. Typing in a number will indicate that you want to use a block ID, and typing : with a number after it lets you choose the data value. For example, "5:2" (without quotes) produces birch planks. If you know the block IDs and data values for mod blocks, you can add those in the same way.

People, feel free to add suggestions or rewrite my questions/answers, and hopefully someday something like this can be put on the first post.

Will there be a 64bit windows version again, I'm trying to remove chunks from my world (and leave the spawn town chunks), but I think it keeps crashing. Also I'm stuck in a top down view of the world
So you build a small structure by hand, and then use Mcedit to scale it up?
Good idea!
Yes, it's really that hard.

There is a FAQ page, on the Github wiki. Problem is, no one ever seems to check the github wiki.
https://github.com/mcedit/mcedit/wiki/FAQ
P.S. It's the old "0.1.1" that works with Intel. 0.1.0-gbcf7 does not work with Intel.
